Act 10: The first of many

Mesen'loras Campaign
Act 10: The first of many

Rygel Larraq watched as hundreds of thousands of credits worth of investment was pulled from the genetic sequencer. Skek'zus Quall picked it up. A simple syringe filled with green liquid. The genetic information for an entirely new species, a product that would propel Mandal Hypernautics forward like no other, was held in the Qellan's left hand as the creature awkwardly walked on three legs toward the building's exit. Larraq followed close behind, eager to view the final act of creation take place.

Outside the complex, the shore of Kibo Lake dominated the view. Even from their vantage point several blocks away, Larraq could see the two Corvette-sized boats anchored a few dozen meters from shore. Between them, the sedated Lygria floated peacefully. Larraq had named her Alor'buir and had grown surprisingly fond of the creature in the time it had taken Skek'zus and the other Auron Helix employees to finish their work. He would spend hours at a time in his office with an open window listening to the quiet songs she occasionally sung while swimming in Kibo Lake.

Larraq and Skek'zus, followed by a small flock of scientists, boarded one of his Ani'jarkiv Luxury Limos and made their way out to the floating creature. The limo came to a stop between the two Corvettes. Water splashed gently against the thick skin of the creature barely a meter below the open door of the limo. Alor'buir sang quietly as she slept and Skek'zus lowered himself out of the open door and onto the beautiful creature's back.

Larraq said nothing. He had no words for this. The moment felt perfect the way it was, so Larraq remained silent and watched as the Qellan held the future of his company in his hand. He leaned out of an open window, his hair fluttering as the breeze from the lake rippled past his face. Below him, Skek'zus walked along Alor'buir's back and slowly made his way to her pelvic fins.
