Action-Reaction

The Admiralty
A couple of hours after the Party/Elections/Kaggath.

Jared sat at the head of the table in one of the conference rooms and played absent-mindedly with his lightsabre, while he was waiting for the various leaders of the Fringe to join him. After today's incident a decision had to be made regarding a certain member of the Confederation, every action causes a reaction and if it was up to Jared? This one would have a large reaction.

But he was not going to make that decision on his own, there was a certain way of dealing with such things and people deserved to voice their opinion on this matter.

-----

OOC/ Okay people, I talked to Jon and we decided to put up an IC discussion thread about Circe and her status in the Fringe. No mud-throwing or insults, so keep it clean.

Ashin Varanin

Professional Enabler
Everyone in the room knew that Ashin had generally backed Circe Savan, except in Circe's more extreme or treasonous moments. Everyone in the room also knew that Circe had cured Ashin's cancer. And, in fairness, everyone in the room knew that Rave Merrill's kaggath had been the culmination of a number of actions that could be construed as deliberately screwing the Fringe Confederation for Circe's personal gain.

And so the Grand Admiral grimaced and, for now, said nothing.

Lucien walked in to the conference room, his bowtie was skewed and his shirt was stained in his blood courtesy of Raves Little moment. He sat down opposite Jared His head resting against his left hand, His right hand hung lazily over the arm rest. It had been a long day. "You called Lord Ovmar"

Spencer followed, everyone knew the pair backed Circe. There were things that were beyond their control - the woman knew things about them and she had helped them in a trying time. Spencer took the seat next to the Admiral. She had her opinions, but in the end what ever was better for the Fringe she would support the best she could. Glancing towards Ashin, she sensed something and knew a small gesture of support would possibly do well. Reaching over she patted Ashin's leg and gave the woman a soft smile. Today was going to be a difficult one, but Spencer was here to offer her support and keep the emotions in the room from becoming too heated.

Though he took no part in the leadership of the Fringe or even counseling those who did, Dissero found himself invited nevertheless. This struck him curious, but he chose not to think much on it. If Ashin wished to hear his words, hear them she would.

The man arrived while the room was still quiet and took a seat without a word, slowly churning through his thoughts what information they'd given him on the case of Miss Circe Savan. Personally, he'd had little fan-fair with the woman aside from stealing her thunder. Rumors be damned, with hard facts he certainly had enough to form an opinion on whether or not she was good for the group as a whole. He'd wait, of course.

It wasn't his place to break the ice. He was merely here as support ... for someone's side of the coin.

It did not take long for most invitees to join him at the table, a couple of important faces were still missing, but that could not be helped. They would have to be brought up to speed during the meeting, firmly he stood up telling everyone that he wished to speak.

"My dear friends and associates. You know me, I like to cut straight to the chase. After what has happened today during the elections? It is my opinion that Lady Savan has not yet felt the full extend of her deeds, which is why I propose a vote to exile her from Fringe Space."

Then he simply sat down again and listened.

Lucien lent forward "I would rather not become embroiled in the mire of this, Lady Savan has never directly hurt me and I lack the knowledge to pass fair judgment at this time. That and quite frankly I'm drunk and in pain Lady Savan is the last of my problems " He sighed he would see if he could be convinced by the others.

Kitt Solo

Alen Na'Varro's Ex
Taking a seat next to blue eyes, she watched, waited, and listened. She saw the fight that broke out between both potential high council members at the party. It would probably boost her chances of getting those tertiary votes.

Stars, then she'd have to be semi-responsible.

Taking out some fried pickles, she popped one into her mouth and passed the lot around the room.

What? Decisions like these were probably better made on a full stomach.

Zaiden stood silent while the others arrived, hidden in the back corner with his arms closed. A gentle Force Cloak was draped lazily about himself as he mulled over his decision, knowing already what they had been brought here for.

"Jared, I aided you when I had not even learned of your name, let alone what you would one day become. I hope you, and all others here will listen when I speak." Zaiden said, then paused and inhaled slowly, "Circe has done tremendous errors against the people of the Fringe, but as well, she has saved lives and aided innumerable times. Make her stand trial, strip her of all respect and rank among other things. Leave her broken, but able to be of use.

"I have done horrible things against my enemies, and made bad judgment calls to allies. But in the end I'm left racking my brain for the right decision. Some times it isn't what others like, but in a time of constant battle such as this, what more can we do than keep what resources we have near to the chest?" Zaiden said, his speech now complete he returned to the realm of invisibility.

The voice of Zaiden held a piece of reason Sargon felt quite inclined to agree to. "A trial, I feel that is the best to go, while exile is perhaps warranted let us give her the chance to defend herself, and let us give the people of the Confederacy justice as well. The charges would be treason and dereliction of duty as an officer of the Fringe Confederacy."

Na'Varro was not a leader of the Fringe Confederacy, but he found himself involved in things nonetheless. Circe Savan was not someone he had come across until the events two hours ago, but he had heard talk and developed a strong impression from the events of the party. He was here to offer his own analysis and opinion, for what little it was worth, and watch and learn how the Fringe leaders did things.

"Savan fought well in the Kaggath, with skill and no shortage of incredible willpower. She just met her maker, so to speak.." He cleared his throat. "That being said, a collection of people with similar goals runs smoother without toxic influences. The suggestion of a trial has merit."

Alen shrugged and retired to a dark corner of the room. That was his opinion, whether it was a welcome one or not.

Dissero took a fried pickle and munched thoughtfully while the others said their piece. By the time Na'Varro had finished, the Archivist had gathered his own thoughts on the matter to feel confident in voicing them.

"You have-" the man grunted, leaning to take a drink of water to wash down the strangely acidic-yet-savory taste of the snack, "spent a good deal of time and effort sowing the seeds to this paradise garden in Wild Space. You've got flowers and weeds of all kinds that have sunk their roots deep into this soil, just as well - you know what you plant here and you'll nuture what you see fit to grow and strengthen. But as the caretaker of this garden I'm sure you know that this particular plant has come in diseased with poison."

He was looking at Ashin now, turning a small metal cube in his fingers on the table top, "No doubt you've done what you can to stop the spread of it, but her poison has gone to the roots and it will spread, eating away at the very foundations of what you've created. It will draw pestilence from above and below until you've all but lost the green."

The man took a slow breath, leaning back into his seat, "I have the pleasure of viewing this from an entirely neutral perspective. I have no predisposition to the woman for bias to swing my opinion. But this information you have provided me has given me a solid base for me to stand on. This is nothing personal. It's just good gardening."

He leveled Ashin with a steady gaze, all hint of humor gone from his eyes, "I recommend you pull the disease out by the roots and dispose of it before it has a chance to corrupt anything more."

"Lady Varanin, we respect what you've done for all of us, but the High Council needs to act, and if you really stepped down to let a new generation run things, that decision needs to be ours.

"This meeting was first scheduled after the kaggath, and since then she's had two further chances to choose us. Both times, she's chosen not to. Dissero's proposition has wisdom. Though I respect the voices of those who've spoken for a trial, my vote is for exile."

A brief wave of static could be heard probably due to Kiyala's rather crappy technician working on the system. She thinks his name was Kush, Bush, or Butch; whatever his name was the guy was always baked which didn't put Kiyala off but wasn't good for business either. Either way, after a rather short break in the static an hologram of Kiyala would spring to life. She offered her superiors and even those on the same level as her a nod before looking at @[member="Jared Ovmar"] before speaking "I believe that Circe should be given another chance for two reasons. I don't know what her charges were but if it's simple as using the Fringe for her betterment can we all honestly say we have not benefited from joining the Fringe? Furthermore, she has saved the lives or at least helped out a majority of the people in this room including myself."

Kiyala paused for a second to compose herself, she was still young so at times she wore her emotions to closely. As soon as a sense of neutrality returned to the Queen's face she continued to say. "My vote is for a truly fresh chance if she has any sort of leadership position simply strip it in name not in respect because despite her crimes she has also done much to earn our respect. Allow her to be reembraced with a clean slate as if we don't know her and allow herself truly the chance to regain our trust and if after we've truly given her a clean slate if she spits in our face than I will agree with exile."
