Greetings-

Can anyone currently writing an active character in the Army of the Republic please post here.

Quick background - the faction owner has asked me to assist in fleshing out the general cohesion of the Republic military. I recognize and respect that a lot of GREAT work has already been completed. That being said - in the frame of our current efforts to revitalize the Republic and, specifically, the NFU side of things I just need to know who is here and willing to help out.

Rest assured any currently created units/positions/whatever will not be amended without the consensus of said individual.

Once the faction vote concludes tonight, I will post some of the concepts/ideas that have been discussed at the Faction Administrator level (of which I am not one...just a go-between) for all of you to take a look at.

In general it will revolve around creating a specific Special Mission Unit encompassing all of the current NFU-generated units and various others (for operational flexibility and diversity sake) reporting directly to some random NPC Supreme Commander type. The upper echelons of the new "Galactic Republic Military" structure will undoubtedly be fleshed out over a few more days because there are things that have to happen in the Senate and elsewhere first, but that is all basically transparent to us, the go-getters.

As always, any questions/comments/concerns can either be PMed or posted in this thread. I will answer within the scope of my knowledge and authority to do so (which basically if you ask me non-military stuff it has nothing to do with me so I won't know haha).

I noticed you posted in both threads. Are you Army or Navy? I know Wraith Squadron has both but in terms of knowing where to put you in the structure Caid and to a smaller degree I need to know what branch you are. Even though the Battle Group will combine both branches if I understand the direction correctly both branches will still hold some of the independence they currently have.

Kyber originally joined the Army, but Wraith Squadron picked him up due to his Mechanical Skills. He's still enlisted in the Army but he's with Wraith Squadron as well, not really the Navy as a whole. Sorry about the confusion, hoped this clarified things.

Ok no problem we can get you added to the roster just need to know what rank. Based on the development thread I am going to assume Sgt. but want to confirm before logging it with the other Army characters.

Case by case some have asked me to assign them one and others have requested a specific rank. In your case your current in character rank you have posted of Specialist does not exist in the provided structure but the RL equivalent would be Cpl. which we do have. Or you can go Sgt. I am ok with either.

All - several changes will be happening to the military forums over the next day or so as new information is rolled out. Please be patient as changes are implemented - nothing will be outright deleted unless it is outdated information (and outdated information provided by staff, member generated information will not be archived/moved until such time as everyone is on the same page with the new setup).

Please hold your questions until I post a general thread for input/changes/edits/whatevers.
