Description: Summoned with the assembled fragments of the Taurannik Codex, Lotek'k, the Terror From Beyond, was defeated by the combined efforts of [member="Fabula Cavataio"], [member="Valik"], [member="Ashin Varanin"], [member="Ayden Cater"], [member="Aleidis Ijet"], [member="Spencer Jacobs"], Rave Merrill, [member="Deagan Hunt"], [member="Delila Castillon"], [member="Kitt Solo"], [member="Je'gan Olra'en"], [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"], and [member="Alen Na'Varro"]. Nine high-level Masters, two powerful Knights, and two highly experienced non-Force-using warriors (many of them enemies or rivals) were required to defeat Lotek'k. It was, perhaps, the largest single exercise of cooperation in modern galactic history.
The hide of Lotek'k was treated by two of the three finest alchemists alive (Valik and Rave, Disciple being the odd man out), giving it unprecedented durability on par with the heaviest armor while retaining flexibility. (Naturally, this means that blunt trauma will still break bones through the leather.) It can take a lightsabre blow, but not sustained contact.
The resulting jacket retains the oppressive presence of its originator. When in the presence of the Kerrigan Coat, others (not the wearer) feel a powerful fear, an urge to be elsewhere. This fear aura has an effective radius of roughly ten metres. Obviously, it is less effective against masters of dissembling, the strong-minded, and well-trained Force users, and has no effect on droids, Hutts, Toydarians, or Epicanthix. As this would be a serious disadvantage to one's social life, and to one's tactical utility if working with allies, the master alchemist Rave Merrill devised a method of 'putting the jacket to sleep.' A drop of the wearer's blood, placed inside a very small horizontal pocket inside the outermost layer of the double-breasted jacket, will activate or deactivate the effect. If the wearer is bleeding profusely, it is possible for the coat's presence to activate and deactivate rapidly and uncontrollably. The small pocket is just big enough for a thumbtip, and angled right and down to keep a downward spill of blood from filling it. The positioning of the blood-sensitive spot, while convenient and secure, may also present its own tactical problems: Activating it looks remarkably like the action of going for a weapon tucked inside a breast pocket.
The trim is from the summer fur of a Jakobeast, a Force-sensitive arctic animal. It confers no special properties, but is very nice.
