Description:
It is not easy coming up with clever one-liners and monikers for every product at a company so gargantuan as AEI is. A marketing executive was recorded as saying once during the prototyping of this product that the hat 'had no name'. And thus was born a legend in Outer-Rim style comfort.
It is a fine flat-topped hat of alchemized kryat dragon hide available in black, brown, or for an increased cost, white. The alchemical treatment to the hide makes it resistant, but not immune to most forms of damage, and more than one hit in the same area of the hat will overcome this resistance. It comes with a decorative band above the brim, customized to the buyers request within reason, and a chin strap made of braided terentatek sinew. The wearers throat would be cut by pressure before this hat could be yanked off without their consent.
The astounding abilities of this hat are many, but practical in nature. It is alchemically treated to repel any water or rain. It generates an aura of darkened shadewhen the brim is tilted down by the front brim that shades the wearer from all light sources as if very high-end polarized sun glasses, and like with any hat angled over the face provides the benefit of their features being obscured in said shade. In addition, when the front brim is twisted from side to side, the hat provides a fine cooling breeze with a faint water mist to the wearer, which on certain Rim-worlds can be quite handy. This last feature will not prevent death by dehydration, but can prolong survival from such for several days, though due to the inadequate water supply of most such desert locations, such use will cease after a time, and the hat will no longer produce the effect ever again.
