BIOGRAPHY:
Living on Thyrsus for much of his life, Aelys grew up in desert sands and harsh conditions. Born into a nomadic clan of Sun Guardians, many of them were veterans of wars that plagued the Galaxy as the Gulag Plague came to an end. They fought heavily against the Sith and their Empires, and their hatred for Imperials passed down by word of mouth from elders to the youth. Ensuring the cycle of Sith hatred continued for as long as the Dark Order existed. Sent to the Jedi Order once the Sith threat had been neutralized in the Core, Aelys learned the ways of the Jedi for the years the Galactic Alliance held the worlds, before rejecting them prior to the end of the Great Galactic War and the Alliance's collapse.
In his time in the Jedi, Aelys was noted by Jedi Instructors as having a high aptitude for melee combat and an innate ability for anticipating the next moves of his opponent. It was also noted that he had a complete disconnect with telekinetic abilities in the Force. Whether it was due to a genetic issue or a complete rejection of the idea of altering the surrounding environment he didn't remain in the Order long enough to find an alternate route to bypass the resistance.
After the end of the Great Galactic War, he returned home and located his clans in the sands. Remaining among them through the years leading up to the end of the Compact's hold on Thyrsus, he didn't stay for long. The familiarity of the sands and the people he lived amongst stoked the flames of anger that he withheld deep inside, but he knew it was only a matter of time before he'd explode.
Recalling his brief tenure as a Jedi, he knew it was for the best that he return. Counseled by the Shamans and Elders of his clan, he set out back to the Core. Regardless of the call to combat the Dark Side and the threat of the Bryn'adul, the only darkness he wanted to put an end to, was his own. And the Jedi's supposed path of following the Light was the easiest route to get there.
