- Aeryn is unwaveringly loyal. It may take time to tear down her walls, but once they’re down, she is fiercely devoted to her inner circle
- She’s a crack shot, her aim is quickly calculated and generally spot on – though nobody is perfect
- Plan maker, she’s good at making advantageous and thorough plans for most situations
- She’s honest, to her there’s no reason to lie to someone about something. If a person doesn’t like the truth, that’s their own problem
- Good cook, having been deprived most of her life, she learned to cook and cook well
- Always up for a challenge. Especially if there’s some kind of reward
Weaknesses:
- Aeryn is greedy, and this doesn’t just pertain to riches or rewards. It stems to things like affection, time of the people she cares for, things she has – things she doesn’t have. So on and so forth.
- She has a small circle of trusted allies. She doesn’t open up easily, and new people put her off entirely
- Unforgiving, once you’ve crossed her in one way or another, that’s it. Aeryn writes people off much easier than she lets them in
- Despite being brutally honest herself, she has a hard time believing the things other people tell her.
- She’s bitter, and while she hides it fairly well, it doesn’t change the fact. Seeing people happy and involved with each other, or seeing people with the things she /wants/ just makes it worse
Personality:
At first meeting, Aeryn seems cold, distant, and put off by new people, and she seems to have no problems with showing her disdain for dealing with people she doesn’t know. But for those who have managed to hold out and chip their way through the layers of defense wrapped about the woman, they come to find that Aeryn is really quite charming. She is beyond loyal to those she is close with, and to her cause, and while she will always be a fighter first, the woman does know compassion.
Unfortunately, even if people can get through her cold exterior, most are then put off by her greedy nature. Aeryn doesn’t try to hide this, she has no shame in the way that she is, and she carries herself with pride despite the fact. She has a constant desire for more than what she already has, be it wealth, power, or even something like food in some cases – though the need for more food typically earns more laughs than anything else. But it isn’t just materialistic things that she desires. Aeryn has an ever growing desire for affection, though luckily she has managed to not be forward about it – yet.
Bio:
To truly understand why Aeryn is the way that she is, one only needs to look at the way she grew up. Her parents split up when she was a small child, and she was left behind with her mother. The woman blamed her daughter daily for her father walking out on them, and the blame got more and more aggressive as time went on. With an abusive mother, and an absentee father, Aeryn’s trust issues began at a very young age.
Her mother’s abusive ways were not just physical, the woman loved to play psychological games and dished out mental abuse just as avidly. She would withhold things from Aeryn, things of importance that went beyond toys and possessions. Her mother would withhold food and water, only ordaining to give Aeryn the bare minimum of what was required to keep the girl alive. And so it was not only trust issues that developed early, but Aeryn’s greed as well. The desire for more, to have more was instilled in her cruelly, but it developed naturally over her time spent beneath her mother’s wrath.
As Aeryn got older, her greedy tendencies grew beyond food. Having spent her whole life doing without, once she was out on her own? All she wanted was anything and everything she couldn’t have before. Wealth, goods, food and drink, and power – though for Aeryn power came in the form of needing control. She had spent her whole life without being in control, and once she had found it, she wanted to be in control of everything. Every situation she came across, every person who entered her life – or attempted to at least. Her need for control cost her more than one relationship, friend or otherwise, and of course that only made her thicken the walls around herself.
This went on for years until she finally seemed to find her place. Aeryn found a group to accept her, to take her in as she was. The first thing to work on of course was her control issues, though that only came after some of her walls had come down. It took quite a bit of effort, a lot of patience, and plenty of time, but control was finally something the ravenette could let go of. The rest however? She’s still just as greedy for the things she didn’t have growing up. Despite the bonds she has created with those in her inner circle, she still doesn’t like to share her spoils – though with them it’s become more of a game to keep her eased up, rather than have her backlash and revert back to her old ways.
For the most part, Aeryn is under control. But there’s always something that can set her off and rile that desperate, greedy desire in her all over again.
