- Energy Capacitors
- Drawing upon the previous designs, the Aetharstar is tied into a network of sixteen overflow capacitors that are in turn tied into other systems with the ship to provide boosts of energy when necessary.
- Utilizing the same preservation technology in the Ramuh Power Core, the Aetharstar keeps the Sianteria in its solid crystal state.
- Due to the flexible nature and sheer power generation of the Sianteria, the device is able to be scaled up or down as needed for different classes of starships.
- Much like the Gravastar reactors, Aetharstar reactors can be linked together for larger vessels to allow for efficient use of space within a starship.
- The Sianteria within the reactor allows it to produce obscene amounts of power for the starship the Aetharstar is installed within and allows for the boosting of ship systems as needed with the overflow capacitors.
- Due to the preservation field, and the nature of Sianteria, the reactor is far more stable than those utilizing hypermatter, antimatter, and other common power sources.
- The size of the Aetharstar can be scaled up or down, depending on the ship class it is being used within, but even when powering something like a dreadnaught, the reactors will always be smaller than standard reactors.
- If the preservation field within the reactor is deactivated, the Sianteria crystal within will sublimate to its gaseous state and render the reactor useless until a new crystal is installed and the preservation field restored.
- Ships must be designed with the Aetharstar in mind, attempting to retrofit the reactor onto an older ship will short out the systems from a power overload.
- While safety measures and isolation protocols have been put in place for linked Aetharstars to avoid a complete cascade failure, a disruption of the chain does mean certain systems and sections of a ship will lose power until the chain is rebuilt.
With the Ramuh and Sianarc having finished their design phases and entering production, Doctor Hyrit Colso and his team turned their attention to finishing the designing of a new starship reactor to replace the older Gravastar+ reactors currently in use by Aurora Industries. Several design functions were carried over from the older reactor, mainly the ability for them to be linked together on larger ship models, while others were upgraded such as boosting the number of overflow energy capacitors from eight to sixteen. Much like the Ramuh Power Core, the reactor that would be known as the Aetharstar would use a crystal of Sianteria suspended in a preservation field as its main core.
The only other stipulation that Colso had been given from Ary Jaxson and Taeli was to make the size modular for different ship classes. The older Gravastars had not been adaptable in such a way, and it had been rather limiting for their use. Colso and his engineers were able to achieve this goal, designing several different sizes that could be produced for Aurora Industries to make use of. With the work done, Colso decided to once again to turn his attention back to supporting other divisions of Aurora Industries with his work.
