DESCRIPTION |
The Aether GS-01, also known as the Aether Gunstar, is the logical progression of the Aether Training Craft Military Model 7 (Aether TC-M7) and was designed and produced out of a very specific need that had only arisen due to the open declaration of war between the Galactic Alliance and the Mandalorian Enclave. With the conflict threatening to spill over throughout the Galaxy, it also opens the floodgates for those who would utilize the conflict as an avenue of opportunity to achieve their own goals and objectives. The resurgence of Imperial Rule and an expanding Sith Order has also deemed the production of the Aether Gunstar a necessity to provide a means to counter these forces. Designed to provide a heavy platform for skilled pilots and gunners, the Aether Gunstar was equipped with heavier armaments and increased defensive capabilities. However, many of these weapons are not easily aimed and are fixed in specific firing arcs and often require that the craft is aimed directly at a target to bring its weapons to bear. Further, focus and emphasis were placed on ensuring that the vessel was just as quick and maneuverable as other Starfighters, with the Aether Gunstar being reported as achieving increased acceleration at both Sublight and Light speeds. The primary mitigating factor in the deployment of these vessels is due to its overall size, preventing the craft from being deployed in squadron-sized formations compared to other gunships or starfighters. Those who have experience piloting or utilizing the Aether TC-M7 will find the Aether Gunstar an easily accessible craft as it shares a similar design layout for its tandem cockpit as is seen in the Aether TC-M7. The overall design of the Aether Gunstar, even with its flaws and drawbacks, still provides a heavy weapons platform that can be easily utilized by any skilled pilot or those who have the proper training with its predecessor training craft. The Aether Gunstar is entering the Galaxy at a time of renewed conflict and has much to prove to those who are willing to pilot these gunships into the fires of war. |
