After the Battle

105095.png

Kyrel was in and out of the bacta tank periodically in his home. He had suffered a lot and it had only been three days since the battle, His cybernetics were damaged, and his life support suit was damaged beyond repair, his droids were hard at work on rebuilding the suit, and would take weeks to recover thanks to Charlyra's electrical attacks his suit became heavily damaged, and Kyrel as well from it adding to the two lightsaber holes in his torso, and the slash to add as well from Trextan.

Kyrel's wounds would heal within time, but however his mind was not, his faith in the dark side had been shaken at the battle, and so he did not possess the arrogance he had earlier. He wasn't even confident anymore about being powerful as Lord Vader. The worst part next to his pride being shattered was his saber was gone, the last thing he remembered drifting in and out of consciousness was his saber missing, and he felt saddened by it. He had used it as his instrument throughout his time as a Disciple, and now he would have to construct a new one which wouldn't feel right.

Regardless as he was left to his thoughts he sensed someone approach the medical chamber.

Skylar hadn't had the chance to help Kyrel in his last battles. But she got to see him come back all beat up. In all honesty, she hid her feelings well, but she herself was worried about him. He probably wasn't the nicest Ren when she first met him as all formalities walked right out the door when she introduced herself. But there was something about him. Skye had sensed his issues before and she came to his rescue multiple times, giving him the advantage with her as his backup. They may not have gotten along well in personality, but they complimented each other well.. they were almost the Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker of the dark side.

It was tough for Skye to see Kyrel the way he was, but she promised herself to be there for him. She felt guilty that she wasn't there for him on this last battle, but at least he was still alive. His armor took a heavy hit from a deathblow and even worse, his lightsaber had been taken. She debated going and stealing it back, but she didn't know how much Kyrel would like or dislike that. After all, Skye was a hunter. It was what she was born to do.

Skye had to see him though. She visited him any chance she had, just to see his progress. Skylar was dressed pretty dark today, wearing mainly black recently. It wouldn't seem too off for Kyrel, but she wore alot of black. Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, she walked towards the medical chamber, the guards standing straight, saluting to her as she walked in.

As he sensed Skylar, approach he opened his eyes. They were a glowing bright yellow, and he gazed at her with them. She was wearing all black with what would anyone assume, was a look of sympathy. He had not brought her to the battle because before that it was just a humanitarian effort, and everything happened so fast with the GA attacking and killing their scientists, that he had no time to send a transmission ordering her to go from Dosaan to Kaeshana. Besides he did not want her to die for he had plans, and she could not afford to be lost so he faced two Jedi on his own, and managed to kill one, and weakening the other at the expense of intense injuries done to him.

The med droid approached the tank, and coldly drained the tank of the healing liquids.Out of the steamed filled liquids emerged Kyrel in his disfigured state. He was lifted up by two mechanical arms, and groaned in pain as the med droid tapped more on the computer. The computer brought in a set of more arms from the hidden racks painfully attaching his mechanical limbs into his body, as the process was caried out Kyrel gritted his teeth painfully before it was over. He was than lowered and stood on the ground. His cloak was than dropped on him covering his body. He got up and shook his head which was disoriented from the long period spent in the tank. He looked at Skylar right in front of him, and said coldly in almost displeased manner. "Walker? I don't remember summoning you."

As Skylar walked into the room a whole new feeling crackled through the air. What that feeling was, nobody knew. It was even absent to Skye as well. She only walked so far up the ramp to where he sat in the tank. She only wanted to be so close. When Kyrel's eyes opened and looked upon her, chills went down her spine. His eyes always held such an intensity, that her mind told her to look away, but her heart couldn't resist looking into them. Skylar didn't realize that while lost in her thoughts, a sympathetic look spread right across her face just like the red shirt in a crowd of black shirts. But when she realized it, she shook her head slightly, replacing it with a non-emotional look. Kyrel may have been in much pain from the battle, but truth be told, Skye's heart hurt the worst.

Skylar knew he had plans for her, it just didn't feel right when he was injured in a battle and she had to just sit aside and act like nothing was wrong. Skye was a very strong willed and tough woman by military training, but even as a dark sider, she still had a heart and a conscience. As she watched Kyrel, a medical droid came up and drained the tank and then he was pulled out and given arms, etc. Skye was probably the only other one who had ever seen Kyrel without his armor. It didn't take much convincing, but he made her promise him that she'd never ever tell anyone of his true state without his armor. Still to this day, she had that secret with her and it was never going anywhere except between the two of them.

When Kyrel was stood up on the ground, Skye saw him shake his head as his sight then rested upon her. Any normal person who looked upon this man in this state, would have run or screamed in fear, but Skye had no intentions to do any of the above. In fact, her eyes held no fear or disdain. When his eyes rested upon her, she neither flinched or looked away cowering. She stood up straight and stayed where she was. When he spoke, she barely recognized his voice without it being distorted by his mask, but she still knew the voice. He spoke to her in a very cold, rude manner, but it was no different than she expected. This was a man of his privacy and she respected it. Even so, she tried checking on him at least two times a week. It didn't matter if he called for her or not. There was something about him her heart saw and she wasn't letting go of that feeling until she found what it was. Holding her head high, not in a nasty manner, but in a proper one and also to look at him, she responded.

"I just came to see how you were progressing."

He watched her, and paced the anger evident in the force. Although he didn't mind the company and found the Mandalorian servant attractive, he was now married to the dark side, and besides he was not the same man since his accident. Thomas Kyrel died and only Kyrel Ren remained. He would remain that way, for perhaps the remainder of his life. His mind was heavily on the events of Kaeshana, of the battle that he had fought and narrowly managed to escape death taking a Jedi with him in the process.

He kept walking backwards and forwards, and than responded to Skylar when she was finished. He said in a irritated way but it sounded in an almost deadly calm. "Oh how nice of you to come see me, I have well would you call this progression." He looked at her angrily, his yellow eyes cutting her down, and gestured to the two pieces of scar tissue from the holes he gained in the duel. He said as his tone of his raspy voice clearly started rising.
"You must have heard what happened on Kaeshana yes? On how i faced two Jedi and was nearly killed by that woman, and than killing her in turn. But i was left damaged and my weapon stolen." He said in a snarl. His anger had not dissipated and so didn't care if he lashed out at his servant.

They watched each other as Kyrel paced back and forth in front of her. He was obviously pissed.. and since it seemed he had no one else to take that anger out on, he looked to Skylar as his punching bag. She'd dealt with this her entire life and this was not going to be another one of those times. The only word that echoed in her mind at this moment was "servant". She hated it. She hated it with a passion and she got slightly angered by it. Skye knew that's what he thought of her. She knew how ticked of Kyrel could get. What he didn't know was how pissed she got when pushed over the edge. For being an apprentice, she could cause quite the disturbance and a whole lot of something in about two seconds flat.

Skye new the battle changed him. That was part of her issue. Kyrel was different now.. he wasn't the man she new days before. Kaeshanna had taken his soul and left the shell of what he once was. When he spoke, Skylar knew that same coldness in his voice. It resonated within her. It was unknown of where, but she knew it. The dead calm that came off of him was intense, but she could do it better. Hearing what he said, her jaw just jutted to the right slightly and her gaze hardened the very slightest.

Being reminded of Kaeshana was like ice spreading across an ocean. It bothered her and she wished he'd stop bringing it up. She would respond, but she took a short moment after he finished to do so. Her thoughts were racing a million miles a second, it was so hard to think one thing at a time. Skye felt as if she would explode and frost spread in a small circle around her feet.

"Yes.. I did hear about it.. I should have been there, fighting with you. I didn't sense anything this time though."

she responded in a bit of a frosty tone herself. What he had said pushed her over her limit a little and the frost the was around her feet, unknowingly spread a couple more inches. Truth be told, she never even knew it was happening at all. She wanted revenge. Kyrel kept pacing but Skye crossed her arms and turned to the right slightly. As she would speak, she would turn towards Kyrel in the process.

"I want revenge."

she said firmly. Her voice only wavered the very slightest when she spoke again, but it seemed to echo around the room when she said revenge. Only Kyrel and Skye would take notice. She then continued.

"I swear... I'll hunt down the Jedi who stole your saber and get it back. I'll kill that... thief if I have to!"

Skye was getting more and more angry as she went. The frost spread more and more the angrier she got. Her eyes even started glowing blue like they did whenever she used her ice magic. This would be one of the first times Kyrel would actually see Skylar partly pissed off.

What Kyrel was feeling while he was pure rage, and he enjoyed feeling that from her, he felt that she had promising potential, and could perhaps one day become his apprentice. But at this moment hearing what she had said fueled his anger to devastating new heights. His yellow eyes was fixed upon her gently, at first he gently applied pressure to her wind pipe, like the touch of a jealous lover slowly squeezing it, and than stopped preferring to reprimand her in a completely different manner.

He said in a deadly calm tone, it sounded so cold that if it were to happen Skylar would freeze right on the spot. "You sound pathetic girl, Do you believe you can take on a Dark Jedi Mastar and win. I think not think carefully next time, and try not to be so hasty in acquiring a quick and pointless death. The saber is lost for now, and it is not now that i will get it back, I will get it back or perhaps you will when we are strong enough." Kyrel had had enough the way that she sounded so arrogant, would lead nothing more to her own folly. He had once been so sure of that himself but since Kaeshana he had not been right, sure he killed his first Jedi but that didn't amount the crushing defeat he had suffered. He felt that the dark side had abandoned him, his faith was shaken and before despair set in, anger would take the first shot it had at his overall reasoning.

He kept his pacing for a few more minutes before walking up, and looking at her. He had a look of annoyance about him, and so asked her coldly. "What are you going to do now, while your here Walker?

Yeah, Kyrel had a point. She was being pathetic. What Skylar felt was new. All she knew was pain and the feeling she got for him was definitely unknown. She had no family or friends, so he was practically all she knew. Then all of a sudden, she sensed his anger grow, but he looked at her differently, but felt pressure on her throat. That just ticked her off even more and her eyes started glowing a little brighter and the temperature in the room started dropping slightly until he then decided to be more verbal than physical.

The way he spoke to her, would have anyone cower in fear, but she had no fear of Kyrel. She had no reason to be afraid. But he was right.. she needed more training and patience. He sounded so cold for someone who was actually helping her. She may have sounded arrogant to him, but when they first met, he was pretty arrogant himself.

"You're right.. I need more training and a little more control over myself before I rush into a fight unprepared."

She responded. As much as she hated admitting it, he was right in this case. Skylar was over reacting a little bit and she needed to have her head about herself. She watched him as he paced a little longer and then came up to her. He was still annoyed and he didn't even try hiding it. He asked her what she was going to do.

"I don't know.. I can leave if you don't wish to have my presence or if you don't mind me being here, I can meditate or something.."

she said. Either way, she still carried a burden that he didn't know about.

He watched and pondered for a moment on what to do with the girl, he thought that time and time again she was becoming an annoyance. He had hoped that she would become a key part in the coming war with the galactic alliance. He just stood there for a moment thinking of what to do, this time more calm than he had been, but his tone remained the same as he spoke. "Than if you wish to stay than do as you please." He than moved into the living room to gaze out into the streets of Avalonia.

He had breathed a sigh watching the bustling city, his defeat had teared him down what he once was, and it made him hate himself all the more fueling the dark side. But drawing heavily upon the dark side is what cost him the battle, and that is what he hated the most. His suit was wrecked, his saber stolen and worst of all his pride now shattered. He gazed out the transparasteel windows, and seemed to be in deep thought.
