STRENGTHS

Class 0.8 Hyperdrive - Due to the intent of producing a vessel focused on reconnaissance capabilities, the Agave-class was designed with a faster-than-normal Hyperdrive. This allowed the vessel to rapidly jump to Hyperspace if the vessel was detected; allowing it to escape any potential pursuers.

Gravity Well Projector - Often deployed as Pickets to provide early warning to larger formations or act in a wolf pack to hunt down enemies; they were designed to carry a smaller Interdictor Field Generator to assist in this role.

WEAKNESSES

Minimal Armaments - The Agave-class was not designed to serve as a mainline warship and is only equipped with a minimal armament. Though capable of handling small vessels and starfighters on its own, it would require multiple vessels to prove a threat to a larger vessel such as a Frigate or Cruiser.

Negative Support - Much of the internal room of the vessel was utilized to prioritize engine capabilities, the inclusion of the interdictor field generator, as well as the additional systems required for the upgraded Hyperdrive. Due to this, the vessel lacks any dedicated hangar capacity and is also incapable of even carrying a singular smaller craft.

Class 0.8 Hyperdrive - During testing the upgraded Hyperdrive Generator of the Agave-class was shown to be prone to overheating if utilized too frequently or in rapid succession. They were also shown to be fragile, with any moderate damage or heavy strike to the engine compartment or main drive system rendering the hyperdrive inoperable.

DESCRIPTION

As war continues to ravage the Galaxy and the Galactic Alliance is pulled into new Conflicts both at home and abroad, the need to gather information rapidly has become paramount. The Agave-class was designed to provide the Galactic Alliance with the means to remove the fog of war and reveal the secrets that lay beyond in the darkness. As it was designed with reconnaissance in mind, the vessels were provided with an upgraded Class 0.8 Hyperdrive Engine to ensure that the vessel was able to rapidly traverse Galactic Alliance Territory, or just as rapidly escape from an enemy if detected. However, during initial testing, it was revealed that these Hyperdrives were notoriously fragile and prone to being rendered inoperable if the vessel's engine compartment took any moderate damage or a heavy enough strike to the main drive system. Dispite its size, the vessel was also designed to house a smaller Gravity Well Projector to assist in its role as a Picket Ship, allowing these vessels to prevent an enemy Starship from fleeing into Hyperspace. The inclusion of this Interdictor Field Generator, as well as the room required to outfit the vessel with improved engines and its upgraded hyperdrive has resulted in much of the interior space being utilized. This means that the vessel lacks any dedicated hangar capacity, and is even incapable of ferrying a singular small craft as it lacks a hangar for such a vessel. Likewise, the prioritizing of engine systems and the inclusion of a small Gravity Well Projector has also resulted in the vessel being lightly armed. Drawbacks aside, the Agave-class excels in its designated roles, both as a Picket Ship as well as a Reconnaissance vessel that can be utilized to great effect by a skilled Commander. Its ability to rapidly jump into or out of a system coupled with its Interdictor Field Generator makes even a singular vessel a boon to a fleet; not to mention what an entire pack of these vessels could be capable of accomplishing. Likewise, it should be noted that the production of the vessel follows a focus on efficiency, as the basic hull design and systems of the vessel are also utilized in the production of the Warrior-class Gunship.
