DESCRIPTION

The second major expansion set to be released by Galactic Illusionary Gaming for its card game: Age of Chaos. Titled Light of Ashla, the new expansion was designed by the company to focus on those that serve and use the light side of the Force, specifically the various Jedi Orders and movements that have existed in the modern era. Consisting of 254 cards, while slightly smaller than Industrial Politics, the set more than makes up for it with an emphasis on growth for your cards. Forceful Being cards now have, as detailed in a preview release, a new mechanic called Rank that details how powerful that Being card is and what its powers can effect. Tied into Rank is the activated ability Ascension that allows the player to place the next Rank higher on the card, giving it more power and access to a growing list of abilities and keywords.

Holocron Artifacts also have been slightly reworked, with many of them having the new Instruction activated ability that allows a higher Rank Forceful Being equipped with the Holocron card to teach an ability from the Holocron to a lower Rank Forceful Being.

For this set, the company decided to eschew creating more Planeswalker cards and opted to introduce a new type of card known as a Legacy card. These Legacy cards represent some of the more significant Jedi that have arisen in the modern era, with ten cards focusing on those from the era of the first modern Galactic Republic and ten cards focusing on those from the first Galactic Alliance. Most Legacy cards have a unique and powerful ability or keyword that is exclusive to that card, and any potential cards that might be made of that individual later on.

Also introduced into this new set are the Force Power Action cards. Like Action cards from previous sets, these cards can be used on either player's turn, but each details a Force Power and thus are colored, a first for the game. In creating the set, and for those that collect the cards, they will notice that besides one card, there is not a single Black card and very few Red cards but there is an abundance of White, Blue, and Green cards. A hint towards the company's planned third major expansion.
