- Probe mimics the behavior of avian birds to more efficiently blend into the environment.
- Equipped with advanced sensors and communication devices, capable of storing many petabytes of information and transmitting information over long distances.
- Single repeating blaster and nanofiber claws can content with mundane threats.
- Self-Destruct device imbedded in chassis can be used as a last resort to prevent the probe from falling into enemy hands.
- Information Retrieval: The Agzonûboj excels at acquiring, cataloging, and transmitting data back to its handlers in an efficient and coherent manner. It can store up to multiple petabytes of comprehensive data and communicate said data across long distances.
- High Explosive: Should the Agzonûboj come under threat of capture by enemy forces, or if the droid's probability algorithm calculates that the information it's holding could be retrieved by the Empire's foes after its bodily destruction, the probe will initiate a self-destruction sequence that completely eradicates the droid's physical body and everything around it for roughly one meter.
- Lightly Armed: Equipped with only a small repeating blaster and nanofiber talons, the Agzonûboj is not designed for extensive combat against enemy forces. It will use the weapons only if necessary and to impede its assailants so that it can make a quick get-a-way if possible.
- Destruction Preferable To Capture: While the self-destruct mechanism is a handy way of keeping sensitive information out of enemy hands, the fact is that any information not transmitted back to the droid's handlers is permanently lost if the droid self-destructs.
The design inspiration for the Agzonûboj is directly tied to its namesake, a native reptavian predator from Korriban known as the Agzonûboj or Fire Hawk by the native inhabitants. Long since rendered extinct, the Agzonûboj is featured heavily in ancient and modern Sith iconography as a symbol of endurance and pride.
In an ancient Sith tale, the origin of the Agzonûboj came about when the Agzonûboj's animal rival set fire to the hawk's tail while it was sleeping. Instead of being consumed by the flames, the hawk instead used the pain and hatred of being burned alive to transform itself into a beautiful display of color and elegance. However, the standard design of the Agzonûboj probe droid did not feature it's mythical counterparts brilliant colors and patterns and was instead painted a consistent matte black. What color was present primarily was generated from the droid's single photoreceptor, which shone a menacing red.
The probe was equipped with a single repeating blaster and three exceptionally sharp carbon nanofiber durasteel talons to defend itself with, though flight was preference to a fight. In the event that the Agzonûboj was threatened with capture, it would willingly self-destruct to preserve the information it had obtained during its reconnaissance.
