Personality:
Hypercompetitive, intelligent, determined and stubborn Alais Kaun possesses the trademark persistence and discipline of a passionate and dedicated professional athlete. Alais is a highly skilled and knowledgeable combatant and this was true even prior to her beginning a career as a professional soldier. Alais can come across as somewhat eccentric her extroversion is extreme which introverts and secretive personalities often find irritating or unwelcome, she will make small-talk with anyone and everyone if she believes their ears are open. While Alais enjoys working in a team, she is hypercompetitive and as a result, would prefer such a team be small, she thrives in working alone and revels in the success of victory that is earned through her own hard toil but conversely will eagerly accept responsibility for her own failures and enjoys lone wolf operations for those reasons, as she wins or fails off of her own merits rather than being carried or supported by others. This behaviour and inclination however can lead others to perceive Alais as arrogant or stubborn and those are certainly personality flaws the young woman possesses.​

Alais isn't vain but she does possess a narcissistic streak and believes it is inevitable that whatever she chooses to devote herself to in terms of skills she will eventually succeed all others. While it is true she is extraordinarily talented Alais's own high standards and self-expectations can lead the woman to overstretch herself operationally and professionally which could prove to have hazardous consequences. Alais is a valorous and selfless individual and will willingly place herself in danger to protect the safety and health of others, she has a strong hatred for the Sith and by extension is reluctant to trust adherents to the Dark Side of the force with this extending even unto the Jedi, believing both ideological groups' clashing is responsible for many conflicts in the universe. When Alais loves or hates she does so with an intense passion and is stubbornly loyal and will do anything within the confines of society's laws and her own moral code to help any close friends or family members even to the detriment of her own health and safety. Alais ironically admires Liberal Democracies and Authoritarian Autocracies although for different reasons, and actually disdains the New Imperial Order's feudal system of government, believing quietly that authority and governance must be desperately centralized.

Coming equipped with a temper, Alais can find herself in situations where due to her anger she makes grievous errors of judgement which create vulnerabilities in combat situations. Having fought the Sith in the Third Imperial Civil War, Alais is openly hostile towards theocracies and organised religions treating the openly spiritual those who believe in the force as zealots.

STRENGTHS:​
  • Ambi-dexterity: Unusual among Humans, Alais is ambidextrous and possesses comparable strength and dexterity in both hands this can be useful when using certain weapons or when one hand is injured as a result of combat. Alais can confidently and competently transition dominant hands without sacrificing her combat effectiveness.
  • Gunslinger: Experienced with personal defence weapons and sidearms such as pistols, Alais's go-to ranged weapons are generally pistols in duplicate she is a highly-trained and proficient combatant with this class of weapons. It is typical of Alais to draw from any thigh holster a slugthrower pistol and put five accurate rounds on a target at range in around two seconds, becoming only more accurate with blasters where there is generally less recoil. She is extraordinarily dangerous and precise with these weapons. Although, this advantage disappears or is irrelevant at long range where Alais's preferred weapons themselves are not designed to be used.
  • Martial Master: Disciplined, determined and immensely skilled in combat sports, Alais is an extremely challenging opponent in disarmed hand-to-hand fighting, the young woman has been fighting almost as long as she has been walking. It would take extraordinary subject factors or someone equally trained, experienced and naturally talented to generally have a fair chance of besting Alais in a physical confrontation.
WEAKNESSES:​
  • Cultural attitudes toward Ambi-dexterity: Alais is ambidextrous and uses her left-hand for a variety of everyday tasks including writing where appropriate, there are some cultural groups that associate left-handedness rightly or wrongly with wickedness or evil. This is often attributed in part to the fact that the ancient Pureblooded Sith were allegedly predominantly left-handed. This outward ability to use her left-hand can skew the disposition of foreigners from backward parts of the galaxy negatively against Alais.
  • Short-fuse: A character flaws of Alais's is that she while being slow to violence is rather quick to anger and will like a bull begin to focus on the source of her ire to the exclusion of other factors, this can be crucial in combat and can be exploited by a shrewd opponent who can perceive the woman's frustration to goad her into taking bad positions or predictable manoeuvres.
  • Only Human: Unfortunately, Alais for all of her talent, skill and considerable training is still only a Human and there are many species in the wide broad galaxy with physiological characteristics that naturally make them significantly more physically powerful than any baseline Human such as Wookies or Trandoshans which have great natural stature. If Alais were to attempt a wrestle with members of these species, for example, the chances of an undesirable outcome where Alais is injured or worse dramatically increase.
[APPEARANCE]​
Alais is an extremely athletic young woman with a soft unmarred complexion that can serve to undermine a commander's confidence in Alais's abilities. The woman has fought dozens upon dozens of fights as a professional athlete and it doesn't show in the form of physical injury or scarring thanks to modern medicine. Alais's skin is porcelain fair unblemished and close to a shade of alabaster hinting towards a life adverse and avoidant of manual labour or significant exposure to ultraviolet radiation from her homeworld's star. Among Alais's most striking features are high cheekbones which feature proudly on the face. Additionally, Alais's full eyebrows arch softly over the top of a pair of soft kind eyes accentuated by long natural lashes which sit in almond-shaped sockets their iris' blue but pupils are flanked by a ring of hazel giving the illusion that Alais's iris feature two different colours. Alais's nose is sharp and narrow vaguely resembling an arrow when viewed from the side and sits above full lips that look like a cupid's bow which conceal two rows of large straight white teeth, implying a history of orthodontics. Alais's hands and wrists are dainty albeit still creased from use with short stout fingers which are useful for exerting a secure grip on weapons or an opponent in a grapple at the sacrifice of having reduced the maximum amount of surface area that can be gripped.

[BIOGRAPHY]​
1st Lieutenant Alais Farelle Kaun is a commissioned officer in Aurek Company, 1st Battalion of the 65th Advanced Reconnaissance Division a "Special Purpose Division" of the Stormtrooper Corps that is under the operational command of the Navy's Special Warfare Command, they are a special-operations capable unit of Stormtroopers with specialist equipment primarily employed as drop-pod shock infantry. Alais has cut her teeth on the Third Imperial Civil War and has fought in enough of its' battles to be considered a seasoned veteran.


Alais Farelle Kaun is a Citizen of Corellia and Galidraan, she was born on Human-dominated Galidraan in the Outer Rim Territories and attended tertiary education as an adolescent at the University of Coronet City on the Core World of Corellia. While attending university Alais demonstrated supreme athletic skill and talent for combat sports and competed across the galaxy including her homeworld of Galidraan where she held title belts in different disciplines simultaneously. Alais' coach during her collegiate combat sports career was none other than the legendary Berach "The Guv'na" Ulrand, who is also rumoured to be her illegitimate Father.

Graduating from Coronet City University with an undergraduate degree in criminal justice and politics, Alais began a career in the Corellian Security Force and entered the specialised Coronet Highway Patrol. At some point, Alais was distinguished in her career as a CSF Officer when she personally prevented an active shooter from entering Corellia's parliament nearly at the cost of her own life. With the formation of the Galactic Alliance, Alais was one of the initial Deputy Marshals of the reconstituted Marshals' Service and became a member of its' Tactical Response Team wearing a navy blue suit of armour reminiscent of ancient Republic Soldiers.

Deeply disturbed by the Sith Empire's rampage through the Outer Rim Territories, Alais felt compelled to leave the core and the Alliance behind and pursue a career with the New Imperial Order out of a sense of loyalty to the Outer Rim Territories and a desire to protect them from the bloodthirsty predations of what she believes to be an order of theocratic religious zealots.

Sometime after 864 ABY Alais participated in the invasion of Bastion and was ordered to accompany Darth Hekate, a Sith Lord who defected to the New Imperial Order's side in the civil war to an ancient Sith Libary. As pre-planned Operation: KHYBER DARK was launched after Alais and her Special Forces Operators gained access to the library's arcane contents with Darth Hekate's help. Alais and her squad engaged Darth Hekate and with the element of surprise successfully neutralized the Sith Lord before recovering the remains and holocrons contained within the library.

Against her better judgement, Alais disobeyed operational orders to immediately return to base in favour of taking a detour and going to the aid of a squad of beleaguered Storm Commandos. Alais and her Troopers failed to save the Commandos save one, upon returning to their Star Destroyer with the crippled remains of Darth Hekate and a library of Holocrons, Alais' officer commanding threatened the woman with charges although did not proceed. Though not openly acknowledged it is speculated that Alais' previous romantic relationship with the Navy commissioned officer in question influenced that decision.

Alais has continued to serve the New Imperial Order with often insubordinate distinction and often co-operates with other Special Forces units, her mind has begun turning to life after the Sith Empire has been destroyed and quietly hopes to return to the Galactic Alliance if at all possible and re-enter the Alliance Marshals' Service if at all possible. Though, with the diplomatic tension between the New Imperial Order and Galactic Alliance Alais worries that she will be forced to choose between Galidraan and Corellia. Alais' childhood and family tied to the former and adulthood linked to the latter, should the situation become desperate Alais has contemplated the possibility she may have to surrender with the intention of defecting to the Galactic Alliance if an opportunity to discharge does not arrive prior to the anticipated New Imperial-Galactic Alliance war.
