I don't think I can remember doing one of these, ever. Maybe I have, maybe not, not sure. But I wanted to focus more on the current characters I've been writing, what to improve on, what to do better, and what I could expand on. I don't intend to ever do a "critique of Alan", because holy shit I've been on this website for ten years. I've been on Chaos longer than I've been in the military.

So, the chief Characters I've been writing are:

Feydrik Munin

Wedge Draav

Torn Eskol

Sid Berik

and the ever-elusive

Nej Tane .

I may rotate to other characters, but I find it much easier as a person to only juggle a few at a time. I've avoided burnout for all these years by rotating them as often as I do. That being said, I don't know how people haven't gotten burnt out writing the same character over and over and over for many years or at least a long time. That requires dedication and focus I don't think I have as a writer, or at least, not as my writing style. So props to you. Just could never do it myself.

Though his story has ended, I've been a fan of Tulan Kor. I'm not big on military types, but there's something about the way you wrote him that always stuck with me. He wasn't big on fanfare or heroism, just doing what needed to be done.

I always liked the grumpy quasi-uncle dynamic he had with Thirdas, and by extension, Nida. He kept her safe during her time on Dorin, and spared her when he could've had his revenge from how she'd scarred him. His death was a pretty abrupt, solemn sacrifice, and I like how you don't shy away from exploring some of the more unpleasant humanizing emotions – fear, regret, etc. – that some military writers don't necessarily like to portray in such a frank light.

Also, I gotta read up on Wedge stuff.
