OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To flesh out one of the Helix Syndicate’s higher-profile mercenaries.
  • Image Credit: Gand Findsman from Wookiepedia
  • Role: A mercenary commonly employed by the Helix Syndicate.
  • Links: N/A
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: 31
  • Force Sensitivity: Force Sensitive (Very low level, Not traditionally trained)
  • Species: Gand (Breather)
  • Appearance: Aldabert is rather tall for a Gand, but still sits a few inches short of most other humanoids. He is fond of his Findsman robes, even though they are rather ragged and basically falling apart. He wears some token armor beneath his regular attire, but generally it’s nothing special. He is in top physical condition and his breather mask is very well maintained. The Gand women would find him handsome if any could be found outside of Gand.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Aldabert
  • Loyalties: Helix Syndicate
  • Wealth: Comfortable for a mercenary
  • Skills: Aldabert’s major skillset is fighting, though he’s far from an unintelligent brute. He can handle explosives, shoot heavy weapons, and hold his own in a melee engagement. Thanks to his background, he has a talent for tracking people and demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the history of the Gand, their home planet, and specifically their many Findsmen traditions. He is especially well-versed in the obscure, shamanistic rituals of the Disciples of Qol-Qelop. Don’t be fooled, he is not especially Force Sensitive.
  • Personality: Aldabert has a very strong work ethic for a mercenary. He gets the job done as long as he’s paid, no if-ands-or-buts. He does not seem overly concerned with what jobs he takes on or whether or not they might be considered “morally acceptable.” Again, so long as he’s paid. Aldabert frequently brings a can-do and determined attitude to any job he can. He enjoys talking and, if permitted, will be all too happy to talk about the various Findsmen traditions of Gand. He is similarly interested in other martial traditions and big guns, like the repeating cannon he uses. He can both listen to others speak and speak himself on these topics for hours on end.
COMBAT INFORMATION
HISTORY

Aldabert was a wayward Gand. Raised offworld, he found his way back when he was still a teenager to pursue a career among the legendary Findsmen. Sadly, due to his status as an offworlder and outrageous accent because of it, most of the Findsmen Sects would accept him. He ended up joining the Disciples of Qol-Qelop, a rather atypical and obscure sect, to say the least. The Disciples of Qol-Qelop were competent martial artists and relatively skilled with the famous Gand Shockstaff, they instead found their focus on heavy weapons. Big guns, explosives, that sort of thing. It wasn’t orthodox in the slightest and not what one would associate with Findsmen, but then again, Aldabert never figured himself for an orthodox Gand himself.

For much of his life, Aldabert lived, trained, and worked with the Disciples of Qol-Qelop. While he was a competent melee fighter and decent enough at the Gand martial arts, his true talent lied with his Staccato Lightning repeating cannon. Aldabert loved that cannon and many a criminal element found its end at its hand. The Disciples of Qol-Qelop were the Findsmen you called in for the entrenched criminals, the ones you couldn’t sneak your way past or really intended to capture alive. Between their bizarre conduct, reputation for taking jobs the other Findsmen wouldn’t, and their destructive tendencies, the Disciples were never really on friendly terms with the other Findsmen.

Eventually these hostilities boiled over into open war as they often do. The Disciples fought valiantly but were killed to the last man by their enemies. Aldabert decided that while he liked his friends and was a strict student of Qol-Qelop, he enjoyed being alive much better. Rather than die, he fled Gand and became a smalltime bounty hunter and mercenary. Eventually he came into the services of the Helix Syndicate. Aldabert found that they were a lucrative and well-paying outfit and so began to work for them exclusively, fulfilling all sorts of despicable tasks in their name. A small, quiet part of his mind hated him for it. He had been a Findsman. Years ago, he would have slaughtered the Syndicate to a man.

But the Findsmen he ran with were honorable. They were lawful. They played by the rules. And now they were all dead, killed by their distant cousins over petty disagreements. Aldabert is not the last of the Disciples of Qol-Qelop. Not even close: that part of him died on Gand. He chose to bury this part of his history rather than face it, and no longer pays the Disciples of Qol-Qelop any mind.
