STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
+) Rich: To be more specific, part of one of the top twelve most richest families in the planet of Kuat. Her wealth comes from a variety of different sources, one of them being her family's fortune and investment in the KDY, as well as her formerly successful career working for the Kuat Drive Yard's Research and Development Department.
+) Persuasive: Alena's powerful gift of persuasion was what allowed to get into politics. She is very capable diplomat and negotiator, although at times her persuasion tactics could involve a slight bribe or two.
+) On the Winning Side: Or "on the right side of history" as Alena liked to call it, she has gained a lot from being part of the winning side in politics on Kuat. This involved her strong support in advocating for a reform of Kuat's political system from a Aristocracy into a new Monarchy, and supporting @[member="Lady Silencia"]'s steady rise to power in Kuat.
-) Ambitious: Like most of her fellow people of Kuat, Beswin was ambitious enough to smoothly move forward towards her goals, but not too ambitious to gain the disfavor of the people and leaders of herplanet.
-) Greedy: Beswin is not satisfied with her current vast family wealth, and always puts corporate and financial profits ahead of all else. As senator, she is more concerned about KDY than the Republic.

BIOGRAPHY:
Alena was born into the Beswin family, one of the most wealthy families that resided in the planet Coruscant, with much political clout in their province. By the time Paega was about three years old, her father had gained a seat as the representative that represented their province in Kuat's Sovereign Council. Alena's father gained her family a lot of fame during his time as representative, having made a great representative of the people. He boasted having made several accomplishments during his time in office as representative, such as assisting in Kuat greatly gain in profits as the planet and its infamous shipyard recovered from the Gulag Virus. After her father retired from his position due to his elder age, the Beswin family gave up their seat in the twelve member council for the time being, the seat being taken by Darren Brunswick, who also soon became the Senator of Kuat.
By age seventeen, Alena Beswin had graduated from one of Kuat's greatest universities and had been employed into the Kuat Drive Yard's Research and Development Department. There, she worked her way up, managing to become one of the managers of the department by the age twenty-six. Alena had helped reinnovate Kuat's ship products to be safer and easier to fly. Many of Beswin's ideas for the department were successful, which in turn raked in lots of credits for her. At that point in life, she had been suggested to become part of politics of Kuat, like the way her father had been. The people of her province were more than happy to have Alena serve as their representative again, having seen how successful her father had been. The next thing she knew, Alena had become part of the Kuat's Sovereign Council like her father, at the age of thirty-two. In office as the representative, Beswin voted to kick out Brunswick from his seat in the council after finding him guilty of inadequately representing their planet in the Galactic Senate.
For several years, Alena was part of the Sovereign Council, and gained the likes of the upper Echelons of her planet. They had found her to be strong-willed, patient, and an intelligent politician. After serving a few years as part of the council, it happened so that Devra Winji, the former senator representing Kuat in the Republic Senate, had retired from her office due to starting a family. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Alena decided that she would give a try at becoming Kuat's new senator. (Silencia maybe we could RP the part where Alena becomes a senator?)
