"What ever happened to Ontonas anyway?"

dUDmqXR.jpg

  • Name: Alexander Rook Ontonas
  • Age: 30
  • Faction: None
  • Rank: Former Commander
  • Species: Lorridian/Human
  • Gender: Male
  • Height: 6'3
  • Weight: 212 LBS
  • Eyes: Blue
  • Hair: Blond
  • Skin: White
  • Force Sensitivity: Negative

Weaknesses and Strengths:

+ Technical Specialist: Rook is a combat engineer in every way. From repairing a gunship, to slicing a door, he's your man.

+ Trained Combat Pilot: Rook's initial MOS had him piloting the Republic's dropships. Performance scores and a change of the army's needs had him transfer to an Infantry position.

+ Bookworm: Rook likes books. He is an avid collector of the now ancient objects, and what he cannot find physically is almost always on one of his datapads. This knowledge can be helpful in the most odd of places.

+Lorridian: Rook was raised on the language of hand signals and gestures of his people. He is a master of speaking without speaking, and deciphering people's emotions and feelings from their posture.

- Comfortable Armor: Soldiers are often trained to believe their armor is a second skin. This lesson resonated in Rook's very core, and while it is designed to give them confidence, it has given him a bit too much. He will put himself in situations with terrible odds with the thought that his armor will keep him alive. It is quite the issue.

-Not a Natural Speaker: Rook is a Lorridian. His family rarely spoke during his childhood, and he only mastered basic at the age of fourteen. While he can fully speak it and understand it; he will have to stop to think about his words, and work to decipher the words of others.

-Cybernetic Lung: Rook's breathing is supported by one organic lung, and a single cybernetic replacement. If an EMP grenade is used on him at close quarters, the defenses on the lung will fail, and he will likely fall unconscious and cease breathing soon after.

Biography: The story of Alexander Ontanas began twenty three years ago on the world of Lorrd. The first son of a dentist and a house wife was born after a troubling pregnancy in his family's home. The youngest sibling of three elder sisters; his father was rejoiced to have an heir to the family name. While not particularly powerful, the Ontanas family had a long and proud history of men and women who had helped influence the twists and turns of the galaxy. Hoping to keep this tradition moving forward, Alexander and his sisters were schooled in as many subjects as they could master at such a young age by their mother.

Speaking verbally was almost never used in the household, as their mother desperately wanted the children to hold on to their heritage. Words were conveyed with body movements and hand gestures. Alexander's childhood was a bit troubling as he grew in that small household. From birth, he had been prone to breathing problems, and at the age of nine, he was rushed to a hospital after collapsing.

As it was, Alexander's right lung had been deformed at birth and had only deteriorated. Strapped for credits, his parents hired an electrician to build him a cybernetic lung. They vowed to clone him a real organic organ when it became viable, but that time never came.

Alexander grew healthy from that point on. He spent more time reading than outside with other boys and girls of his age, and often pestered his father to see their old collection of books. Physical copies of information written on pages seemed so much more real to the boy, and he quickly grew addicted to collecting and hoarding whatever pieces of literature he could find. Because of this, people came to call him Book as a joke, and it stuck.

His fascination with heroic tales and the accomplishments of great warriors drove Book to the idea of the military, much to his mother's disdain. At the age of seventeen, he signed a contract with the Galactic Marines, kissed his sisters and mother goodbye, and boarded a transport to Carida for basic training.

The only notable events afterword were his transfer from flight school to infantry, and small skirmishes with the Sith forces on multiple worlds. He keeps close contact with his family, and maybe, just maybe, could continue the Ontanas legacy of greatness.

In recent times, Book was listed as MIA during the battle of Alderaan. He was believed to have been killed, but has turned up within the Dreadguard Mark-II program under the Architects. His current whereabouts are vague, at best.

[member="Valeria Aetani"] Book is a nublet, and I can do any kind of RP. I wrote Calico, so if you enjoyed that writing style, it will be much the same. Shoot me a PM if you're still interested and we'll cook up some story ideas. :D
