Alena smoothed the dark black-blue locks of her hair and double-checked the rouge on her cheeks in the reflection of the inactive display screen built into the speeder's dash before stepping out. She wore a mid-length skirt of navy blue with a conservative cut at the collar and a silver pendent in the design of CSAF's 1st Battalion; an inverted triangle topped with a crown. Her heels clicked lightly on the stone paveway as she turned and reached into the back seat. The dark purple bottle inside was decorated with a red bow; a fitting gift of Sparkbee honey mead. After locking the vehicle behind her, Alena stepped lightly down the gentle path that curved through the grass of the property, soon coming to the darkwood door that served as the entry point to the underground home. Alena tapped the comm unit built into the doorjamb and waited for the home's automated security system to register her identity. After a brief moment, the door unlocked and slid open, and the Chiss woman was greeted by the security AI. "Welcome, Lord Commander Alena Reckar of the Civilian Security Assistances Force, to the Home of Supreme Commander Suravi Teigra."
Alena stepped through the doorway with an arched eyebrow. A little much, she thought amusedly of the AI's programmer, as the door slid shut behind her and relocked. Beyond the foyer, Alena was greeted by a plethora of sweet-scented flowers and rich-colored wood structures. Colorful walls and the gentle trickling of water in the distance gave the home a rather pleasant feel that starkly contrasted the militant lifestyle Alena was accustomed to. A common sensation for soldiers, she knew.
"Commander Teigra?" Alena called, semi-softly. The circular home boasted impressive acoustics, and her voice carried well without much force. She stepped forward again, looking about and enjoying the soft nature of the other woman's home. Alena waited patiently in the hall, the bottle of honey mead cradled in one arm. The nature of the visit was professional, yet personal at the same time. Both women had agreed that for the sake of their formal relationship as leaders of allied militaries they ought to grow accustomed to one another on a personal level as well. Alena understood the detached, hierarchical sensibilities of most organized militaries, but had always believed that soldiers could only fight for leaders they knew as people. As the Republic and CSAF had both pledged to fight for common ideals, it was only fitting in Alena's eyes that she develop a more intimate connection with the leaders with whom she would be serving. It seemed Commander Teigra shared a similar belief, as she had been the first to extend such an invitation.
