- Bulwark: The MC75's armored forward hull renders its concealed deflector shield generators redundant, though potent Mon Calamari emitter arrays are fitted to protect the aft. Refits dating back to before the years of darkness have provided the schematic to affix heavy reinforced battleship hulls with minimal losses to speed and maneuverability.
- Skirmisher: Although they were not originally designed for that purpose over the centuries Mon Cal star cruisers have proven effective at frontline combat operations. More lightly armed than a typical Imperial destroyer the MC75s rely on quick strike tactics to aim strategic high powered shots at their enemy's weak points.
- Outrigger Fin: An armored outrigger fin on the ventral hull holds the command bridge pod and receiver array. Both this exposed platform and the opposite dorsal communications mast and sensor cluster are visible targets ripe for enemy bombing runs.
- Repurposed: Alliance star cruisers are based on an old range of vessels not originally designed to be warships and constructed out of replacement material and spare parts. Internal systems often malfunction and they are susceptible to electronic warfare.
Thanks to the heroic actions of Coren Starchaser and other brave rebel fighters many Mon Calamari were able to flee their homeworld before Sith conquest and seek out a new life elsewhere on the Outer Rim. Now a growing Mon Calamari Exodus Fleet enjoys safe harbor in OPA and Republic space. Eager to repay their life debt but too few in number to wage an effective resistance of their own, Mon Cal and Quarren exiles offer the forces of freedom their shipwright expertise to build new star cruisers such as the Alliance MC75. Engineered by Mon Cala natives and constructed at OPA shipyards, these modified star cruisers are faithful but not precise imitations of true MCS quality productions.
While a growing number of industrial worlds have developed Alliance sympathies in recent years there are not enough trained PDF officers or large scale militia outfits in the Territories to crew entire fleets of star cruisers. It is not uncommon however to see one or two at any given time in orbit over worlds like Terminus or Sullust. Some prosperous systems invest in an OPA crew to supplement their existing defenses. These patron crews are often little more than mercenaries and more than one freelance star cruiser has gone pirate. Deserters are hunted down by the Alliance more ruthlessly than any Imperial.
The MC75 is known for its redundant deflector systems and a heavily armored forward hull making the star cruiser a reliable line ship which can take a considerable pounding despite its relatively smaller size. The command bridge pod is affixed to an armored outrigger fin on the ventral hull which gives its senior officers an unparalleled line of sight vantage for any given battlefield. Originally planned as city-ships the former civic atrium is hollowed out and has been converted into a docking bay and starship service area.
