• Description: Not every OPA soldier is just a farmboy with a gun. Pathfinders are the best commandos that the Partisan Resistance has to offer and trained survivalists. They still rely on guerrilla and evasion tactics but know how to hold their own in frontline engagements and lightning raids.

• Combat Function: Pathfinders are the OPA's special forces and only dispatched on the most critical missions. They are skilled at lightning raids, ambushes, infiltration tactics, and can survive in almost any environment which supports life. Judges have been known to requisition the use of Pathfinders to support their hunt for a Sith or Dark Jedi.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Just because the OPA doesn't have a grand military doesn't mean that no trained soldiers live there. They say that the Outer Rim is a retirement community for combat vets that have lost faith in fighting over contested borders. Everybody stay out and leave us alone is a doctrine that appeals to some. Others never lost their conviction but have planted down roots or see the Partisans as the galaxy's best hope for liberty and independence. The most dangerous are known as the Alliance's elite Pathfinders. Despite their basic gear each trooper has what it takes to put down a stormtrooper or legionnaire.

The Pathfinders emphasize survival and wilderness training. They are tracking experts who can traverse difficult terrain and survive in hazardous environments as long as they aren't completely hostile to sustaining life. OPA commandos rely on the same kind of guerilla tactics as standard troopers but use them to effect against veteran combat units and elite guards in addition to the rank and file. Sometimes small teams of Pathfinders are temporarily placed under a Judge's authority if their commanding officer deems it a sound tactical decision.
