Almost My Type of Place

They said variety was the spice of life, and they weren’t wrong. But that never meant variety felt very exciting.

And as Lirka made her way through Golbah city, the capital of the Confederacy that she had sworn some loose and half-empty allegiance to she could remember those words. She had never been on Geonosis before, truly despite being over a century old she hadn’t experienced all that much in terms of the many planets of the Galaxy. Always alternating between a usual list.

She didn’t like it very much.

The city and the planet both. Golbah felt...dull...to her. She was used to the hives of scum and villainy like Nar Shadda, Choah, Anzat, this place was so goody-two-shoes in comparison. Where were the lowly spice-dealers? The thugs that wanted to shank you and take your shiny bits for a few credits? It was so…clean. And where would be someone she could bash in for messing with her? Dull, just utterly dull. Her armor felt (almost) totally unnecessary and gave the would-be “Mandalorian Protector” an unnecessary intimidation factor to all the lowly runts scurrying around her.

She’d scoff if it wouldn’t draw so much attention, over the past while she’d been becoming more bitter, the Dark Side took root into her ever deeper with each passing decade, at current year she had began to despise weakness, the content little masses who toiled around in meaningless lives and broke like bugs at the slightest punch. Challenges, she craved them more and more.

And maybe some distant spark of hope laid within her as she progressed into the “Sprawl”, as they called it, it reminded her of the scum-holes of the Galaxy a little. But only a little, it still held that same air as the rest of the city. And it took only a wayward glance of the glowing eyes that her near faceless helm had to make a would-be mugger run away in raw fear. So pathetic. This place just felt pathetic to her. Hopefully there was some work she could do, or a small-time gladiatorial pit she could earn some credits in. Just something actually exciting.

Glowing lights caught her eyes eventually, a cantina. Her kind of place. And it took no time for the Sephi to gain a stride to her step as she quickly made her way in, drawing more than enough eyes. She was...strange. Her armor was totally custom and held the exotic craft that one would expect from a Sephi. Seemed too nice for a place like this, but as brutal as necessary.

Her eyes scanned around the place, and she could feel the tingling again. Silently cursing under her breath, was another force sensitive here it seemed..

There were not enough words to describe how much she loathed this planet. Before, she'd just hated it, hated the dry heat, hated the lack of lush forests and lands of night, just hated all of it. Now, after certain events, it was loathing that ran through her body as she sat by the bar, ordering another bottle that she would drown in all too easily. She wished she never had to come here at all. But some upshot had decided that this was to be the capital of the CIS, which meant that if she was using the services of the Ministry of Science, she needed to come here. And she had to come here at regular intervals, to collect her crates of living, breathing, up for training, baby Hutts.

Once again she had arrived too early, which meant she was going to have to entertain herself for a few hours. And when she had to entertain herself for a few hours, liquor was the way to go. It wasn't as though she was in any state to head to one of the training centers, or do anything else.

Memories flooded her mind as she swayed back and forth, ever so lightly, on her chair. Memories of happy times, of joyous times, that had then been broken, marred, ruined. Memories of pain and betrayal, memories of hurt and danger, and memories that weren't as much memories as they were a current situation, running, hiding, trying to survive it all day by day as the threats that none could touch lurked in the back of her mind at all times.

Scherezade ordered another bottle and didn't even bother with pouring into a glass. She drank straight and true, needing her brain to shut up.

But it never did.

She was completely oblivious to the other Force User in the vicinity, not that she would have acted otherwise if she had been. After all, most people here were part of the Confederacy, which meant that whoever other person was, they wouldn't like her anyway.

They were half the same there, the planet had proved far too much like Anzat for her liking, but worse. And Anzat wasn't a particularly fun planet to be on (not counting the natives constantly wanted to slurp out her brains). Geonosis was just a dull rock to her, and that didn't lend much to her mood which was notorious for being sour half the time and the other half her actually being somewhat approachable.

Lirka didn't drink to lessen pain, she had become a cold cold woman as the years progressed. When you have around 400 years for a lifespan you quickly learn not to let yourself get too attached to things, mainly of the fleshy variant. She drank because she just drank, everyone did in the Underworld, everyone did on Choah, her parents did, booze had just been around her for most of her life. Though, she did miss the finer stuff back on Thustra...the Underworld brand stuff was strong but tasted like about what she expected Bantha piss to.

Taking a seat at an empty table, she took off her helmet with a hiss. Once upon a time Lirka had hid her face in public, but now she wore it far more openly. No one would remember the Princess of the Thustra unless they went and looked for it...though with the concept of looking, she couldn't help but take a wayward glance at the force sensitive woman. Unlike her, force sensitives made her jittery, anxious even. She trusted them about as far as she could stab them, so...about a meter. Taking note that she stared too long she was quick to pull away and order a drink, cursing herself in the solitude of her mind.
