Alpha and Omega were designed with a specific purpose, to serve as a gift to Palm-Imer, one of Gerwald Lechner’s Obsidian Squires. Her journey away from the Soll’nav had been one of his doing, though it had taken a path he had not expected. Years of trying to avoid a darkness which threatened to overtake her had failed. Palm needed to learn balance, and Gerwald had agreed to help her find it.
While among the Soll’nav, Palm constructed The Wraith Blades when the time came to set aside her training weapons. Upon the geminaie’s decision to depart from the Soll’nav and join the Knights Obsidian, Gerwald set out to construct new weapons to replace her sabers. He felt the constant reminder of who she had once been would keep her from finding the one thing she needed more than ever. Balance.
Designed after her original creation, Gerwald kept the tonfa style hilt she had been accustomed to using. The crystals he sought were chosen to amplify her favored lightsaber form and amplify the strengths while compensating for the weakness. Because she moved quickly, Gerwald opted to use songsteel, making the weapons lighter and faster in her hands. The blade color was chosen to match the color of her eyes. They had always been a unique feature, that the wolf had not seen in another humanoid before. To that end, Gerwald searched for a Kyber Crystal that would make the weapons uniquely hers.
