Alpha (IG-88 Assassin Droid)
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Alpha was a member of the bounty hunter guild and had joined Kardek's team of bounty hunters. The group had begun doing high-priority targets for the Imperials, and the work had begun to wear on Kardek, as the targets were innocent people or those who were trying to make positive change in the galaxy. One day, they were tasked to kill a young politician. The team had surrounded the woman, and her daughter was on her leg crying. The woman asked them to please let her daughter not see her die, but one of the team responded by blasting the daughter, killing her. Alpha raised his blaster to shoot the woman, but Kardek had finally had enough. Kardek blasted Alpha in the head, and the team exchanged fire in the confusion. Kardek's head was wounded severely, and his friend who had survived the shootout took him and Alpha to an underground facility to save his life. The medical procedure resulted in a risky attempt at placing cybernetic implants into Kardek's brain that were then neurally connected to Alphas programming, allowing for some of Alphas processing power to be used to extend Kardek's brain function into his own programming. In essence, Alpha had become and extension of Kardek, and the two need each other to live. If their connection is ever broken for too long, then Kardek would die and Alpha would need to be reprogrammed.
