Material: Titanium Reinforced Alusteel Alloy plating covering the sensitive hardware of the machine combined with a motion sensing light projector which creates the screen and a short range signal emitter to control the droids within range.
Description: Orphen prefers the role of the battlefield tactician over the role of a duelist or a consular, thus developing this wrist band over some time in order to better co-ordinate the mechanical forces at his disposal with the use of combat patterns etc. Using this device he is able to up-link droids/drones and compatible machines and override them with a combat AI installed within the machine. This comes to pass in much the same way as the trade federations command signals (on a much smaller scale), giving Orphen the means to command the drones within his immediate area, give orders to them and unify the droids' thinking patterns ensuring that they act the way the user wants them to, and when idle, falling back on basic directives, namely to defend the wearer of the DCD.
A skilled slicer with a compatible data-pad or computer, combined with this tool, is even able to override other broadcast signals controlling other droids in range and reign them in under the user's control (Eg. B1-2 battle droids.). However the Alpha Series DCD has its drawbacks, it has a limited projection range of only 50m, and is prone to damage from electrical surges and EMP's... Also, though the weapon is armour-plated, the plating is thin, meaning it can only withstand minimal damage from direct attack.
The Alpha Series' AI, is a basic combat AI created from weaponizing the AI and functions of an astromech droid, stripping away its many extra functions such as language translation etc. The Alpha Series' base AI is able to diagnose areas and follow orders as well as fight, take evasive actions etc, though with no great levels of finesse and can sustain up to half a dozen units at once.
Finally, wirelessly up-linking the machine to a H.U.D. allows the 'commander' to see the plotted trajectories of the droids/drones under their control, allowing them to alter their destinations or patterns more precisely and enables the use of voice commands.
