Alor of Clan Gred, Mando'ad'jetii
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
Created in the aftermath of the Sith Empire strip mining Mandalore of its Beskar, Beskar Electroplated Alusteel, simply called Alu'skar by armorsmiths, uses manufacturing techniques generally saved for starships and speeders to conserve the precious supply of Mandalorian Iron. The technique required smiths to make armor plating from Alusteel, a fairly light and abundant metal, then placing it in a solution with an electrode made of Beskar. Using this, the Alusteel plating could slowly, and permanently be given a thin coat of Beskar, and would be given some of the metal's more durable properties to boot. The finished plate is lighter than Beskar, while still being able to handle a wide array of energy weapons.
While this new plating is durable, it's not without its issue. It was discovered that Beskar is difficult to electroplate to Alusteel, but smiths have now learned more about of how to form Alusteel for the initial armor piece, making the process at least somewhat easier. Another think that’s helped us Clan Gred settling, and getting allies that could help in creating the armor. Still, this now single issue means that the production of Alu'skar is limited, though now not as specialized as before. Along with this, it's notable the Alu'skar isn't as tough as Beskar, but also won't return to its shape as easily as Alusteel would. This means that plates made from Alu'skar can dent more easily, and can be more difficult to reform. This also means kinetic weapons can be an issue.

SPECIAL FEATURES
- Electroplated: The material is technically an Alusteel plated in Beskar using electroplating. This plating allow Beskar to be conserved, while give the plates many of its qualities.
- Lighter than Beskar.
- Effective at stopping blasters and lightsabers.
- While easier than it was before, Alu’skar is still tricky to produce.
- Dents more easily than Beskar, and is less elastic than Alusteel.
