A effectively interceptor, the AM-S02 Pegasus is capable of using it SLAM engines to catch up with incoming fighter or missiles and switch to an agile dogfighter to engage with its cannons and miniature concussion missiles.
The three man crew is well protected behind layered armour and advanced shields. The ship has full life support and hyperdrive capability and enough space for a weeks consumables for the whole crew. These luxuries were demanded by the navy that made the original purchase and are considered excessive by many forces as they add to the cost. Behind the cockpit is a docking location for an astromech droid that can perform a lot of the ships functions if necessary.
The ship is also designed to be more aerodynamic than a lot of contemporary ships, allowing it to maintain its high performance whilst in atmosphere to help achieve air superiority.
