STRENGTHS

Diplomatic Cruiser - Each Amidala-class is known to represent the Federal Assembly and is provided a certain modicum of respect and dignity when traveling throughout the Galactic Alliance, traveling into neighboring systems, or even entering the territory of another Interplanetary Government.

Modularity - The true strength of the vessel is in how easy it is to modify the internal layout of the vessel to fulfill the needs of the crew or Diplomat that is utilizing the vessel. The most common modifications are those to accommodate species and their varying physiological needs.

WEAKNESSES

Unarmed - The Amidala-class was designed to serve as a Diplomatic Transport and as such is not armed nor is it capable of being armed without extensive retrofitting of the vessel.

Hangar Capacity - To ensure ample room for diplomats, their quarters, and the quarters of visiting dignitaries, the craft was not designed to accommodate additional smaller craft and lacks any form of Hangar bay.

DESCRIPTION

The Amidala-class Diplomatic Cruiser represents the ideal of Peace and Prosperity and symbolizes the desire to attain these goals not through the force of arms; but through the words and dialogue that can be opened between individuals. Designed to serve the Federal Assembly, these Diplomatic Cruisers provide a means by which Senators and their Aides may travel through the Galactic Alliance on diplomatic missions, host visiting dignitaries, or offer safe passage to Ambassadors from systems not aligned to the Galactic Alliance or other Interplanetary Governments - such as the Rimward Trade League or even the Mandalorian Enclave. Thus, its intended purpose is that of Peace, not Conquest. Designed on those principles and understanding that one cannot claim peace while arriving heavily armed, the Amidala-class is unarmed and lacks the capability or means of deploying weaponry without extensive retrofitting of the vessel. Likewise, its focus on providing ample space for dialogue has also resulted in a lack of any hangar capacity and is incapable of supporting anything more than a singular small craft docked at an external port. However, the true strength of the vessel comes from its modularity and the ease with which the internal structure of the vessel can be modified to suit the needs of the individuals residing within or operating the vessel. The most common of these modifications comes in the form of providing quarters accommodated to a species' specific physiological needs. Even with a new conflict dawning on the horizon and shipyards producing new armadas of warships, there is still always the chance that peace can prevail before the loss of life. The Amidala-class represents the means by which the members of the Federal Assembly of the Galactic Alliance can attempt to secure that peace through open dialogue. By bringing everyone to the table and talking rather than throwing lives into the meatgrinder of war.
