AMONG IMPERIAL RUINS

vDVBrQ1.png
The shuttle landed in a cloud of dust. How strange was it to program a meeting among the ruins of an imperial city ? Julius had been surprised by the rendezvous point at first, but it made sense. In these ruins rested the remains of Thrawn's fleet, the graveyard of his own defeat. On that planet, the Empire had been unable to win a decisve encounter against the New republic, and the Chiss had ultimately been betrayed and murdered. His fleet had fled, never to pose a threat again to the Rebels. Eventually these remains would form the Imperial Remnant, the Fel Empire, the One Sith Empire, the Sith Empire, and finally, the New Imperial Order.

From what Julius knew, Bilbringi was under the authority of a proclaimed Grand Moff, an irredentist who refused to obey the rule of the Sovereign Imperator : secluded on a minor fortress world with a handful of troops, these kinds of warlords mimicked the imperial authority but never truly embodied them. The diplomat despised the concept of warlordism. It was a dangerous, individualistic type of attitude which led to the end and damnation of every Empire. The old Sith Empires had been victim of it, the First Galactic Empire had fallen due to that. Without the decade-long conflict between Blitzer Harrsk, Ysanne Isard, Zsinj, Ardus Kaine and so many more, who could tell how long the Empire would have lasted ? Maybe a thousand years as promised.

The Fel Empire had also been victim of it, and the One Sith Empire had fallen due to warlordism. Nowadays, the Sith Empire was falling to that, with the cult of the Sith Eternal and the well-named Warlords of the Sith emerging at an inconvenient time. For many politicians, and for Julius especially, the Sith Empire was already dead, no matter how long its corpse managed to quiver. The mimick of life was not life, and in the case of the Sith Empire, it was necromancy.
addkebt.png
Leaving the thoughts of warlordism away from the spirit of negotiations, the Anaxsi focused on Kenth Berik Kenth Berik . Little did he knew of the man except his public figure of CEO and the imperial records listing him as an ISB and navy officer for quite some time in the Core. The Adjudicators Mercenary Company was renowned for its efficency and patriotism when it came to defend imperial bastions. One could wonder why it had refused to join an imperial faction, instead working with some petty warlord. Of course the Adjudicators were associated with characters like that Chiss warlord, the mysterious Marlon Sularen and other people Julius was not comfortable with meeting. But they did not hold any kind of allegiance to one of the main imperial factions, which was a shame. The elder's work would have been so much simpler if he had talked with a representative of the Sith Empire which he could convince to defect, or a First Order soldier with which he could broker a deal. Instead, he was dealing with a mercenary warlord. How peculiar.

Julius walked for some time among the ruins, escorted by four TodHusars. He himself had decided to wear a lightweight version of the HK-01 chestplate, made in plastoid. It allowed for great maneuvrability and comfort while making the diplomatic apparel seem as ostentatious as always. The marvels of anaxsi technology never stopped to impress the old heir, and this limited model of the famed black jumpsuit was one of the many things the Dalness family could design and manufacture.

"Alright Berik... Where are you ? We've played enough games today, time to start to negotiate." Julius whispered, before stepping on the rendezvous point and triggering the beacon. It would signal to his diplomatic craft in orbit he had arrived safely, and warn the other party he was ready to begin the talks.

Kenth stood on the balcony of a half destroyed skyscraper. Like most of the city it appeared to be nothing more than a crumbling building. But appearances could be deceptive. An Adjudicator trooper wearing a Captain's pauldron appeared out of a doorway behind him. "Sir, the emissary is here." Kenth turned his head slightly. "Oh? Arrived a bit faster than expected." he said before turning around and walking through the doorway back into the skyscraper, the trooper following closely.

The inside of the building couldn't be more different than the exterior. A fortified and well equipped safe house, hidden amongst the ruins of a destroyed city and courtesy of Bilbringi's Grand Moff. Walking towards the complex's entrance through reinforced and newly constructed grey hallways Kenth spoke to the Trooper. "Has any recent intel reports shed any more light on the emissary?" The trooper replied. "Unfortunately no sir, we know as much as we started with, Anaxsi nobility holding a ranking position within the New Imperial Diplomatic Corps." Kenth mused over what the trooper said. The man wanted to meet him for a reason but his background didn't provide much to go off of. "Another Anaxsi, that at least is interesting."

The trooper turned and spoke up once more. "Uh sir, there are rumours within the corps, something big going on, do you happen to know anything?" Kenth's eyebrow raised as the trooper spoke and he stopped in his tracks. "Information is kept quiet for reasons. I know you're men are itching for a fight now but we must hold off. Our employer has everything under control as he needs it. I suggest you keep any further rumours to yourself, hm?" he said before continuing into a turbolift then down the skyscrapper. Kenth's work in the core was important and now things were escalating he felt compelled to ensure it's success.

As the turbolift jolted violently as it began to slow down, eventually stopping as they reached the ground floor. "Have your men set up around the rendezvous point Captain?" Kenth asked. "Yes sir, within the ruins as ordered." Kenth nodded. "Good, I think I'll feel safer out there than in this death trap of a turbolift." The trooper smirked under his helmet. "Engineers assured me that it was safe but the violent stops aren't convincing." Kenth shook his head. "Agreed." he said before stepping out. "Now lets meet this New Imperial."

As they exited the turbolift an Adjudicator trooper was waiting for them. He gave Kenth and the Captain a salute before pointing towards a clearing in the collapsing city.
"Over there sir, right dead centre in front of Pelleon's memorial." Kenth grabbed a pair of macrobinoculars and looked through them, seeing Julius and his security detail. "Well lets not keep our guests waiting shall we Captain?" he said before following a path through the rubble and out to the rendezvous point. As he approached he spoke "Julius of House Haskler. Apologies for all the secrecy but you must understand the nature of my organization yes? Now you mentioned you'd like to have a chat." he finished off, maintaining some distance between himself and Julius Haskler.

The plaza on which the Pellaeon's Memorial was situated was original to say the least. It might have been a grand avenue, which led to the Memorial. Julius could easily imagine the great statues, the red imperial banners, the Stormtroopers patrolling to protect the imperial citizens. The grandeur of Bilbringi had been the grandeur of many imperial jewels across the Core and along the Braxant Run. Now the few remnants of the imperial presence in the Core were as ruined as the roundabout he was sitting on, guarded by his paratroopers.

How deep into the politics of the Core warlords had Berik sunk ? It was a crucial question, able to tip the talks they would have together. If the diplomat had to give a guess, he would answer that, based on the reports the ISB had issued, Captain Kenth Berik was not a politican of sorts. He had maybe thrown himself into them in order to survive of gain influence, but he was not the man Julius imagined as creating alliances and manipulating other warlords in order to become the head of a tinpot state.

The Anaxsi imagined Kenth Berik as being as him : an idealist wishing to restore the Empire to its former glory, a state where it could bring peace and security to the citizens of the Empire. The reports concurred : from what he understood, the mercenary had devoted most of his time to save imperial bastions in the Core from the corrupting influence of the Galactic Alliance, something Julius was impressed of, and felt respect for. That would be one of his axis of speech for the upcoming palavers. Speaking of the Imperial Core, the warlordism, the bigger picture the New Imperial Order could give, and finally, the personnal mission about Anaxes.

How could a true Imperial resist to that ?
addkebt.png
The TodHusars signaled incoming living forms as their thermal vision detected multiple humanoid signatures. Shortly thereafter, they saw a group of imperial troopers exit a ruined building, and begin their walk through the rubble and the ruins. The anaxsi troopers detected various other presences in the surroundings, but none of them really posed a threat for the moment. It resembled a trap, but Julius knew it wasn't.

The five Anaxsi got up as the Adjudicators reached them, and Julius walked to the leader of the other party, formally saluting him before listening to what he had to say.

Julius of House Haskler. Apologies for all the secrecy but you must understand the nature of my organization yes? Now you mentioned you'd like to have a chat.

The diplomat nodded affirmatively to that harsh introduction sentence. He was not surprised to see his interlocutor was so direct, in fact he was even reassured a soldier like him did not conceal behind language duplicities : that was his own job and talent. Julius decided to forgo the formal introduction he used with high-ranking officials. It would not make the Captain comfortable, and it would divert his attention from the image Julius was trying to give : a simple man, devoted to the Empire and willing to sacrifice everything for it. It was true, from a certain point of view. But it was beyond the scope of the sole New Imperial Order. His loyalty could go to any legally instituted claimant of the Imperial Throne.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Captain Berik. I have requested this... meeting in order for us to discuss important matters. If this is not indiscreet, whom is the warlord you are currently serving ? I've heard of lot of names related to yours, and I would like to be sure about the person you are associated with."

This maneuver would allow Julius to glean informations about the current state of the Core, and maybe even provide informations about a warlord ruling over everyone else. It was important to know about the head of the hydra if he wanted to brefriend with it, to some extent.

"As you may have understood, I am here to learn more about the imperial remnants the Core houses. Once that is out of our way, I would have an offer to make, a job I'd like you to accomplish. But, tell me, Captain, what do you know of the imperial factions in the galaxy ?"

The mercenary Captain listened to Julius as he spoke. "So a fledging interest in the core? Well I suppose it is the jewel of our galaxy after all." Kenth said before walking up to a the crumbling monument and staring at it. "I of course am not able to release the details of my current employment as it was requested it's kept quiet. That and many of my operations are 'delicate' and require secrecy." Kenth then turned back to Julius "But I can tell you, those who think the Imperials in the core are nothing more than crumbling remnants and petty warlords, well you couldn't be farther than the truth." Something was occurring beneath the surface and Kenth knew this.

"As for the others in the galaxy." Kenth said before musing over the question. "Well they vary greatly. The First Order have been reduced to pacifists, the Eternal Empire are no better than the Sith and your own NIO continues driving deeper into the heart of that decaying Empire." Kenth himself had always been wary of the Order and Eternals. One had proven itself spineless and the other were lead by bullish Sith lords, leadership which would drive them into the ground for the Sith covet their power more than Imperial ideals. The Order was interesting though and Kenth refrained from delving deeper for now.

Julius had also mentioned a job on top of the information which was slightly peculiar to Kenth. Perhaps he wanted more leverage in these informal talks. Nonetheless the Adjudicators had a standard to uphold. "My company has specialized in working with Imperials as we know the way they like things done, we Imperials are peculiar in that way and it's almost amusing." he said with a small chuckle. "If you need job done then you've come to the right man. As long of course, as it doesn't breach any other contracts my company is currently is operating under."

It was interesting to see Berik speak. His manner of speech betrayed a Caridan education, and a Core culture. While not surprised by this, Julius was more comfortable talking with such people from the Core worlds than some peasant of a backwater world. The Core-centrist attitude of the Anaxsi people was common, and was especially vivid in the high-ranking officials. Julius was especially Core-centrist, but supressed his contempt of the alien and outer rims as best as he could.

That let him wondering about the probability of an imperial rule ever reappearing in the Core, apart for some worlds. Truly, Anaxes would gladly join the Empire again, but would worlds like Coruscant or Corellia shift allegiance and reject the corrupt rule of the Galactic Alliance ? Though the system was inherently good, the corruption it birthed meant the Alliance state and other pro-Republic governments would not fit militarised worlds fighting for their freedom. Such was the case of Carida, Anaxes, and many more.

The diplomat knew he could negotiate with the Alliance to shift Carida's allegiance, but Anaxes was not a world to be traded. The Hasklers would come to it en masse, or organise an election, but never would they let the New Imperial Order bargain with the Alliance in order to get Anaxes. When joining the Empire, the noble house had had to let go of the idea that they would reclaim their world anytime soon. No one could give them that certainty, but anyone who would free Anaxes from the corrupt ule of the Alliance would have his eternal ratitude.

I of course am not able to release the details of my current employment as it was requested it's kept quiet. That and many of my operations are 'delicate' and require secrecy. But I can tell you, those who think the Imperials in the core are nothing more than crumbling remnants and petty warlords, well you couldn't be farther than the truth.

Julius was both bothered of the secrecy surrounding the Imperial warlords of the Core, and relieved to hear of their power. While secret, the Imperial Diplomatic Corps Issues 20 to 24 were extremely specific about the fate of the Core. Based on Imperial and Allied Intelligence reports, they identified the leaders of the various, warring factions, and ordered their abduction, termination or integration into the galactic picture. The names were held secret, apart from the high-ranking members of the Imperial Diplomatic Corps, and the Sovereign Imperator. Julius knew a handful of them, because he had written the Issues, but most of the reports had been edited to include more important figures of the whole galaxy.

If he had to guess, Berik was working under the authority of the Imperial warlords of the Core gathered into the Shadow Association. That particular group was hunted by the Alliance and they were planning on putting high bounties on the head of the different leaders. But as a mercenary, Senior Captain Kenth Berik was free of movement : he was no blind soldier or officer. Julius wanted to play on that part, with the ultimate objective of reestablishing an Imperial presence on Anaxes without damaging the diplomatic relationship of the Alliance and the Order.

As for the others in the galaxy. Well they vary greatly. The First Order have been reduced to pacifists, the Eternal Empire are no better than the Sith and your own NIO continues driving deeper into the heart of that decaying Empire.

"I agree with most of it. It is true to some extent that the First Order has reduced its military operations, but I konw for certain that they will soon come to blows with the Eternal Empire. Which is a shame because the Eternal Empire is not entirely corrupt. Its head is indeed a Dark Side cultist's one, but for most of it, it sticks to the ideals of the Empire. The Sith deserve one thing, and it is death. Operation Kyber Dark has been ordered to terminate any Sith found within the galaxy, but we are planning to extend it to any Dark Side user. This kind cannot be allowed to live, and the New Imperial Order has given itself the sacred goal of burning it down."

The old diplomat hoped he had answered Berik right. All of this intel was fresh, and he had read it this morning as part of the daily report the Ubiqtorate gave to the Imperial Diplomatic Corps. Indeed the First Order would attack the Eternal Empire one day or another, and the recent capture of their Eternal Empress Ingrid L'lerim-Vandiir would deprive her faction from its fighting spirit. In the meantime, the Sith Empire would disappear under the renewed attacks of the New Imperial Order and the Galactic Alliance. Once all of this was done, the imperial gaze would turn to major threats : the Bryn'adûl, the CIS, the resurgent Yuuzhan Vong... And eventually the Empire would come to the Core.

My company has specialized in working with Imperials as we know the way they like things done, we Imperials are peculiar in that way and it's almost amusing. If you need job done then you've come to the right man. As long of course, as it doesn't breach any other contracts my company is currently is operating under.

"I know the reputation of your Mercenary Company was not overstated. The high-ranking officials of the New Imperial Order consider your forces as a good way to keep the Core under a watchful eye. If I may be frank, the rulers of the Empire distrust and contempt the warlords. But a Mercenary Company is different because it serves only one master, money, and, in your case, it serves the Imperial Ideal. As such, I am to assign you to a special mission of mine. My position in the New Imperial Order does not interfere with it, because I am asking this to you as the Heir to House Haskler, not as an Imperial diplomat."

Julius paused for a moment, preparing the rest of his speech? He wanted to draw attention of the Captain, and intrigue him. That personal favor he was asking was against all peace treaty the New Imperial Order had signed, especially the Galactic Alliance.

"There is on Anaxes a corrupted government which had dethroned the imperial rule many years ago. This government is supported by the Galactic Alliance, and festers upon the poor and the needy, denying them the opportunity to serve a cause greater than them. I want you to attack Anaxes, break down this rule, and announce a future return of the imperial rule. Once you have destroyed that corrupt government, bring me their heads. They will be exposed in the strongholds of the Hasklers in New Imperial space. That is all for the mission I'd like you to accomplish. I have also a long-term mission which is of utmost importance. Do you know the details of Kyber Dark Operation ?"

Kenth listened to Julius as he spoke and couldn't help but let out a small grin. The ambassador spoke with zeal and righteousness openly, something the secrecy of his work prevented him from doing so often. He listened further to his speech and his interest in Anaxes, something that piqued Kenth's interests. Assets to his employer were active in that region and perhaps this job may be easier than he initially thought, if he timed it right.

"You are a ranking diplomat and I'm sure you have deeper knowledge than I in the interests of the other nations. Like other lower officers I was simply stating what we saw in the First Order and Eternals." he said before turning to his captain and motioned for his datapad. The trooper pulled Kenth's datapad from his belt and promptly handed it to him. "As for your special mission, it would be a tough task for most mercenary companies." he said while pulling up the profiles of the Anaxsi he was currently working with. "But we are not most." he said before coming up to a list of officers within the Alliance, confirming his suspicions. "My other employer has Shah-tezh pieces in play wiithin the Anaxsi. With the right timing I perhaps may be able to pull off such a task."

The maneuver would be a bold one, to openly attack an Alliance stronghold deep within its territory "As noble as your cause is with the capital next door this attack would have to be smash and grab at most. Not to mention the 1st Anaxsi-Imperial Battlefleet" he said with a slight scowl before deactivating the datapd. "The attack would be a statement, but a powerful statement." He said before turning his attention back to the diplomats last statement. "Kyber Dark. I'm familiar with it yes. I listened to the message your Imperator sent to the galaxy the day your order purged itself of the Sith. An admirable move which I'm sure has bettered the NIO."

This was genuinely looking interesting. An Anaxsi-Imperial fleet ? Julius had been away from the Core too long, it seemed. He would have of course to meet with the Admiral leading that fleet, eventually. Maybe it was time to start moving, to begin the reconquest operation. This pro-imperial fleet could really be the opening of a grand return for the Hasklers and their fellow Anaxsi. If it rallied under the banner of House Haskler, then the conquest would be especially easy.

But freeing Anaxes was not the priority. Weakening its government could be an operation undertaken while the IDC Issue campaign was under way. That was the utmost priority for Julius and the whole Imperial Diplomatic Corps. When it had been launched, the old diplomat had identified the characters he needed to apporoach and abduct or recruit. The head of the Corps and the Imperator had insisted on the importance of the mission : no failure was to be accepted on three particular names.

Julius continued to devise his plan for the Core. While the warlords had to be taken care of, their troops would remain loyal to them and not much to the Empire at large. That was the first problem he would face. The second one was the Galactic Alliance and its corrupted liberal policies. It was a large state and had a powerful army. Moreover, it was allied to the New Imperial Order, and was not on the priority targets of the Empire. First, there were the Sith Empire and its splinter factions. Then, the Bryn'adûl. FInally, the allies of the Sith Empire in the war against the New Imperial Order : the CIS and the Silver Jedis. All of this was going to keep the Empire away from the Core for a long time.
addkebt.png
As noble as your cause is with the capital next door this attack would have to be smash and grab at most. Not to mention the 1st Anaxsi-Imperial Battlefleet. The attack would be a statement, but a powerful statement.

Julius perfectly knew Anaxes would be well-defended. His plans for Anaxes had multiple layers, and the first of all was to create danger in the minds of the pro-alliance citizens. The return of Imperial pirates would spread terror within the heart of the Alliance officials. Then , they would accelerate their plans to eliminate the imperial warlords, and this increased speed would allow the New Imperial Order to intervene and save the warlords' forces unbeknownst to the Alliance. Then Anaxes would fall slowly into the Imperial hands thanks to the Hasklers's manipulations.

"I trust you, Captain. I know you will able to terminate this corrupt leader while preserving the imperial interests in the Core. That Anaxsi-Imperial battle fleet is loyal to the government of the Alliance, but some of its members may join us. Sadly, I don't know much about Anaxes nowadays. If you can gather intel about the imperial sympathy on the planet, it would be greatly appreciated."

Now that this was done, there was another point the Heir wanted to talk about before he left. It was necessary to draw Berik away from the Core if the Alliance struck the warlords. Julius knew it would happen anytime soon. As such, he had to begin the withdrawal of the imperial interests as quickly as possible. However, it had to be progressive and not too obvious. The Imperial Diplomatic Corps had planned to sacrifice some of the minor factions in order to hide the absorption of the others. Berik was not to be sacrificed but his patrons could very well be on the list. His loyalties could get on the way of his retreat, and as such the diplomat would have to conceal the fact that the New Imperial Order would abandon the Core and some of its warlords.

Kyber Dark. I'm familiar with it yes. I listened to the message your Imperator sent to the galaxy the day your order purged itself of the Sith. An admirable move which I'm sure has bettered the NIO.

"You are absolutely right, Captain. It has served to cull the Dark Side users from the ranks of the true Empire, and we seek to extend this operation to any Dark Jedi we encounter. And I know your Company is ready for that task. Once the mission on Anaxes is done, please meet me on Ylix. From there, we will organise the extension of Kyber Dark Operation to any Dark Side user, and I'll employ your troops to be the tip of the spear that will annihilate the Sith and their minions once and for all."

Kenth's eyebrows perked up at Julius' second request. Actively participating in hunting dark siders. While Kenth's unit was a military unit it was also a company and thus many nuances would have to be figured out. It had Kenth slightly on edge. "The second request seems rather long term and while my company has endeavored on long operations, I of course will need to formulate a proper contract of sorts." he said thinking to himself. "Although I would love to use my fleet to punish the Sith my shareholders and regular clients need some assurance I'm not abandoning them or the core." he said with a smirk. Despite this the opportunity to expand himself from the core was an interesting one and an ally within the order would certainly come in handy.

"As for the Anaxsi I shall have my men begin drawing up a contract as well as assessing the situation, see if my forces could feasibly get to high ranking government officials. Once we get the greenlight though, well, I shall show the Anaxsi why some call me the Butcher of Ord Mantell." he said before turning to the trooper and giving a nod to which he saluted before walking off back the way the pair came from. "Perhaps we should discuss that second task once I bring you the heads of your enemies. Let this first job be an assurance we can get things done, hm?" he continued. Kenth began formulating plans his head and he couldn't lie to himself, openly challenging the Alliance did excite him. They were a cancer which needed to be rooted out and Kenth eagerly wanted the Adjudicators at the forefront of that. All he was waiting for was an excuse to attack.

"I shall contact you once my fleet is ready to commence the operation as well as fees for our service and further specifics. The contract of course will only be seen by you and I so you won't have to worry about the Alliance tracing the attack back to you." Kenth said after taking a few seconds to think. He proceeded to look up to a ruined building and whistled before looking back up to Julius and continuing. "In the meantime if you believe there are any other requests regarding the Anaxsi send a communication using this." he said motioning his hand to two security troopers exiting the ruined building with a briefcase. "An encrypted communicator. Has a direct line to my office aboard my flagship." One of the troopers approached one of Julius' bodyguards before placing the briefcase before them. "Any further questions Lord Haskler?"

The second request seems rather long term and while my company has endeavored on long operations, I of course will need to formulate a proper contract of sorts. Although I would love to use my fleet to punish the Sith my shareholders and regular clients need some assurance I'm not abandoning them or the core.

Julius knew his interlocutor would hesitate on his second proposal. Maybe he had been a bit too... direct? He had made claer his intention to draw him away from the Core, and to take him away from the influence of the warlords. He had now two options : be frank and tell him the truth, risking to unveil too much of his plans at the wrong moment, but gaining his trust. He could also lie to him and risk to engage in an unstable relationship that could lead to warlordism and backstabbing, among other cases. The risks were unknown, and, as when thiw choice presented to him, Julius decided the truth could only beneficial for long-term situations.

"I will be honest with you, Captain Berik. The Galactic Alliance has decided to get rid Sularen and his fellow warlords that are posing so much of a threat to the stability to the Core. Their next move will unfold soon, and when it does, Bilbringi will fall, and every Imperial with it. The New Imperial Order has decided to step aside of the matter : the warlords aren't exactly people the Imperator wish to defend, plus the Galactic Alliance isn't an ally we can afford to lose in our war against the Sith. Although I despise what they embody and what they did to my planet, I must recognise, they are reliable and efficient at war.

So, when the Alliance will come, no one will be spared. As an imperial power, we could try and exchange some prisoners, but those arrested here will disappear of the galactic scene forever. This is a fate I'd like you to avoid. I know your clients are expecting loyalty and reliance, and I can only beg you to remain true to your word and ideals, if not to your contract. But I want you to know the Core warlords are lost, sooner or later. Remain there as long as you wish, but please don't waste your intellect and strength in an Alliance dungeon. It can be spent much more usefully, and serve the Imperial cause. Keep that in mind, when the Alliance comes to Bilbringi. We will be ready to meet you on Ylix, Carlac or whatever world you wish to head to. And rest assured I will have plenty of contracts for you to accomplish."

It had been said. Julius could not be more transparent. He had told the entire truth, and he hoped the mercenary hadn't any hard feelings about it. What could be told more ? He had recruited the Adjudicators for a mission that would accelerate the processus of disappearance of the warlords, and offered them stability among the New Imperial Order, as regular troops or well-paid allies. If Kenth Berik decided now to throw away the opportunity, it was his absolute right, and Julius would be perfectly ok with it. If he decided to throw away his old loyalties and follow him here and now, the diplomat would have work for him. If he decided he was unsure about what to do, which was what Julius was expecting, then the Anaxsi would depart, collect the report of the Anaxes mission, and obeserve with attention as the Alliance moved its pawns.

"Very well, Captain. I don't have questions, and I think it is time for me to depart. It was a genuine pleasure to speak to an imperial like you. Concerning what I've told you... Take the time you need to think about it. Whatever you decided know is not definitive and I will always be ready to welcome you on an Imperial world. Just think about it calmly. Goodbye, Captain Kenth Berik of the Adjudicators Company."

Kenth was caught off guard when Julius mentioned Sularen's name although he tried his best not to show it. Then again, Kenth should have assumed the New Imperials new everything about the core. If what Kenth was being told was true then things were unfolding fast and soon he would be at a crossroads. Kenth should have guessed that the Alliance would have eventually come after a man who publicly declared himself 'Imperator' but he had bought his loyalty. Then again this could be a ruse to try and push Kenth out of the core but the ambassador didn't have much to gain from that.

"What you have said is troubling but for now I am bound. I will consider moving my assets out of the core though and should the Alliance's plan come to fruition." he said. Kenth's arms were now crossed as he spoke. "Should things take a turn for the worse then... well I'll be sure to stay in touch." As the ambassador said his farewell Kenth gave a salute before saying "Until next time Lord Haskler" before turning around and walking back into the ruins.

As he walked away an officer walked towards him. Kenth turned to the man and spoke. "We have work today, send a detachment to Anaxes to begin monitoring the situation and give me a list of all our assets in the core." the man nodded before walking back into the HQ. Kenth then turned to another officer nearby. "Lieutenant, set the fleet to defcon 3. I expect we'll be very busy very soon."
