Private Among the lizardy things

Kyra needed a break.

A pause.

An escape from all things force related.

She didn't want to think about it, summarize it, or otherwise linger on the factors that drove her away. All that mattered was the girl had now escaped into the depths of Myrkr --a jungle esk planet of all sorts of creatures-- and no one could come and stop her.

She had been here once before, on a mission with the Silver Jedi. They were the reason this planet now sat in the protective arms of the SJO. Not that she thought that would do much for them anymore. Not after Kintan.

But she wasn't here to think on that-- nosirree.

She huffed and swiped a bead of sweat off her forehead, the girl trekking her way through the depths of the forest around the capitol city. She had learned first hand about this planet's lizard populace. Their antiforce ability worked hard against jedi efforts to track and catch the scum that still occupied these lands. Kyra had quickly come to realize that if it could hide the bad guys from jedi senses, it would do just as good at hiding her too. JJ couldn't track a force bond if there was no force to be found.

She just needed to breath.

She walked with no direction, the padawan carrying nothing but a pack and a light set of shorts and shirt on her back. Her saber sat on her hip, even tho she wanted to throw it out of sight. Her paranoia over needing it far outweighed her desire to forget it existed.

She walked without purpose, her only goal to leave the bustling city far behind and escape into the thick quiet of a ysalamiri bubble. There, she could finally rest in peace.

Theodore had been travelling around the galaxy quite a bit now. He had yet to see a forest or jungle world and given it's proximity to Eshan it made Myrkr an easy pick to go have a look at. During the trip he used some of the credits he had gotten from working around Eshan on various odd jobs just trying to make enough to keep himself alive and able to keep moving on. Arriving on Myrkr he first saw the city. It was large and wonderful however he had seen many cities he wanted to explore the forests.

After a short stop at an info centre he found out that Myrkr is home to a number of dangerous creatures such as the Vornskr and Ysalamir. The lizards turned off the force to anyone within their bubble which Theo felt fine with since he didn't know how to use it anyways and even then who would rely on such a thing that much. The Vornskr could be dangerous if he wasn't near a lizard at night time or if they stumbled onto him and given the time he would need to make sure he was out before night.

Travelling through the gates out of town he began travelling the forest with his light clothing and a back pack full of supplies in case he got lost in the forests which while he had no intention of doing he also knew himself and how lost he could be especially after bumping into a ex sith on Bespin and then joining a droid part black market deal by accident on Eshan. He found a spot in the forest to relax and began doing so, it wasn't long before that peace was disturbed by a pink woman. The light between the trees allowed him to see the shade of pink which was very light and if she had been in the shade he would have thought she wasn't pink.

He called out "Hey I didn't think there was anyone else out here. Sorry if I scared you just saw you and was you know wondering what you are here for." He would hold his hands up and open while still sitting to show that he had no weapons just in case she questioned him. "I have no weapons so please don't kill me." He looked up waiting to see what would happen next.

The world was quiet. Even this short of a distance from the city, the force had left the air around her and left her senses blissfully numb. Her shoulders dropped in relief, the girl walking with easier steps through the foliage, a smile on her lips.

That was, until the voice called out.

Kyra startled, a sharp scream hitting the air. She wasn't use to being snuck up on, but of course ... no force warning. She gasped and sputtered, turning on her heel. "Geeze! Wow. You're quiet!" After a few panicked breaths, she calmed back down. She shot the boy a tentative smile, it clear by his body language that he meant to harm.

"Oh I won't kill you, don't be melodramatic," she laughed. She turned his way, trudging closer. "I'm Kyra," she chirped, her tone light. "I'm not doing anything, just walking. You?"

She tried unconsciously to get a read on him, only to find her dead senses remained... dead.

Ugh, how mundane.

Theodore went into a slight bit of shock as she scream. Which took him back to where he hadn't wanted to go. Traitors, Betrayers. Killing Families left right and centre. I have to get away. He snapped back to where he was thankfully he couldn't feel the pull of the force. He sighed carefully still looking at the lady before him, "Yeah I guess I am sorry, that tends to happen with echani even in the forest." He said smiling slightly back at her smile.

He smiled thankfully as she continued that she would kill him. "Thank you for saying that you won't kill me. That's very kind of you." He nodded "Nice to meet you Kyra, my name is Theodore, or Theo for short. I am also just walking well sitting at the moment, resting for a moment before I continue further into the forest. Thinking of staying the night even take some time away from some things."

He got up gathering his kit and looked at her once more. "Would you mind some company on your walk? I think for my kind of taking time away I would prefer to have someone present just in case." He said grimly, grimacing as he said so trying his best not to allow his thoughts to go back to what was occurring.

His face pinched, as if he was in pain. The pain did not echo through the force back to her, a fact which both delighted and startled her. The world was so quiet out here. Even he felt so far away. She could reach out and hug him he she wanted. Her fingers twitched, responding to the thought.

She didn’t want to.

“Um, yeah. Sure,” she replied softly. Her unsureness was easily masked as a bought of awkwardness, a fact which he wouldn’t recognize as out of character for her. She had come here seeking an escape. But she guessed as long as they stayed near a lizard, there was no reason they both couldn’t get that out of the forest.

He clearly needed company.

“I’m Kyra. OhwaitIalreadysaidthat. ...where you from, Theo?” She asked, starting her trek in deeper.

Theodore carefully watched her, he couldn't be sure of her much like the ex-sith on bespin she could have outside motives for simply not striking him down then and there for surprising her. She carried a lightsabre, he wasn't sure of the colour and thankfully in these forests she wouldn't be able to sense his force sensitivity. He couldn't exactly tell what her emotions are but he could see some kind of turmoil or at least what he would describe as much on her face. Hutt smile why couldn't he just fight people and find out what was going on like he could at home.

Because, he told himself you aren't at home anymore and don't forget it lest you forget why you've made the trip. Right of course. He looked at her some more before simply moving out of the clearing deciding he had enough time looking at his companion and he doubted she wanted much from him. Who could after what he had been through, the hidden scars. He nodded as he continued "Yes you already told me your name, I am from out in the unknown regions. Right out past chiss space, small little echani colony with no real name."

He continued forwards even more as he continued thinking. "What about yourself where are you from? That pink person planet I have heard so much about, Zeltros was it or from somewhere else?"

"Yeah," she responded, her voice growing smaller. "Zeltros." Home was a missed place, but the more time she spent away from it the less it felt like her own. It wasn't in the nature of her people to feel pain or suffering, at least not openly and not without inflicting their pain onto those around them. Her people were natural empaths, and there was only one state of being that was encouraged publicly.

Kyra was having a hard time finding her happy place.

She felt further from home than ever before.

"Echani," she whispered, familiar with it. "I've been there before. A good friend of mine is from there, too. You must be a good fighter." She glanced over at him, giving him a tight smile. It was a compliment if there ever was one. Kyra only wished she was as good as some of the people she had met from there.

"You're out pretty far from there. Are you lost?"

Theodore continued onwards and forwards into the jungle as he assumed the pink woman, Kyra followed behind him. He didn't really take notice as her voice got quiet talking about her home, he was instead focused on the forest when he eventually saw one of the lizards. Ysalimiri or something he took a closer look at it. Really quiet an interesting creature, such a small lizard was able to cut so many from the force which so many jedi and sith relied on. He would definately take some of these back with him if he didn't become powerful enough in the force to deal with them that way.

He was still looking at it when kyra mentioned the echani using it as the name of the home planet likely by accident. "The planet is called Eshan, the people are called Echani. I am a decent fighter I guess." He said shrugging keeping his focus on the lizard seeing what it was doing as it stalked a bug along it's branch. "If you had a good friend from their I would expect you to remember the planets name at least." He continued focusing as the lizard caught its prey and ate it.

He sighed turning around as she asked another question Are you lost. Suddenly he was back there with his friend who he didn't know yet. Are you lost there? He turned to them No of course not, I just don't know what I am looking for yet. They laughed and responded Tell me when you find it then. He snapped back looking back at the woman before him "No of course not, I just don't know what I am looking for yet. What about you?" He would respond looking at her waiting for a response.

"Uuuuuh," Kyra looked around them, then behind them as they walked. Signs of life had been swallowed up by the foliage, no glimpse of the city they had both fled from peaking out from between the branches.

"Nope." She popped the p, pointing the way they came. "People are that way." She glanced over at him, a subtle grin touching her lips at her sass. She dropped her hand and started to walk again. She took a careful path around the lizard, eyeing it curiously as she did.

"...Huh. They are so small." She reached out, trying to pull a branch towards her with the force. She could feel nothing. Nada. Not a bit of life responded to her limb.

"...Creepy," she commented, glancing at Theo. She was clearly unnerved, was he?

"Oh. I'm jedi by the way." The afterthought came belated, explaining away her weird gestures and panicked expression. "...Sorta. Kinda."

Theo sighed continuing through the forest looking for more of these lizard creatures. Whatever they were was turning off the one thing he had no idea how to control and he was grateful. He could remember his promise to become stronger and better, to return and help. But he couldn't possibly do that unless he learnt and right now he had yet to truly find a proper person to teach him. No one had quite fit the bill in spite of offers of such.

He rolled his eyes as he thought How can anyone be this oblivious, truly the universe has sent me to the worst spot possible Theo would reply "yes there are people back that way however I was not speaking of those people but the echani who live on eshan which this is not. Perhaps you should visit one day to learn more about the people and culture. What do you mean by creepy?"

Now he was getting confused by what she was saying even more "I actually rather enjoy not having something in me that I can't control. Perhaps one day I will feel different but for now I find this rewarding not creepy." He would stop as she mentioned she was a jedi "That is unfortunate, a jedi tried taking me away once and when I wouldn't go they enslaved my planet for their new masters, some sort of slavers and sith. I don't care what your opinion on the matter is. To me it is a simple fact that everyone who claims to be of competing orders tends to somehow fall to one another more than anyone should care to." Then he started moving again a bit faster this time trying to keep distance in case she had fallen or perhaps out of some twisted retribution for what he said.
