An Encounter On Dantooine

[member="Keturah X"]

It had been almost a month since Korlen had escaped from the hell he once dwelled in. Adjusting to his old life was hard to do. Especially when you had no home to go to. It seemed like it was all independence for now on.

Korlen never had a track to drive on. He was always in the grass sliding all over, driving on bumpy surfaces, and getting stuck in mud. As unfortunate as he was, something kept filling up his gas tank. That was until that something disappeared.

Korlen didn't know where to go, or where he was even going. Plus, this whole flying thing was new to him. His patience ran dry so he let the droid take over and go to the nearest planet. That planet turned out to be Dantooine.

If he didn't know how to fly, landing was an issue. Of course, the droid could do it but the ship came in the atmosphere too fast and the droid was too slow to react. "Move." Upon that command, he kicked the droid away and took control.

The ship was nose diving toward the ground toward water. Korlen quickly got the ship level with the water though it took a few seconds. The water was really close. Probably a few feet away. Land came into view soon after getting level with the water. Suddenly, the ship started skidding on the water so Korlen turned off the engines. The ship slowed down but not very fast.

Land reached the ship too quickly for it to stop in the water. The ship slid up the lands edge as if it hit a ramp and landed in a grassland area on land. Sparks flew everywhere inside the ship. Probably a bit on the outside too.

Korlen decided to check out the outside. Leaving down the ramp, he looked at the damage. It didn't look that bad. The shield most likely helped. Korlen leaped on the ship analyzing everything around him. Dantooine seemed quiet. His type of place.

Was that.... Did that seriously just happen?! Keturah stared dumbfounded at the ship that literally just came down from the sky, skidded across the lake she was sitting by, and crashed into the shore. RIGHT. ACROSS. FROM HER.
She blinked several times. Nope. She wasn't hallucinating. The petite girl slowly stood up, brushing off her poofy black skirt. The yellow wildflowers were still in her shiny black hair, making her amber-gold eyes that much brighter as she watched someone get out of the ship. The boy was a very good jumper. Were those... WINGS?!

Korlen walked over and sat down on a bulkier part of the ship. He didn't know what adventures would come from this planet but he was relaxing for now. Sometimes, he still felt chains on him. It was painful as he slept at night as well. Even though he wasn't friends with any of the people who lived at it the village, he was still sympathetic. Relaxation was close to impossible for Korlen though.

Sighing, Korlen stood up. He spread his wings out to their full length and put his hands in his trench coat's pockets. The area he was in was a grassland. Though, it looked like a small, badly plowed field where he crashed. He analyzed the area once more but noticed something different this time. A small girl appeared in the distance by the shore. She had magnificent amber colored eyes, and her hair shined in the sun. Confronting her didn't seem wise, or maybe it was just instinct but he did it anyway. Korlen flew over to her, and kept at least five feet in between them.

"Forgive me for my speedy entrance." He was trying his best to act normal. Korlen analyzed once more up close. She was very beautiful, and her eyes...unique and very admirable.

He was flying... Over to HER! Keturah's thoughts were racing a mile a minute as this angel-thing was making it's way towards her. Her mouth was open and gawking as he spoke to her. Was this really happening? Was this some kind of weird dream? Maybe she was just sleeping right now? But it felt too real. After a few more minutes of wide-eyed staring, Keturah finally managed to come to her senses. She cleared her throat a little.
"U-um... H-hi.....A-are you okay? I mean.... It looks kind of like you crashed....."

[member="Keturah X"] (decided to give him black wings)

Korlen had his usual straight face, not showing a smile or a frown. What he wore was simple. A black trench coat, black shirt, black leather boots, and black pants. Very dark. He might've appeared completely dark if it weren't for his white/silvery hair.

Keeping his hands in the pockets, Korlen turned around to face the ship. His wings would be straight facing the way of his sides.

"I'm perfectly fine... now anyway." he stared at the ship for a little while.

Keturah looked at the ship, too. It was smoking a little. Her eyes wandered back to the boy's wings. Black as night... Where did he come from? What was he? She couldn't keep her curiosity at bay.
"If you don't mind me asking... Um, who are you?"

Korlen turned around and gave his attention back to the girl. Her question wasn't something he was uncomfortable answering, but he had been isolated from society for so long that he had trouble remembering it. He tilted his head a little and looked off into the water trying to remember. Straightening his head back up, he had a suitable answer.

"Call me Athan." She wasn't the only curious one. Korlen was interested in her too. "And you? What's your name?"

Athan. A unique name. Keturah smiled at him.
"My name's Keturah! It's nice to meet you, Athan."
She extended a hand for him to shake. He was a little far away for her arm, though.

Her smile was mesmerizing, it was something he would cherish. Maybe it was those eyes, eyes that had the capability for anything.

Korlen slightly smiled in response to her smile.

"Likewise."

Korlen was a little startled by her movement with her hand. The slavers used to beat, slap, and injure him. He went back to a straight face and sat down sighing on the grass. Maybe ignoring her handshake was rude but could anyone blame him?

Keturah looked down at her hand and then back at Athan. Maybe he wasn't the touching type? She lowered it to her side and sat back down. She took one of the yellow flowers from her hair, looking down at it.
"So.... Were you coming here on purpose, or did you just crash?"

Korlen liked the feeling of grass, it was way different than hard, cold floors. He wondered how long he'd get to sit there like that though.

Though he didn't communicate as much as most, he seemed to be doing decent enough. "Long story short, I suck at flying ships." he paused to glance at the water. Korlen wondered what a swim would be like. Now seemed like the perfect time to find out... if he didn't drown.

"Oh. I probably am, too. I've never piloted anything before."
Though he was talking to her, Keturah felt like Athan was probably not the talkative sort, either. That was okay with her. She'd just have to not talk too much.

After debating on the swimming idea, he had plenty of years to try that out. He was still anxious. Looking back at Keturah, he smirked. They were basically isolated if she didn't have a transporter. Keeping his smirk on his face, he spoke once more.

"Then... are we castaways?"

Keturah laughed a little.
"Not quite. I know my way back to town. I just like coming here because of the flowers."
She held up the yellow flower in her hand for Athan to see. Some might find it strange that she would come all the way to Dantooine for flowers. The truth was, she was stretching the truth. In reality, she'd been temporarily staying here like she did on every other planet, stealing credits from wealthy accounts and making sure her father couldn't find her. But that wasn't something you just randomly told a stranger.
"I can show you to town, if you want. You could probably get some help to repair your ship."

"So, you like flowers a lot huh?" He glanced at the flower, then returned his eyes on Keturah. In his opinion, yellow looked great and all but he wondered what red would look like on her. Red was one of his preferred colors, although many would think black.

"I will take you up on your offer. A tour sounds interesting in the least." he paused looking at the poor ship. "I'd rather leave it here, it's kinda... stolen."

He wasn't planning on going anywhere, so a repair would be futile.
