An Oasis among the City (Kiso)

It didn't take long wandering Coronet City for Asani to decide she didn't really like cities so much. The density of people made her nervous, and the artificial urban jungle just felt wrong to her having grown up among forests. She wanted to leave this place, but wasn't sure, being that the planet was unknown to her, if the wilds beyond could possibly be even more dangerous than the city.

Soon however, she stumbled upon a park, and was glad to see that there was at least some more natural areas, though it was obvious to her that the park was made to someone's specifications. It still felt fake to her, but it was better in her opinion than being surrounded by buildings, and far better than being kept inside a trade ship or the home of the man who had purchased her from the trader. She wandered the park for a little while before finally making her way over to a corner as far away from people as she could, and laid down under a tree to rest for a bit.

Another planet another City, the all looked the same, even ones that were half in ruin, despite being used to them and being part metal herself she needed a little change once in a while. It had been a few months since her mercenary group she was in disbanded, true some of the members were getting old, other had left, but still they were family to her but sadly she could not force them to stay together. As a result she had taken this chance to do her own relaxation, perhaps later hitting up on of those casinos she had heard so much about.

As the strangle dressed merc walked the streets she too spotted the park in the distance, finely kept and most likely a private land for some rich person, still she as certain the owner would not mind if she took a quick rest under one of the trees. She looked around briefly before entering the park, the soft feeling of the grass under boot being alien but comfortable. She removed her boots and started to walk around enjoying the feeling, even if part of both legs were no longer skin, even the slightest touch was inviting.

It would seem that rest was duly needed, as Asani pretty quickly fell asleep under the tree. Later, as Kiso entered the park and took off her boots, the thud of the boots hitting the ground was enough to awaken her. Asani’s ears perked up first, then her eyes blinked open and she looked toward the presumed source of the sound, looking the woman up and down. The artificial legs looked odd to her but her gaze only lingered for a moment before rising to meet the woman’s eyes. “You like the feel of the grass on your feet too? It’s surely much more comfortable than the rock-hard streets of this awful place.” She stated simply as she sat up and brushed any dirt and debris out of her fur, which was a creamy white, since her nap has left her feeling rather content. She still wished she was home, but at least she was free and has found an island of nature in the urbanized ocean.

Strutting around the parks she failed to notice the small creature under tree, for a brief moment she let her emotion wander and started to jump around the park, frolicking almost, like a wild animal. That was until a voice came from her left, looking in that direction she did see another person, but a Kushiban of all things, sitting under a tree in the corner of the park.

She gave the creature a warm smile "It certainly is, why have so many cities abandoned such enjoyment". She walked a bit closer to the creature, it was adorable, and she had a huge soft spot for them. "My my your just the cutest little thing aren't you", she gave what she presumed to be female creature, a small poke to the noise. "Why is some one like you in a city like this"?

Asani watched with an amused expression as the woman pranced around the park like some kind of animal and inwardly wonders if this woman is enjoying the concept of the park even more than she was. She didn’t mind being called cute, even if it did remind her a little of the young girl who briefly kept her as a pet before she escaped. The poke to her nose however makes her blink, then look shoot a questioning gaze up at Kiso, as she wonders what the poke was for. Instead of asking about it however, she decides to answer the woman’s question. “Well, to say it briefly, I was taken from my home, kept on a filthy trade ship till I was sold as a pet to a man in this city who then gave me to his daughter. I escaped, and now I am here. I don’t even know what planet this is, but my name is Asani. Do you live around here?”

The questioning look Kiso was given mad her stop the teasing for a short bit, her face returning to its normal expression, she sat down in a traditional Seiza style listening to their tale. She grimaced slightly at the fact they were kept in a change and treated like a non-sentient animal, no matter how cute something was if it was sentient keeping it as a pet was no better then slavery.

"That is a sad tale to tell, I'm sorry if I insulted you with the whole cute and nose boop thing". She herself could not imagine life as a slave or similar, but it did not sound fun at all. "As for were you are, your in Coronet city on the trading world of Corellia, but unfortunately I do not live around here.... I used to in some regard". She gave a brief sight before recalling her memories.

"My family had always live on this planet, but come the One Sith wars around 20ish years ago and I was separated from them, never found them either, I live my life with a mercenary group, as you can tell I it had its ups and down". She pointed to part of her leg that was metal, one of the many components that made her a cyborg, "If my calculations are correct I am around 18.85% metal".

Asani shook her head as her fur began to turn yellow because she was happy this woman had not only stopped to talk with her, but also seemed to care about her treatment and feelings. “I do not feel insulted, I think I understand now that you did so because you like me. As for my story, at least the sad part is hopefully at an end as I’m free now, I’m just not sure what I should do. It sounds like you have had some sad times in your life too, though I guess most people are bound to have something bad happen to them at some point in their life.” She mused as she looked down at Kiso’s leg again as the woman commented that she was nearly 19% metal. “Can you still feel touch through the metal?” She asked with a curious tone, having never met anyone with an artificial limb before.

SHe was glad the creature did not feel insulted, past experiences had not always boded well for her when making certain comments, as for the the cyborg part of her that was another thing. Kiso brought her feet into view, the lower leg and part of her each foot being steel, though some parts were still flesh, "Though limited I can can still feel the ground to some extent, the fire caused by the explosion sort of singed my legs and feet". She moved again crossing her legs while continuing to talk, "Besides body replacements I also have a lot of implants to help normal body parts, like my arm has servos in it that increase my strength. So in addition to being around 19% metal my body has many internal implants as well, I also do not have proper blood, and artificial replica runs through my veins, makes using my bionic easier". This was a nice change of things from her usual work, perhaps she'd talk with people more often.

Her curiosity only grew as she continued to listen to Kiso speak about how much of her body was no longer natural, even if the thought of going through that herself made her cringe a bit. "It sounds like you've been through a lot, but although you've had some losses, you've come out stronger in the end. Did it hurt? I mean, getting all those implants and metal replacement limbs and all that." She asks before stretching a bit, and as she did her mind began to wander and she looked around the park for a bit before turning back to Kiso as she begins to wonder about something Kiso said earlier. "If you don't mind me asking, if you don't live here, does that mean you are just visiting, and will go somewhere else soon?" Asani had an ulterior motive for asking the question, but she kept it to herself, for now.

It seemed that her partner was very interested in Kiso's body though cyborgs were not uncommon most injuries that she attain could have been easily fixed with modern medical equipment, though she was not able to get such care in time leaving the damage permanent. "Well I don't really remember the operation, I was sedated, what hurt was having to last for 5 day with said injuries, was almost at deaths door when I was found, so no, it didn't hurt, and I am much stronger, both in body and mind".

She flexed her hand again, it felt natural but she knew it wasn't though this did not bug her, as long as one head their mind and soul they were still human. Her attention was brought back to [member="Asani Windsong"], "Yes I am just visiting, will be leaving soon, not much to really do around here any more, why do you ask"?

Asani was very curious about Kiso, as she's never met a cyborg before, but she realized she was asking a lot of questions and didn't want to take it too far. "If I'm asking too many questions about your 'upgrades' I apologize, I've just never met anyone like you. But you must be really tough to have endured such pain for nearly a week. I don't think I'd have lasted a day..." She said before pausing a bit, deciding it would be best to change the subject as it was a bit depressing and she was sure there were better things they could talk about, like continuing the conversation about whether Kiso was leaving soon.

"As for the visiting question, I ask because well, I have no ship, and while I'm not really sure where I want to go from here, I'm pretty sure I don't want to be stuck on this planet for the rest of my life. I was wondering if you could take me with you and maybe drop me off somewhere where I might find some help figuring out how I fit in this mixed up galaxy." She asks with a hopeful look in her eyes as she gazed up at Kiso.

She gave the creature a slight chuckle, "It's okay, I don't mind, its nice to talk with some one every now and then, an yes it was hard, but I was raised a fighter, though I did just manage to pull through". A smirk crept across her face, "But is is nothing compared to my teacher, i saw her take worse hits a survive, sometimes I wondered how she was able to do that, perhaps it was because she wore armor, and I didn't, the main reason I ended up like this".

She placed a hand on her chin and mulled over it, "I can understand not wanting to stay here more then needed, do doubt our previous owners would want to you back, no to mention the crime syndicates around". "I can help you, though I myself do not really have a place to go as of yet, but we may find you a suitable planet on the way, does that sound good for you"?

[member="Asani Windsong"]

Asani nodded happily, chuckling back at Kiso. "I'm still not really used to talking to other galactic species. Up until now, most seemed to view me as some kind of lesser being for them to take advantage of, and didn't really seem to listen much if I spoke back to them. It was good practice though for learning the language, so at least there is that... But anyway, sure, traveling with you until we find a good place for me to stop at sounds great." She stated before happily changing the subject again. "You're teacher sounds like some sort of super being though. I guess that she would be mostly metal by now if not for the armor?" She wondered, a horrible image of some sort of amalgamation between human and droid appearing in her mind and making her shudder.
