An uneasy feeling...

Hello all,

I have tagged all Lightsided Force Users of the faction in this post. Anyone who would like to join, please do. One of the story arcs I want to pursue is a general sense of growing darkness that Jedi from all over the galaxy are sensing.

This will, for those interested, culminate in a meeting between the various Jedi to discuss their concerns for this growing darkness and a plan for investigating it.

I think it would be interesting if all those involved play out their interpretation of the "darkness" in a post and then eventually come together, that way we see the various backgrounds (e.g., Kian will be, at first, aboard the Gnost Dural, where he spends most of his time).

Aboard the Gnost Dural
In Orbit Above Dorin

The captain of the Gnost Dural, a scarred Bothan by the name of Admiral Kurat, worked diligently to keep the routine of the vessel relatively unpredictable. He refueled and resupplied at a number of locations with varying patterns so as the keep the ship's location relatively hard to predict. It wasn't really a necessary precaution given the stealth capabilities of the vessel, but, as with the Jedi Shadows that they worked alongside, the crew of the Gnost Dural were a paranoid bunch. Dorin was one of the preferred locations to restock and refuel due to the fact that the twin black holes made it a planet that saw little traffic compared to many.

While the crew scrambled about, working diligently to resupply the vessel and get back on their route, Kian Karr, the Jedi Master in charge of the Shadows on board, sat cross-legged on the mat in his quarter, looking out over the planet of his birth through the transparent wall before him. Kian closed his eyes as he fell deeper into his meditative trance. Slowly he found himself drifting on the current of the force....somewhere between consciousness and unconsciousness....drifting like a leaf in a stream.

Darkness.....darkness surrounded him......
blood flowed across rock....
screams echoed through his mind and Kian's breathing became heavy....
He felt coldness seeping into his bones and Kian wanted nothing more than to pull himself out of this pattern of thinking.....but something was holding him here.
He saw red eyes.....and black robes......
Sith.....
Kian's eyes shot open and he gasped, his breath catching in his throat as he clutched at his chest. It was a powerful feeling that had washed over him, far more powerful than what typically did. Kian wasn't gifted in foresight, or force visions and he had little understanding of what he'd just witnessed.

But Kian knew one thing.....there was a great source of darkness out there....somewhere.....

In orbit around Laeka

The events at Tygarra had left Callista with a lot to think about. It had been a while since she'd been involved in any kind of combat. Her last stint had been one of her last missions to Coruscant to help Master Myk-Ron Dinn and company. That.... while successful had had it's own share of issues. Her lips thinned into a line and she settled down onto the medication cushion in her quarters.

There was much she had to sort out... and honestly, she had no idea where to start. Tygara... and the wadding on Midvinter. Here her lips quirked as she thought about the hours she'd spent talking with [member="Connor Harrison"] following the ceremony. She still wasn't entirely sure where her place was her in this galaxy.

But, talking with him had helped to put things in perspective a bit. And for that, she was grateful. Sighing softly, she settled more onto the medication cushion and crossed her legs, resting her hands palm up on her knees as she let her eyes fall closed. Even at Tygara she'd had a pervading sense of something... growing... spreading. While it wasn't specifically aimed at the Levantine Sanctum, she'd felt it regardless. A darkness, a sense of cold fear that settled in her stomach. The sensation was one she'd not felt since the battles she'd fought on Mykr and Bastion in her own galaxy.

Voss, near the Silver Temple

The lakeside had become a familiar venue for Syala in her time as a Silver Jedi. Her first real foothold within the Order as a Padawan had begun there, and in the months following had continued to shape itself under guidance from her Master. While their bond and teachings were always twisting and turning in different directions, that clear water and the trees and grass surrounding it remained steadfast and unchanging. It was one facet of her life that had remained identical to how it always had been, a rock when everything else was shifting. And now, as a Knight, she had returned again, once again different.

A cool breeze stirred the grass beneath her feet and the leaves of the trees, gently blowing back locks of light brown hair. A sense of peace accompanied it, spreading through her body until she felt nearly weightless. This was home, or as close to it as she would ever get in her life. And her fellow Jedi were family, her Master akin to the figure of an elder brother, or how she imagined one to be. This was where she belonged, the surrounding wilderness and the Temple that dominated the landscape as natural a place for her to be as any. It left her at ease, knowing that she was safe here.

Stepping off the beaten path she sat, legs folded beneath her, smoothing out her robes, folding her hands and resting them on her lap. Within seconds her breathing evened, becoming steady and slow as her eyes slid shut. The world itself seemed to slow down, her senses heightened and yet dampened at the same time as the Force seemed to wrap about her, enshrouding her in a blanket of calm and warmth. It was a sensation she had become accustomed to, something as natural as breathing itself. It was a unique bond she shared with the energy field, something steady and sporadic in the glimpses it afforded her of events that chanced to come true.

A growing darkness encroached on her vision, roiling black clouds trespassing on the beautifully light horizons that otherwise filled her line of sight. Along with them came a foreboding dread, a cold lump that settled in the pit of her stomach, refusing to budge even as she attempted to push it away, only growing as the coming storm seemed to engulf everything within the vicinity. Without warning lightning cracked across the sky, lighting up her surroundings just long enough to reveal the crimson blade that had once been shrouded in a thick, choking darkness. Thunder rumbled, shaking the very earth beneath her feet.

Grey-blue eyes snapped open to regard the world about her once more, her breathing shaky. Slowly she pushed herself to her feet, unsure of all she had just seen. But one word rang true. Sith.
