The Anathema was forged by Darth Imperius after his Rebirth, marking not only an end to his being as Aurelian Sigismund, but also eradicating allegiances and relations that previously held him in place. It was a testament, a commitment, a decision manifested in the will and powers that were infused in the smithing of this dark weapon.
Forged from Sarassian Iron, the blade was not only infused with a Qixoni crystal but also a Opila crystal matrix running through its core, a conduit not only for Force powers to be used with and channeled through the weapon but also to receive the blessing of Sith Alchemy. The blade was sharpened not only on a mono-molecular level but also by the appliance of Svolten Rhyolite. Its double handguard and pommel were made of an alloy created from Haysian Smelt and Cortosis, giving it a golden finish while reinforcing its protective value against lightsabers. Both had multiple, socketed Rubat crystals in it to give the weapon its amplifying attributes. The hexagonal grip a Red Rachtorwood which was hulled in alchemised Terentatek leather. In-built to the grip were an enhanced vibration and ion cell, making the blade in its purely physical form a deadly weapon against organic and destructive against droid opponents.
But its physical properties were just one side of the creation process. The dark sorcery used to create the weapon was not only of extreme proficiency but final cruelty. It was blood that paid for the weapons vast improvements, blood of two individuals that both represented a connection to a life Imperius abandoned, burnt and deleted from memory. It was the blood of Primarion Hiperius [x] that was used to temper the heated weapon, the mortally wounded first son of his Eternal Legion, infusing the blade with not only martyred and tormented soul of the clone-warrior, but also with its ability to Force Drain from those it wounded and transfer it to Darth Imperius. It was a final end to the project that had occupied the Eternal Imperator for decades and yet yielded little in its form other than glorified guards and stormtroopers.
The quenching of the blade, the actual hardening and finalising of its temper was achieved by ramming the large weapon down the throat and spine of Darth Imperius biological son, Valerian. It was the consequence of eradicating a perceived weakness and undoing a future enemy before it could come into being. The mere act of murdering the young man in cold blood, in his home was enough to nearly create a Dark nexus, but hardened the blade against any but the strongest Light side influence and presence and making it an antithesis to life itself, it became Anathema by this action.
Now the black-golden weapon is always with Darth Imperius, the extension of his will, the manifestation of his darkest deeds and an announcement that more would come.
