Strengths:
- Echo-Location: The original purpose of the Rings become incredibly clear once they are first put in place. Both of these rings are placed upon a Twi'leks Lekku. Once they are snapped into place, the Twi'lek immediately gains an extra-sensory ability very similar to what Togruta experience due to their montrals. The rings, much like Montrals, allow a Twi'lek wearing them to essentially 'sense' what is around them through Echolocation. They are capable of tracking, locating, and following movements through simple these rings.
- Training: The rings essentially give someone an extra sense. Much like one would expect, using this sense properly takes time. When the rings are first into place it can sometimes be overwhelming to the Twi'lek wearing them since it essentially grants them a new type of 'vision'. When putting them on for the first time this can lead to dizziness, nausea, and sometimes unconsciousness. Using the rings properly also takes time, allowing the used to acclimate to their new sense.
- Sensitivity: Unfortunately, the rings have a single major drawback. While wearing the rings, the Twi'lek who dons them experiences a form of heightened sensitivity. Touch, taste, pain, etc are all increased while wearing them. This can lead to a certain amount of detraction of the Rings use, especially since their primary function is to better assassination attempts. When in a fight the rings can hinder the user, a simple knife wound feeling twice as painful.
Description:
Though they have no real name, the Ancient Lekku Rings currently owned by Vrak Nashar were created millenia ago during the Resurgent Sith Empire.
At the time powerful Sith Lords, both Pureblood and a mix of various lesser alien species(and some humans) held significant sway within the galaxy. Many systems had fallen under the sway of the Sith, power was easy to come by and as always competition was was a constant among the Sith.
This competition eventually bread the need for Assassin. Sith would try to have one another killed or deposed, and quickly it became evident that those who had the best assassins would rise the fastest. Thus many Sith Sith Lords began the training of killers and murderers of all sorts. One Sith Lord in particular took interest in Twi'leks due to their...seductive nature. He saw them as useful tools in a hierarchy where they were often used as slaves and lovers among the Sith. The Sith Lord quickly began training of a small cadre of Assassins that would aid him and only him.
Wanting them to have every advantage, and knowing the arts of Sith Alchemy, the Sith Lord created many trinkets for his servants.
Among them was a set of rings, designed to fasten into place around a Twi'leks Lekku. The jewelry appears as a simple set of bracelets, albeit much smaller, their size easily adjustable with small fasteners to keep them in place upon different sized head-tails.
Once attached these rings offer a unique ability, giving the user a sense that was similar to what is produced by a Togruta's Montrals. With the rings, The Sith Lord's assassins were able to sense figures around them, allowing them to more easily sneak into places by avoiding guards, cameras, and other physical objects around them. Of course there were drawbacks to the use of the rings, though with enough time and training these were mitigated.
The cadre of Assasisns, much like their Master, eventually died out.
The Resurgent Empire faded away into antiquity and their memory faded. The rings fell into the hands of the Nashar family, keepers of history and secrets, eventually they reached the only remaining son of the lineage; Vrak Nashar.
Upon being assured of her loyalty Vrak gifted the rings to Seraphina Shel'Tah, allowing her to better perform the tasks he sends her on.
