Anger leads to Hate (Krest)

OUTER RIM
REPUBLIC TERRITORY
SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH TOWER IN THE CITY OF CHOAL

Far from the One Sith's territory, in the Outer Rim region of where the Republic still held some control, lay the planet of Jabiim. The newly named Darth Valtryx was on Jabiim, specifically it's capital city; Choal. With her hood obscuring her face, she examined the tower before her. It was located somewhat near the outskirts of the city, standing at the height of an average skyscraper. At the top, she knew, were a group of scientists working on technology to aid the Army of the Light in their war against the Sith. Only one of many research groups, but this particular one interested Valtryx greatly. It was under the protection of [member="Krest"], her former friend and master. Her hatred for the Zabrak was strong, yet she managed to hide it for now as to prevent drawing too much attention to herself through the force. They were close though, and no doubt he could sense something wasn't quite right...

Wasting no more time, the Sith entered the tower's ground floor where she was met by only two guards armed with blasters. A quick yet strong blast of the force dispersed them effectively, allowing her to enter the elevator which led right to the top. The ascent was quiet, and upon reaching the top she saw the compound that lay out before her. A giant courtyard of artificial grass and planets, surrounded by one large corridor. She knew as soon as she stepped out of the elevator she would be seen, since it was merely one long glass window that stood between the courtyard outside and the science labs inside. Moving forward and pulling down her hood, the Yodaling spotted a figure on the other side of the courtyard.

It had to be him...

He could feel her. The red skinned man stood at the top, both hands resting behind his back. He could feel [member="Darth Valtryx"] , his apprentice. He had no knowledge of her fall, but the ground floor made it apparent. Minna was no more. But Krest stood stoic, knowing the oath that she had taken was one he had so long ago. The Ession scientists were in the room behind him, protected for now by thick glass doors. On his hip was his duel phase saber he had fallen in love with. But it was accompanied by another this time. He wore his basic armor, his gaze focused on the yodaling.

"So you've fallen."

Valtryx moved closer to him, but not too close. "Enlightened, I have been. See the traitors for what they are, I do." Her eyes scanned past Krest, noticing the scientists behind him. There was no turning back now, it was time for him to die. Taking off her outer robes, the Yodaling unholstered her new lightsaber and ignited it's crimson red blade. "Join the Sith, Krest. Redeem yourself." Her eyes narrowed at him. "Or die." She added, assuming her opening ataru stance of holding the blade to her side with both hands, pointing her chest towards it at the same time. Allowing some time for the zabrak to reply, Valtryx let the hate build up inside her. She knew he would refuse, and she would make him pay for such treachery.

Krest's eyes narrowed at the offer. So this was how far gone his friend was. He would pull out his two sabers, activating them both in unison. The pale blue blade was mirrored by a vivid orange. Opposites it seemed. The blades would be kept at his sides as he would take up his own stance. Niman. No weaknesses, no strengths.

"I'm not going to join the Sith again. They were weak."

"No..." Valtryx frowned. "You are weak!" Her voice bellowed around the courtyard, full of rage and anger. Alongside her words came her opening attack, a giant leap forwards followed by a flurry of rapid strikes from above. They had no particular aim yet, but they were fast and plenty. After these strikes she would aim to land on the other side of Krest, from which she could lunge forward with another multitude of slices, alternating their direction from left to right. It was clear she had much more aggression in her fighting style now, so much so that a terrible aura of pure hatred could be felt emanating from her. There was no holding back.

Krest's blades flicked upwards the moment she leapt. His blades would move to slash upwards, catching her fury along the edges of his own. Turning with her, he wouldn't stick around for the second flurry. With both hands forward, he would send a force push intent on sending her back with the impact.

It was then that he would charge in, bringing his two blades around for her chest. She was a small target, but he would press on none the less. Both blades would come from the left, aiming to drag across her to the right. He was not holding back, no matter how much he had wanted to. It wasn't just his life on the line.

Valtryx was indeed sent back by the Force Push, but she managed to flip backwards and land without fault just in time to see Krest coming at her. Instead of dodging like usual she let her blade clash with his two, fueling added strength into herself through the hatred she had for him. "When I left you, but the learner, I was. Now, the master, I will be." She grinned, intending to taunt him, hoping she could sway him towards acting on pure emotion rather than the balance she had fooled herself into believing in. When she knew she could no longer hold against his blades, she pushed up against them and moved her blade in an arc over her, aiming to bringing his sabers over with hers and push them aside. If they were to be pushed, she'd aim for a quick strike to the opposite, hopefully unprotected side of his body. It all came down to his reactions. To prevent a counter attack, she would finally leap once again over him and land on the other side, seeing if her attack had succeeded and awaiting the zabrak's next move.

His frown was apparent. He didn't bother answering her, no. He wasn't angry, he wasn't afraid. He was disappointed. But he was too focused on the duel to feel it for much longer. As his blades sailed over her, a quick build up of the force would erect a barrier to catch her saber for him. As she lept over, he would turn, both of his blades held off to the side.

"You're a disappointment." His own taunt. He knew full well how reckless a Sith could be when angered, and he wanted to use it against [member="Darth Valtryx"]

How dare he. Valtryx rushed forward out of anger, releasing a flurry of blindingly fast attacks from all directions, yet again with no particular aim. Her lightsaber became nothing but a giant flash of red. But she did not care where she hit, she just wanted to hit him. "I hate you!" She cried, unwilling to give up her assault. Her rage gave her the energy to continue on until Krest countered or dodged, a very persistent effort on her part.

Krest once more flicked his blades up to defend, but this time it wasn't as easy. She hated him. Those words stung more then they should have. He knew she was Sith, he knew [member="Darth Valtryx"] was a threat he needed to destroy. But she was his best friend. His closest friend. Her words dug into him more then her saber, which he was finding nicking at his form. He was top slow now, weighed down by his sadness. He brought up his arm to try and break the assault, to halt his apprentice.

Only to find his left arm floating through the air. Without him. He stares in disbelief as the red saber removed his limb, and he quickly stumbled back, dropping his pale blue saber. His hand instantly went to the stub of his right, gripping. And then there was pain. He dropped down, staring up at his apprentice with wide eyes of shock. She was going to kill him now.

Valtryx gave a smile full of malice. Her saber lowered, and instead her spare hand pointed towards Krest. "Suffer for your treachery, you shall." She said, allowing an uncontrolled channel of lightining to pour from her fingertips and towards the zabrak, intending to cause him great pain without killing him. The smile on her face only widened, she was going to have her fun, the scientists could wait for a few moments. Either way, she had to make sure Krest wouldn't stop her killing them.

Krest's body arched under the the electricity. He was in way to much pain to even think about defending himself. The most he could do was writhe under the assault, all of his senses burning. He was utterly helpless.

The time had come. Valtryx had the chance to kill the traitor right now! But... wait. Her eyes slowly rose up from Krest's slumped body to see the scientists moving about considerably, trying to find some way of escaping the building. As much as Krest's certain death was a reward, she could not allow her mission to fail. With her red lightsaber still active, she walked over to the giant glass doors protecting the innocent people. The looks of fear on their faces only fed her bloodlust, as she slowly but surely carved a hole into the door. A quick force push later, and the door came crashing down. Wasting no time, the Sith sprung into action, slicing down the poor souls without a second thought. The tower became flooded with the sounds of their screams...

Krest's breath was shallow, and he was curled up on the ground, panting heavily. He was burned in places, and his body just could stop shaking. But he wasn't alone. As his once friend went to slaughter those he was to protect, he was dragged away by a large black shadow. Ber'reth, his Bha'lir, came to save his life and bring him away.

The scientists all lay dead, their bodies littered with saber marks and burns from the Sith's lightning. Turning back to the courtyard now that her job was done, Valtryx realised something was missing... Krest... She cursed aloud, looking all around her for the damn zabrak, to no avail. So consumed by her anger and hatred, she began flinging objects around the courtyard with the force, shattering glass and wrecking plants. By the end of her rage, the once beautiful research area looked more like a war zone. "Find you... I will..." She spoke mostly to herself, but also looked to the sky. "And kill you!" Her words were directed to Krest, even though he would not physically hear them. Depending on how close he was though, he may have felt her anger even out of orbit.

She was furious...

Krest, in his haze of pain, could hear ger words echo through the force. His gaze fell to the ground has he lay a top his friend, and he knew it from what he could feel. Minna had died. Glancing to the stump of his right arm, he let out a sigh. Once more she had removed one of his limbs. But.. It felt normal to him now. Not having the limbs at least. His eyes stared back up at the empty tower as it faded away. The next meeting would go in another direction.
