- Man of Science: Selected for indoctrination into the Gorog hive mind because of an already brilliant mind for the sciences, Talin's access to nested consciousnesses preserving knowledge spanning millennia has catapulted him to a senior position within the Chiss Science Reserve. Now prominently considered to be among the brightest minds in all the Aristocra, his position within the ruling hierarchy is for the moment secure.
- Gorog Joiner: Directly exposed to Killik pheromones, the Chiss who was once Talin is now a Joiner of the Gorog Nest. Able to receive electrical impulses directly from the hive mind, he has the senses and combat reflexes of an elite Killik warrior. While the process doesn't fundamentally alter his racial biochemistry, the nest is capable of suppressing all sense of pain and bears witness to everything he does.
- Physical Manifestations: In order to blend within Chiss society, Gorog allows Talin some limited autonomy by suppressing the nest's connection and allowing his original host personality to fully emerge. Injury, sudden environmental changes, and deadly situations can all trigger manifestations of his true form as a Joined Chiss. He is also susceptible to a variety of chemical dangers that would normally only threaten insectoid species.
- Membrosia Addiction: Over enough time sharing a body, both Talin and the Gorog have developed a mutual unhealthy appreciation for black membrosia. Illegal and highly suspect in Chiss space, the narcotic's effects are not only debilitating, but yet another indicator that there is more to Talin's physiology than meets the eye.
By all estimations considered classically handsome by Chiss standards, Talin is known for keeping his hair more closely cropped in popular military fashion. Although his status as an officer is largely ceremonial, he is rarely seen out of uniform, its distinct embellishments marking him as a member of the Science Reserve. In his natural state, Talin's eyes are obsidian black like all Killik Joiners. When Gorog allows his personality to emerge however, they appear to be the same crimson as any other true blooded Chiss.
