  • Technology: Galatic Standard
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Anoat was once a vibrant world and a jewel of the entire sector in the days before the Clone Wars. But like many worlds in the Outer Rim, the Galatic Empire left a permanent mark by unleashing chemical weapons on the surface, poisoning both its inhabitants as well as the very planet itself. Following this tragedy, Anoat was little more than a footnote in galactic history that was occasionally picked over by scavengers. Life did cling on however, various tribes of mutant survivors wandered the ruined cities on the surface, managing to scratch out some meager life amongst the toxic wreckage of their world.

As the Sith Order reunited once more in the Outer Rim, Anoat fell into its grasp. Significant efforts were made to clean the toxic world and make it habitable once more, but these efforts were halted as various Sith sought to unseal the remaining vaults of technology left behind by the Galatic Empire. Following this contest, efforts to purify Anoat ground to a halt as the Sith turned their eyes elsewhere. Following significant reorganization within the Sith bureaucracy, Anoat was claimed by Darth Nefaron, who was unchallenged in his bid for a dead, toxic world. Upon arrival, Nefaron began construction of his fortress and began his terrible experiments, hidden by Anoat's thick atmosphere. Countless slave transports arrived to deliver their terrified cargo, these poor beings were forced into endless servitude and torment by their new master. Some remained slaves, working on the fortress or being forced into the pits below, carving out great tunnels, and mining what little resources remained below the surface to continue the expansion of Nefaron's kingdom of terror. Others were taken by the Dark Lord and utterly broken, their minds warped until nothing but rage and hatred were all they had left. These are the Corpse Legionaries, servants of Nefarons will, and enforcers of his Dark Regime.

The more power Nefaron accrues, the more slaves flow into Anoat. The Corpse Lord has taken great care to hide his operations on Anoat and the toxic world continues to be his greatest tool in his preparations to bring terror to the entire galaxy.
