One depressing city to another, Ethos City was no different than Denon except you didn't have a bunch of undercover revolutionary rejects running around. That was the vibe Emraj got as he got off the shuttle finding himself on a crowded space port. Chasing Darkwire alone was no easy feat, and he needed a decent partner if he was going to catch them. Corposec had to stop giving him rookies who joined the force with nothing but a degree and two days of blaster training. He needed someone who's head was in the right place and knew what they were doing. The disgruntled detective was given a meeting with the Ethos City Police Department in hopes of finding someone suitable. Must've had a good police force if he had to be sent halfway across the galaxy to find at least one person to be Emraj's partner. But at least the Company was paying for his hotel though that was taken out of his salary. Cheap bastards.

Reaching the spaceport terminal he was supposed to meet with the ECPD who was to take him straight to their headquarters where Emraj was supposed to meet the commissioner of the force who was supposed to set him up with tours around their best precincts. He was already annoyed with the journey here and if this force was a joke he would go back to Denon and pay his own way back if that's what it took. There was an officer who flagged him down, he looked like he was from the commissioner's office considering how dressed he was. Saying nothing, Emraj got into the speeder and they made their way to the precinct. Neon lights and gray skies was something Emraj was accustomed to after spending so much time on Denon so Ethos City was nothing really to look at yet the driver insisted on making small talk with the man. "How's Ethos City?" He asked.

"Don't know." Was all he could say. He didn't wanna be rude to the guy even though the city just gave him so many Denon vibes he couldn't stop thinking about it. Thankfully the driver recognized his faux pas and just kept his eyes on ahead of him until they reached the precinct. The speeder parked in a lot to the side of the main entrance. The driver escorted him inside and it up to the commissioner's office.

Walking inside, Emraj saw the commissioner try to hide a screen that was obviously a wire transfer. If it was a buyable police force then maybe he should head home now. But there was probably someone worth traveling the galaxy to find. “Ah investigator. Welcome to Ethos City. We don’t want to waste too much of your time. Here’s the list of the precincts the force has agreed for you to meet. Best of the best.” He said boastfully.

“Thanks.”

“And you should know we have a lot of suitable candidates. Some might just be right under your nose.” The commissioner was clearly referring to himself as he gave Emraj a wide smile. But he just played it off and spoke plainly. “Right, I’ll keep that in mind. I’ll let you know when I’ve found who I need.” And with that Emraj left to do some scouting.

Precint 1018, Lithios, Ethos City
——————————————————————

The infamous ECPD Precint 1018 was known for its investigator's division known as Major Crimes that was in charge of investigating, supressing and solving any and all cases regarding organized crime on Ethos City however most of the law enforcement officers that belonged to this precinct carried over a reputation for being corrupt.

Roy was not like them, he had promised himself that much a long time ago: Make a difference in the city that raised you, do not become one of the bad guys. A holographic screen surfaced in front of the rough-looking man, the mugshot of a known racketeer with some confidential details popped out almost instantly.

"Now, now. Where are you?" He muttered to himself while tapping away on the holo-keyboard. "You're not that smart."

The detective's desk was piled up with folders that covered every single inch of his desk, a framed picture of Roy with a girl rested peacefully among the chaos of what was nothing but casework. A disorganized desk reflected the man's personality but that didn't necessarily mean Roy was untrustworthy, perhaps he was the only cop in the city that you couldn't bribe.

"I need a coffee."

Emraj's first stop was Precinct 1018, apparently they were one of the best Major Crimes precincts in the whole city which earned Emraj's number one stop. He was given his own speeder and the authorization as an official oberserver to the ECPD. He was given an official pass and everything. Traffic seemed pretty light which made the journey pretty quick. He parked the speeder in front of the precinct, making his way to the entrance and walked in to find the secretary who hadn't taken notice of the man in the suit til he approached her. "May I help you sir?" She asked.

Emraj showed his pass before speaking, "I'm looking for the precinct of the captain. Would you mind telling me where he is?"

"Of course, make a right and his office should be at the end of the hall."

"Thanks." And with that, Emraj made his way to see the captain of the precinct not before bumping into Roy Krannurak at the water cooler and briefly apologizing. He made his way to the two way glass walls that marked the captains office who was kind enough to have the door open. "Mr. Hosdole. Pleasure to have you here with us. We're fortunate for Denon to come to us for a merger."

"I don't know what you heard but Corposec isn't looking to merge, whatever that means. I need a list of your best detectives, once I find the one I'm looking for I'll ask you to authorize his transfer and I'll be on my way."

"Right of course... Here's the list of the detectives we have. Ranked from most accomplished to least."

"Thanks." and before the captain could usher another word, Emraj left the office and looked through the precinct roster on his data pad. Apparently these detectives have worked numerous cases and busted a lot of different people. Smugglers, bounty hunters, politicians, financiers, gangsters, and... Spice dealers? Well it was kinda the outer rim and it was a big city but... These guys all had some sophisticated cases under their belts. They were all practically the same.

Suddenly as Emraj walked down the hall an particular office caught his eye. The inhabitant of the office was Roy Krannurak. Emraj put his data pad in his pocket and walked in the office to find endless files piled upon the detective's desk. Emraj looked at the detective's terminal, the case involving a racketeer. Probably a launderer of some sort? He took a look at some of the other files, some mission persons cases, murders, and thievery. The detective's office infatuated him so much that he wouldn't leave and pay no attention to anyone who would see him.
