- Efficient - By standard comparisons Conversion Fields are far more efficient against Kinetics than traditional shielding and are usually very difficult to overwhelm.
- Radiant Burst - Particularly powerful Kinetics such as Railguns produce large and sudden bursts of light which may temporarily blind any observers.
- Suppression - Conversion Fields have a negative effect on fast moving Starships that enter their influence, starships may experience increased turbulence and moderately reduced speed.
- Ion Immune - Conversion Fields do not interact with Ion based energy making it impervious to such weapon systems. Generators will still be affected, if they can be hit directly but the shields themselves ignore its effects.
- Penetration - Conversion Fields do not completely block incoming projectiles, instead reducing the force of their impact by stripping away it's Kinetic Energy.
- Energy Weaponry - Energy Weapons are unaffected by the field and operate normally.
- Heat Generation - Microwave lasers and other energy based weapons may find success in overheating emitters causing safety features to disable the shields much the same way Ion affects traditional shielding.
