Intent: To create a droid that uses the basic structure of a feline skeleton to speed through the battle field and cut their way into walkers.
Development Thread:
Manufacturer: Wyrding Yards
Model: HNT-3 Prowler Assault Droid
Affiliation: Wyrding Yards, the Techno Union (ASA)
Modularity: None.
Production: Mass Production
Material: Durasteel, Claws are reinforced quadranium
Classification: Fourth Degree
Weight: 300 kg
Height: 1.1 meter
Length: 3.4 meters
Movement: Quadrupedal
Armaments:
Vibro Claws
Heavy head mounted Cutting Tourch
Misc. Equipment:
Magnetic Footpads
Description: A cybernetic mainframe designed around the form and function of a predatory cat. This war droid was meant to bring strength and agility into the battle field in the most feral of ways. With a design suited to attacking walkers, they could scale buildings and war machines easily with their magnetic foot plating. With the aid of a powerful cutting torch mounted on their head the HNT-3 could burn and claw through and enter hulls of most walkers and attack those inside. A pair of HNT-3 Prowlers would be assigned to a single squad unit or deployed in packs of five to attack mobile weapons units and walkers.
One aspect of the design that needed to be sacrificed for the sake of mass production was the mounting of a ranged weapon. Lacking the ability to hold a blaster or any basic droid manipulators, the droid was limited in its interaction with the world. However on the field it proved to be a fast and agile creature. Nearly five times stronger than creatures of the same size, its speed, though greater than a human, never reaches much above organic feline peak; clocked at a speedy 112 kmph. One notable drawback was its vulnerability to broadside attacks. Through concussive force or a powerful enough blaster shot to its side, the HNT-3 Prowler could be unbalanced and knocked off of its feet.
The HNT-3 was not equipped with a vocabulator, but was equipped with a droid brain that could understand Basic and could be programmed to understand two other languages. The droid's mannerisms when not in combat lacked any sense of animalistic undertone outside of locomotion.
