The traditional weapon of the Anubian warriors of the Ancient Eye, the 1.9 meters long blasterstaff is an iconic piece of technology, unique to Ankhypt. An ancient design that has been gradually improved and perfected over the ages, each blasterstaff is a unique weapon, handcrafted by the warrior who wields it, as a rite of passage upon reaching adulthood. Despite this, some standardized features have emerged, such as the weapon's size, stopping power, ammunition capacity and accuracy.
Each blasterstaff is engraved with decorative patterns and hieroglyphs, telling the story of the warrior who wields it and the great accomplishments of the warrior's ancestors. Some blasterstaffs are handed down from generation to generation and are jealously-guarded heirlooms.
Based on a design that has been perfected over many generations, the blasterstaff is a very accurate weapon that excels on the open battlefield, however its size and low rate of fire, give it a disadvantage in tight urban, or shipboard environments. Additionally, because of its size, the blasterstaff is slow to reload, though it can also be used as a melee weapon, should the enemy manage to get too close.
