Any suggestions on how I go about this?

Lord Tarantula

An Arachnid, not a Cephalopod
Well, I ran into the obvious question of making a cyborg based off Doc Ock: How do I go about subbing the arms? Are they droids, or what? I bugged a couple of people, including Raziel, about it but they're busy.

So far, I've got one very helpful suggestion: The arms would be generally run through an interphase chip in Tarantula's brain.

@Anybody who's good with SW cybernetic logic.

And where were the spiders
Why did I not see this until now

So, we're looking at them being complex, are they free thinking, or are they always controlled by him? If we rope the cybernetics through the nervous system, either through the gut-brain http://www.bbc.com/news/health-18779997Or the actual brain. If they were droid they'd still ahve to be sort of networked in.

Could be a mind cybernetic enhancement that networks short wave to those arms.

I'd also recommend making the arms of a Cortosis weave or Phrik. Beskar would be too heavy.

Right now, I'm looking at them actually being detachable from a harness that's currently implanted into his nervous system through his armor, but might eventually be directly attached to his back. Having them actually be cognitive would be cool, 'cos then I could mess with the whole thing about having the arms be remotely controlled when he's not connected to them (The movie is the only version of Ock where he can't do that... Mostly cause they can't come off)

As for lightsaber resistance, I might be helping Token with her Songsteel thread. That should be light enough, I think.
