Anyone here play 40k?

I used to ages ago. With the most recent price hikes putting even a basic troop box up to the price point it's at, I sold off everything except my tools and brushes and am pretty well done with GW's product. I love the IP and setting, but I just can't support or condone how GW acts and runs as a company.

I've long since lost my giant army of original-chapter "vanilla" marines. I don't see myself recovering or replacing them in the near future. :|

I may save forty or fifty bucks and buy a couple units for casual play some time but that's it.

Ha, sounds like Im the only one who still plays. Im sure by my avatar you can tell my favored race. Love the Tau. My communist weeabo babies. I got about 3,000 points worth of them.

Must agree here. I never played Warhammer 40k but I used to paint Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game models. I used to get annoyed because I would spend sometimes upwards of $75 on a big model, only for the parts to not even fit together correctly. For their exorbitant prices the pieces should really be of better quality.

Add to that how they treat third party companies making accessories and such for their IP, or indeed even fan films and costumers and the like, and the company has just fallen from when Jervis ran it. Ahhh, the good ole days...
