STRENGTHS
- Proton Beam Cannon: The proton beam can inflict massive amounts of damage to opposing ships.
- Long Range Guns: The long-range guns of the Apollo Class give an added advantage in fleet positioning.
- Dual Role: The forward-mounted weapons are evident, the port and starboard compliments are the kickers.
- Power Drain: The Long guns and the Proton beam both deal tremendous damage, but extended use will kill the power reserves on the ship. They must be used sparingly.
- Too Many Big Guns: The Apollo is a destroyer to be sure, but she is designed to take on the bigger ships. Tracking systems are difficult when it comes to engaging smaller vessels.
- SLOOOOOW: The Apollo can battleship to ship but she is not going to do it quickly.
The Apollo was designed out of the idea that an exploration vessel was needed. She is a warship, to be sure, but that is out of the need to be self-sufficient. Not a dedicated carrier, but able to carry ten squadrons of fighters, the Apollo makes a capable fighter platform. The stores allow for long periods out among the stars. The Apollo is more than capable in a fight and durable in many environments.
