SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Alternating Ammunition: The Boreal is capable of loading one of four particular flavors of ammunition.
  • Composite Stock: A shock absorbing stock for comfort and versatility.
  • Corkscrew Rifling: grooved rifling caused projectiles to spin, making them more stable over long ranges.
  • Hand-Made Components: Each Boreal is hand-made to ensure almost perfect calibration
  • Hybrid Damage: This weapon deals multiple kinds of damage.
  • Light Magazine: Magazines that are easily reloaded.
  • Long Life Ammunition: Ammunition maintains their charge for an extreme duration.
  • Magnetized Projection: Electromagnetic projectile emission for long range high accuracy shots.
  • Modular Scope: Universal attachments to equip a range of various optic devices.
  • Shielded Ammunition: Armoured Magazines protect against shots hitting ammo caches.
  • Silent as the Grave: Rounds fired by this weapon are silent, to all but the most sensitive scanners.
  • Vintage Style: A classic hybridization of vintage and modern for a contemporary look.
  • Warp Proof Barrel: Ultrachrome B plating affords precision firing over long periods of time.
STRENGTHS
  • Thunderous Cry: The hammer of one of these rounds hitting its target is nothing short of outstanding, far exceeding the power of a standard maser or blaster weapon the hybrid thermal / kinetic damage dealt by this weapons unique charged particle rounds are capable of melting durasteel and shattering duraplast with their standard rounds. Meanwhile the chemical cocktail of charged particles contained within each of the bullet shaped canisters loaded into the weapon can each fire five rounds with the particles contained within them.
  • Advanced Ammunition: Each of the bullet shaped containers the Boreal Cry employs contains a chemical cocktail of charged particles spliced with Tibana Gas in such a manner to cause reactions within the plasmic Tibana to cause five varying effects pushing certain effects to their extremes: 1/ Causing them to react with the atmosphere to create grenade-like explosions. 2/ To irradiate the Tibana gas to destroy chemical bonds before impact for armour piercing. 3/ To better magnetize the plasma to the mag rails of the barrel, firing the round at increased velocities. 4/ A highly Volatile Additive which reacts with solid substances such as metals on contact which causes rounds to deflect from its surfaces. 5/ Finally, highly purified Tibana which allows light to pass through it, remaining invisible to the eye.
  • Stealth Weapon: The rounds fired through this weapon have the sound suppressed almost entirely by a power converter which converts the sound energy of a round into electrical energy funneled into the magnetic rails of the gun. In combination with the Bondarium Ultrachrome alloy the weapon is almost invisible to scanners. This, and the fundamental process of the CROSS system filtered through a baffler creates a 1.5ft radius baffler field which acts as a scanner break, hiding the user from
  • Ion Resistant: This weapon, having its ammunition pre charged and its firing systems mostly mechanical or projecting in nature leaves this weapons primary function is widely immune to the usual effects of ion weaponry and electrical damage or magnetic / environmental effects which would normally see electrical equipment shut down.
WEAKNESSES
  • All You Can Carry: Ammunition for this weapon is charged in its magazine in advance of fielding a unit with this weapon. It's not compatible with other weapons' ammo and requires a charging station to be able to create more. Simply put, this weapon only has as much ammo as a person is willing to carry, and not a single round more. A Magazine carries 5 canisters, and each bullet shaped canister filled with stored charge particles of one of 5 unique types is able to fire 5 rounds.
  • Lightsabers: Lightsabers, although weaker duelists may find the kinetic damage difficult to deal with, these blasts are able to be deflected by a lightsaber as any blaster bolts with the exception of the High Caliber rounds, which explode.
  • Manually Loaded: This weapon is loaded manually shell per shell with no auto loading / charging or firing mechanism present in most blasters. Meaning that after each five shots a new canister needs to be loaded into the weapon via its magazine, once the five canisters in the magazine runs out, it needs a full reload which an opponent could certainly take advantage of.
  • Loaded Frequently: With a maximum sum of 25 rounds, this weapon requires far more frequent reloading than standard blasters of similar kinds. The ammunition cases can only be purchased through House Aquilas outlets.
  • Analogue Configuration: This weapon has very little in the way of bells and whistles that aid in its firing, no rangefinders, aim assists etc and relies almost entirely on external systems or the skill of he shooter, restricting its use at extremely long ranges.
DESCRIPTION

Forged at the commission of Alana Calloway with request for a versatile long range marksmans rifle with some punch to it as well as a hefty R&D payout, Felix moved to create the penultimate variant of their Owl pattern sniper rifle, stripping it down to its fundamentals and building it up to be closer range, lighter and more wieldy, saving interior space with the addition of external hardware components replacing interior electronics. The result was an angular aesthetically pleasing rifle which was able to dock a magazine. The weapon was made to replicate the weight distribution of known pulse blasters favored by snipers and weapons experts.

Bandorium and a baffler were also threaded into the Ultrachrome and the CROSS ballistic shields in order to protect the user and the weapon from scanners, adding to some extent the stealth feature of the original Owl into the rifle. This allows the weapon to remain hidden from most scanners and censors allowing it to be smuggled while the Baffler threaded into the energy of the shield can hide itself as well as the user from mono-directional scanners which rely on projecting wavelengths such as visual scanners and sonars. Working as a sonar break.

Additionally, House Aquila added a plethora of potential ammunition types based on their research into charged particles how they form plasma and how they interact with the world around them giving it a host of useful shots that can be picked and chosen to cater the weapons' experience to the mission in which it's been employed. It was determined also to save on weight and space that rather than charge the ammunition internally, that the cartridges would be kept within armoured and secure magazines for safety to be carried on the gunners' person. The cartridges are specially made to produce a long life EM field that can maintain the high charges of the primed ammunition. replicating the size of a 50cal BAT round.

In testing, the rifling and components were hand forged and laser aligned by experts with highly accurate tools in order to provide incredible precision over long distances, as well as materials that would not warp or twist under the high energy signatures and thresholds which give the weapon a lifetime guarantee.
