+Mechanically inclined
Aqulia is skilled in mechanics and engineering.
+ Swordsman

- Risk taker
If Aqulia sees an opportunity she will take it and often forgets the consequences if she should fail. It’s a black mark levelled against her whenever promotion comes calling.
- Maverick
Aqulia knows she should follow orders implicitly but sometimes, if she believes they are wrong, she will do her own thing. This is the other significant black mark against her.
- Limited hand-to-hand combat skills
Aqulia is not great with a blaster and a sword isn’t a viable weapon most of the time, so once out of her cockpit, she’s a limited offensive threat
APPEARANCE:
She’s above average height and has piercing blue eyes. Athletic rather than muscular and not at all curvy.
BIOGRAPHY:
Aqulia has been orphaned twice. Once by her biological parents and once by her adopted parents – both due to war. Once aged six months and the other on the day of her 11th birthday.
Her parents were farmers and her adoptive father a sword-maker and adoptive mother an artist. As such, many of her talents and abilities owe a lot to the people that brought her up. It’s something she’s sometimes guilty of – as the only thing about her that is linked to her parents are her eyes – just like her mothers.
As a young girl she would spend hours in her adoptive father's workshop, watching as metal was forged, hammered, cooled and sharpened into weapons. Her fascination with his profession instils some tomboyish attitudes in her. But she also loves to draw and is known in the squadrons she serves in for the caricatures she draws of fellow pilots – and of course superior officers!
Resisting any overtures to be adopted again, worried she was some sort of jinx, she enrolled in the junior naval cadets as soon as she could and finally joined the Academy aged 16.
She was a capable pilot and astute tactician and despite graduating second in her class – and voted most likely to make Admiral first – she has spurned opportunities for promotion, preferring to remain in the cockpit as, “In here you can see the whites of their eyes.” It’s not that she revels in war but she sees every soldier killed and every ship downed as an opportunity for more civilians to live.
Her battle cry in combat is simple and to the point – "For my families!"
Aqulia is comfortable with any number of ships but her preference is for the Narra-class Interceptor – as used by her current squadron – the Bloodhawks.
The ship represents everything she loves about flying – it’s quick, more manoeuvrable than most other starfighters and above all exceptionally lethal. And like Aqulia, it is not a jack-of-all trades. It’s focus is to engage other fighters and not escort or capital ships.
The Bloodhawks are an elite squadron of up to ten to twelve pilots at a time and tends to be called in for emergency situations. Often pulling double or triple shifts they have no home base – instead moving from hangar to hangar as and where they’re needed.
PERSONALITY:
Aqulia is resilient, brave, resourceful, single-minded and loyal. One the down-side she is demanding, intolerant and dogmatic,
