CORPORATION INFORMATION
Corporation Name: Arakyd Industries
Headquarters: Vulpter
Locations: Coruscant, Denon, Kelada & Mechis III
Operations: Major manufacturer of droids, heavy weapons & starships; outsourced research, development & production to subsidiaries.
DESCRIPTION
Arakyd Industries is a large sized manufacturing company, which is aimed at producing a range of droids, heavy weapons and starships for various clients. The other aspects include research and development via subsidiaries under the controlling Arakyd Industries corporation. The company is funded by several key investors, but overseen and operated by Kloris Dud (NPC) as acting CEO. With a focus on highly sophisticated droid parts, including pioneering A.I advances, heavy weapons and starship manufacturing, Arakyd Industries has become a moderately successful venture with a stable consumer line.
Large business decisions and directions fall to the company board to discuss and vote, with a controlling portion of shares owned by Starjump Enterprises owner Chance Bonaventure. However the day-to-day running of the company falls to Kloris Dud, and the assortment of lower management she has under her control.
The current galactic Arakyd Industries is actually a secondary establishment corporation, which split during a rebranding and sought to maintain the Arakyd name. While the business parting was amicable, there was certainly no love lost between board members, and as a result the two companies act entirely separate from one another and share no business relationship or connections (beyond initial corporation name prior to business split).
RATIONALE
Arakyd Industries has had a turbulent history, with ever changing affiliations depending on the galactic scene. With the fall of the New Republic several centuries ago, the corporation maintained a more independent market and economic presence. This allowed it to function and control itself, while also opening avenues to contract more clients from a range of governments or holdings, without reprisal. But, by being a more privatized company, Arakyd Industries was open for share holdings to be accumulated, and over several years one individual - Chance Bonaventure - was able to purchase, payout or otherwise gain a controlling interest in the corporation and its subsidiaries. As a result, Arakyd Industries has fallen under the Starjump Enterprises corporate umbrella.
Due to being a legal business, Arakyd Industries has no outstanding or illegal aspects, beyond the typical internal corporate loopholes and questionable management practices - not too dissimilar to most companies, who are trying to maximize profit.
