Private Archduke's Gamble

poggle-the-lesser-2-retina_ddb43fc2.jpeg

Within the lavish reception hall of the Archduke's palace on Geonosis, a subdued atmosphere permeated the air amidst the backdrop of the sprawling factories as they churned out legions of battle droids for the Trade Federation of Planets. Towering stone columns resembled organic formations, embellished with detailed engravings depicting the historical narratives of the Geonosian civilization, ending with the collapse of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Positioned by a grand window overlooking the hive factory below, the Archduke gazed out at the mesmerizing sight of the sunlit honeycomb-like structures that defined the planet's landscape. Outside, the distant sound of Geonosian workers going about their daily tasks could be heard, a reminder of the industrious nature of the planet's inhabitants.

Archduke Brachtor the Glorified, ruler of Geonosis awaited the arrival of an important individual within the ranks of the Trade Federation of Planets. The Archduke's eyes, a piercing shade of amber, scanned the horizon as he pondered the nature of the impending negotiation.

Two Geonosian attendants guided the guest into the room, dressed in an attire that exuded a sense of worldly elegance.

<< You have arrived punctually, as we requested. >> Brachtor explained, with a series of clinks and alien tongue.

House Nargath had been relatively obscure most of the time since the ancient days, playing small roles in the annals of history that would not denote any importance to them and when an individual did gain recognition beyond the borders of Th eriadu system...they generally were known by a hoste of other names or titles that superceded or veiled their link to the great House. This did change about half a century prior to the current time, when the Marquis Nargath's great uncle challenged the authority of the Confederation of Independent Systems and lost. While this man had brought the family to new heights and had greatly expanded the wealth and power the House wielded, his actions led to a generation of struggle and stagnation. For despite that man's failures he was seen as one of the brightest the family had ever brought forth...that was at least until Tertius.

While he was viewed as a failure from an Eriaduan standpoint, due to his somewhat weak health and physical defect, there was no denying that when it came to his mind, it more than generously compensated for what his body lacked in strength. In but a short period after his father traded this life for the next, the young new head of House Nargath sought to restore their wealth by risking all of it on a daring, yet calculated plan.

He invested heavily in the family's assets, renewed the vigor with which the Family's main asset; The Nargath and Zanareth Umbrella Corporation used to constantly reinvent and outdo itself and lastly, he reached out to other systems, factions across the board in order to see where it would be best to take his chances and where to utilize his penchant for calculated risks the best...the Trade Federation of Planets was exactly what he had been looking for, a place where business was life and where life...was business.

Right after he had received his summons from Geonosia, Tertius did not hesitate for a moment to take the first shuttle he could get to bring him to his destination. It was after all a high honor and opportunity to meet with someone of such a high status as the Archduke of Geonosia. It was somewhat fitting that a Nargath would come into the very core where once the power and status of the C.I.S. reached its peak, a planet which had gone through many hardships and tribulations, but had never seemed to be fully broken, inhabited by a people some called disgusting, but others like Tertius saw the beauty and the simplicity within the Geonosian structure and their culture.

Finally, when the shuttle had touched down and the rather young head of the House Nargath found himself surrounded by the sheer size of the Geonosian Industry and while he was guided to his destination by what the Marquis could only describe as devoted attendants, the man was in awe by the magnificence of the structure in which he had been led around. The Valkan Palace which he called home wasn't exactly small or crude by any means, nay...it too was massive and in some people's eyes perhaps the most awe-inspiring building on Eriadu, but that was exactly it...it was just the most awe inspiring building on Eriadu and Geonosia, with its grand history stood a few leagues above that.

When he was spoken to by an insect-like being in a mixture of clicks and chirps, the Eriaduan Marquis could only make a humble, yet graceous bow as was to be expected when meeting someone who by rights of noble titles was of a much higher station and thus following the long standing tradition and protocol of showing proper respect was the least Tertius could do.

"Your excellency," Rising from his courteous bow with a fluidity and style that could only be seen amongst those who knew how to exude a certain elegance and charm that seemed to be exclusive to those of noble birth, the Marquis of House Nargath showed a veritable, yet faint smile on his face, as the corners of his thin lips moved ever so slightly upward. "What would be left of us, if we were not punctual. Such is the fate of those of us who value life more than any other... according to its market value."

Hoping the Archduke would at the very least be amused by this jest which only a proper businessman could understand, once again that same faint smile appeared upon the Marquis' face. "Forgive me, but now in all seriousness...your excellency, may I inquire as to the reasons behind this summons?"

poggle-the-lesser-2-retina_ddb43fc2.jpeg

<< Such poetic words would serve the Trade Federation well, very well. >> The Archduke uttered, extending a delicate touch to the lengthy strand of his beard that hung from his insect-like head. Existence lacked purpose unless it was endowed with significance, hence why Senators and Emperors frequently sought refuge behind the battle lines, while their soldiers fearlessly advanced towards imminent demise, without a single grievance, knowing their place within the hive-structure.

<< You have been called upon due to your ability to contribute to our objectives with your business expertise, my drones have discovered a large deposit of Geonosian Iron-Rockite beneath the surface of the planet. A strong material, able to deflect a glancing blow of a lightsaber and withstand immense amount of pressure. >> Brachtor glanced away from the window of the factorum towards the holographic table nearby. The red glow of the table highlighted the intricate details of the palace environment, showcasing the mine shaft and the mentioned material in full detail for the man to review at his leasure.

<< With such a material - it needs distribution to make a profit >> An additional remark - aimed at enticing Mr. Nargath into the realm of business prospects, by presenting him with a pathway to a lucrative enterprise without any extra expenses or initial investment.

"Hmm, I'm honored," Tertius was glad his quip didn't go on deaf ears, but didn't show too much enthusiasm, rather showing a thoughtful and understanding visage, showing that rather than enthusiasm, his mind was preoccupied by hearing the possible reason for his summons and when the answer to that question was finally given by the Geonosian noble, the Eriaduan let out a sigh in both relief and defeat, it was a twofold issue in a sense. "Iron-rockite..."

Tertius had to think this over, wonder what could be done with the material, think about the possible uses it could have not just on Geonosia, not just under his own auspices, but in general. That was after all his strength: Ideas, he brought the plan, the first sentence to describe a product and his engineers, architects and researchers filled in the blanks. However now he had a problem, Geonosian Iron-Rockite was not that known to him...an issue probably caused by the material's loss of structural integrity when brought off-world from Geonosia, thus limiting its use.

"My knowledge on the material is limited...what I do know is that it is not a usual sight away from Geonosia," Raising his hand to his forehead, Tertius' index finger and thumb lightly touched his forehead, a few early age wrinkles showing as he was deep in thought. "Rather than focusing on the material's inherently combat worthy properties and resistance to lightsabers...when it comes to distribution beyond Geonosia...I may have a proposition...an Idea of sorts."

Pointing at the palace they were standing in, the Head of House Nargath smiled, hoping the Archduke would realize it. "It is strong and sturdy, has all the properties of a rock and of metal, I pressume...or at the very least a veritable mix. If it tends to become loses cohesiveness outside of Geonosia...it needs to be part of an alloy that wouldn't really be perturbed by this issue, a strong bonding alloy. The other option would be to simply leave it as is, because again...as part of a proper mix, it could become a very, VERY good building material and with how much gets destroyed, newly designed and erected and destroyed again... Construction and the materials for it aren't really a bad business overall."

poggle-the-lesser-2-retina_ddb43fc2.jpeg

<< A twin-proposal that will certainly bring us profitable returns >> The Archduke's expression remained the same, knowing that Geonosian Iron-Rockite was a difficult material to work with, because it deteriorated over time when removed from its original environment.

Brachtor considered the possibility of combining the material with another alloy to enhance its strength, thus increasing its resilience for interstellar travel. Alternatively, the other suggestion was that the material could also be utilized within the construction sector. After doing some quick mental figures, it was clear that the construction angle would benefit them most.

<< I am much more inclined to allocate my resources towards the Construction angle, primarily because of little to no competition within that market-sector. The Galactic Alliance, Coruscant Reconstruction Program, will be the most lucrative market for our scheme, as hundreds of buildings need to be repaired and strengthened to prevent city-wide collapses. However, there is the problem of proper transportation.>> The Geonosian was reluctant to spend credits on combining the material with another stronger alloy, understanding that such an operation would take time. Time the did not have, if they were to corner the Coruscanti Market.

"So the construction angle...yes, I thought that would be the more preferable choice as well, your Excellency," The Marquis of House Nargath let out a soft chuckle in reponse to the fact that in the end there seemed to be some line of thought in which the two were remarkably similar. "The Galactic Alliance's reconstruction program...hmm, we do have a division on Coruscant, so looking into it may be worth the time. Though I have to admit that division itself has seen better times as well, so I may have to take this opportunity to kill two birds in one stone."

Thinking it over, Tertius started to walk around, pacing up and down a few steps, tilting his head backwards as he was thinking on the whole idea. There was indeed, just like Brachtor had mentioned the issue of transport, but that would most likely where the Trade Federation's considerable leverage and assets would come into play. However, now that he was here, why wouldn't the Marquis throw out his own fishingline in this case. The Trade Federation had at least one other company on the same level as the N&Z Umbrella Corporation, but perhaps he could gain the edge by making a quick executive decision. "Would you excuse me for a moment, your excellency?"

Reaching within his vest, the Marquis pulled out a small datapad, touching the screen and allowing it to make a holonet connection, at which point a somewhat gruff looking face started to form; a head filled with rough, gray hair and a scruffy beard. "Lander...those ST2000 SUperfreighters, how many do we have in stock at this point?"

"We may have about fifty that have been put in storage after we managed to shorten the transport route to schesa," The gruff man didn't seem to notice the presence of the Geonosian Archduke, but was practically focusing all of his attention on Tertius. "The upgrades to the new model are taking some time though... do you have need for the old ones?"

"Yes, in a sense I do...How far are we with the containers using the suspension field?"

"Ready for advertising and launch."

"Excellent."

Turning his attention back towards the Geonosian, Tertius gave the man a nod and tapped a few times on the screen of his datapad, allowing it to load the schematics of the old, but robust Avarice class ST2000 model. "As you may have surmised from the conversation...we can ahev about fifty of these old superfreighters at the ready. Which considering the upgrade to the models is still in testing and review phase means it's the best I can offer, but I think we can improve on the transport issues by utilizing suspension field containers."

Archduke Brachtor expressed apprehension regarding the unresolved transportation predicament, as the Trade Federation had dedicated a significant amount of capital towards their various subsidiary companies and the advancement of new technology for the Dark Empire, instead of aquiring the essential shipping containers for interplanetary transportation once the material had been found.

A silent exchange passed between them, accompanied by the gentle caress of his fingers through his thick, beard-like facial hair, as Mr. Nargath devised a solution following a brief discussion with another individual via holographic communication. The schematics of the old, but robust Avarice class ST2000 model came through on the table, allowing him to view it in full detail. It was not as large as some of the other freighters that the Trade Federation had been developing but it would serve its purpose.

<<< Suspension field containers could potentially resolve the problem of deterioration. However, due to the ongoing conflict between the Dark Empire and the Galactic Alliance, these models would be torn to shreds before they even reached Coruscant. How can you ensure that our assets would be protected, if I gave the go ahead for loading >>> The Geonosian inquired, gesturing with the staff of command firmly held in his grasp.

The ongoing conflict over the Hyperspace Lanes, known as the Core War, was expanding across various sectors and systems. It would be detrimental for the Federation to suffer financial losses due to an accidental turbolaser discharge.

Intently trying to look at the Archduke's expressions (not at all considered easy when it came to the Geonosian species) and the emphasis the being made on his particular clicks and gutteral sounds, Tertius tried to gauge the Archduke's interest and opinion on the given proposal. Learning the language of the face and the body was important and though the Marquis wouldn't consider himself a master in this regard, he has at the very least learned that there were a few visual cues to keep an eye out for in the realm of trade and commerce: A slight twitching of the eyes combined with a slight waving of the hands would be a dismissive consideration, the way a king would dismiss a farmer's plea without wanting to actually dismay the farmer, an empty gesture as it were. There was also the more errative puffing of the cheeks, a lack of eyecontact and a somewhat nervous temper which implied fear or confusion, which was both a good and a bad thing, if it was fear it could be capitalized, if it was confusion...it could create miscommunications.

The more he kept an eye on the Archduke's minute tensioning of his digits, the eyes and the overall tone of 'voice', so far it seemed that Tertius hadn't hit any of those bad notes just yet, so despite the fact he was told his superfreighters were considered to be somewhat smaller than anticipated, the concern seemed to be less focused on the size and more on the safety of these vessels, especially with the political issues currently still going on within the galaxy at large.

"I could say that currently, my position would play in our favor though," The head of house Nargath hoped that the Geonosian noble would remember that the N&Z Umbrella corporation itself holds little to no allegiance to any of the aforementioned galactic factions. It was once aligned with the sith empire and the Zweihander Union, even with the C.I.S. through association, but never was considered a fully integrated part of either of the aforementioned factions simply because even the current Marquis' great-uncle knew the reality of business: picking a side was a dangerous thing, while neutrality in the end may be seen as ideologic weakness and a lack of loyalty, those sentiments would dissappear much sooner than the grudges held towards clearly affiliated companies. "These vessels provide execellent defense and even if they should be shot down...the aggressors would have to be idiotic to try and down Trade Federation sanctioned transports. Neither faction within our galaxy would benefit from such act. Not the alliance, since they are desperate for fresh supplies and material and not the empire, since cutting Trade Federation profits would undoubtedly hit their own economy as well."

Letting out a sigh, the Chairman of the Nargath & Zanareth Umbrella Corporation tapped on the screen of his datapad again and let out what could be best described as a triumphant huff. "To be honest, if we just transport these under the N&Z flag... we can just take the corellian run and we'd be fine. Especially since I'd be willing to fund the first transport for my own personal enterprise and gain. Our Coruscant facilities are in dire disrepair and the war hasn't helped our own projects either. So...whichever option you think is best, I will immediately see to it that any necessary procurements and requirements can be met and dealt with."

Brachtor narrowed his eyes as he gazed at the holographic table, briefly considering the proposal brought to his attention. The N&Z Umbrella Corporation, was a formidable corporation that did not hold any particular allegiance to any of the current major galactic factions, such as the Dark Empire or the Galactic Alliance, However, their prolonged absence from the corporate arena made Brachtor slightly uneasy, given the delicate situation they found themselves in.

It was accurate that the Galactic Powers would refrain from intervening with the Trade Federation, acknowledging its significant role in the galactic economy and its control over valuable resources. Nevertheless, despite their claims of neutrality, they were compelled to align themselves with both the Alliance's Assembly and the Imperial Ruling Council in order to exploit them to its fullest extent.

The Archduke's expression soured, at the notion of having to rely on an older corporation to accomplish the assignment.

<<< Begin loading the cargo beneath the N&Z Banners. Additionally, we are open to the possibility of providing you with a loan of 12 million credits should you need it to repair your assets on Coruscant, ensuring a more efficient transportation process to the surface. >>> After careful consideration and contemplation, Brachtor finally yielded.

Recognizing that the Umbrella Corporation presented the sole opportunity to navigate through the war-torn areas and successfully deliver the supplies to its most lucrative market. Moreover, the corporation even extended a loan to expedite the entire process.

"Understood, your excellency," The Marquis showed at the very least a bit of delight after managing to get the Geonosian so far as to grant the N&Z the permission to transport the material and thus the raw product under their own flag. It might allow the N&Z Umbrella corporation to once again open up some lines towards the larger markets of the Galaxy. However, there was one thing the Archduke seemed to be wrong in...he highly underestimated the health of the company, which despite having stagnated and shrunk in overall capital and Financial liquidity, still stood stable as a rock...just not the mountain it used to be.

"I must decline a loan, your excellency," The marquis made a waving motion with his left hand, promptly showing he would not accept being treated as a lesser party when he himself was the one who was rapidly turning around the company's favors and most importantly its influence. "We did not step into the Trade Federation to be rescued, we joined with the express goal of mutual benefit. As you so clearly exposed with your earlier concerns, the Trade Federation does have a few difficult issues when it comes to masking their allegiances or more precisely: not playing any favors. The N&Z offers the cloak of neutrality, a veil to hide all intentions behind."

Tapping his chin for a moment, the Head of House Nargath smiled and waved his hand again, before suddenly raising his indexinger in the air a bit, as if a revelation had come to mind. "How about this...rather than calling the twelve million credits a loan, call it... a Venture capital injection. My company will provide anything from ships, logistics, product-planning and research, while the Trade Federation under your directive would provide the liquidity to succefully start up and maintain this venture. I in my capacity as chairman of the board and Interim CEO of the Nargath and Zannareth Umbrella Corporation would balance the liquidity of the Trade Federation's capital injection with an equally substantial value in terms of goods and services."

<<< Hmm....I see....The Trade Federation is committed to treating you as an equal partner in all future arrangements and agreements, but let me remind you not to inflate your sense of importance, given that there are plenty of corporations within our purview on standby for this shipment such as the Metatheran Cartel. >>> The Archduke spoke, accompanied by a swift movement of wings in a dismissive manner to Mr. Nargath's comments.

The Trade Federation was more than able to support a balanced partnership with the N&Z Umbrella Corporation, however, it was unwise of them to assume that they were the sole entities capable of achieving this objective.

<<< You may call it a venture capital injection, an allocation of funds, a joint-cooperative, or numerous other terminologies, but the impact will be the same. I will ensure that all the required preparations for this 'injection' are completed by the end of this rotation, provided that you utilize these resource judiciously and not waste it in an effort to enhance your corporate reputation at the cost of our agreement. >>>

The Geonosian did not call the individual to engage in complex negotiations and manipulate language; rather, they would offer the necessary funds for this strategic endeavor in exchange for a substantial return of goods and services.

Tertius gave a calm nod in reaction to the Archduke's clear and concise words, though as he did so, if one was astute and with a clear mind, they could see a very, very faint curl in the man's thin lips, almost as if this response by the Geonosian had been perfectly within the expected parameters. While the Archduke was right to exclaim that the corporation did not overinflate their own importance, Tertius was well aware that these words could be redirected towards the Trade Federation itself.

The Marquis was aware that his words, even if they would be considered as empty in the current balance of power, were not an empty, pointless bark of a small pup, but an old pitbull finding the will to stand once more to protect what is theirs. Too often did those on the top forget that the ones toppling them were almost always coming from below. Tertius really wanted to have the Archduke's words to become an absolute reality; that when he'd have his way with his family's company, it would once again reach the pinnacle it had had over fifty years ago. To rise within the trade federation until the entity itself could no longer ignore the importance of this so-called old dog in the game.

"My corporate reputation will enhance because of this deal anyway," The Head of the Nargath House chuckled, tilting his head ever so slightly. "After all, if my company's name is uttered in the same breath as the Trade Federation, it is at the very least a step back towards the corporate limelight. Don't worry about the allocation of the funds though, because I have something from my own end to utilize as sort of an appetizer towards a fruitful cooperation of mutual benefit."

Reaching within the opposite side of his vest where he had taken the datapad from, his hand pulled out half a dozen small, marble like objects. One seemed to be Silver Gray in color, while another leaned more towards a darker, burnished silver, A third small marble shimmered with a dark red color and of each of these, the Marquis seemed to hold a pair. Picking one of each pair, he reached out his hand towards the Archduke. "Geonosia has the Iron-Rockite, the Eriadu system has Ersteel thanks to my company. Perhaps you would like to analyze these samples and see whether or not it may be a useful addition towards the Trade Federation's massive raw materials market."

Brachtor the Vindicated Brachtor the Vindicated

poggle-the-lesser-2-retina_ddb43fc2.jpeg

<<< You've made yourself clear, perfectly clear >>> Brachtor understood that the Trade Federation was not as all-powerful or impervious to the changing dynamics of trade as they claimed to be, considering they had many rivals from the Commerce Guild, InterGalactic Banking Clan, Arceneau Trading Company, Aurora Industries and so forth. Each one able to summon just as much capital and influence, to use in the Great Corporate Game.

Mr. Nargath's internal assessment was accurate, even if he did not vocalize it. The Trade Federation was a coalition of businesses, trade organizations, and commercial markets operating under a single brand. As the brand expanded to new systems and regions, every faction within the coalition would possess the ability to break away or exert control over their parent organization.

It was indeed fortunate that the Federation was governed by individuals who had a vested interest in ensuring its continued existence.

<<< An astute entrepreneur understands that a person will not part with an item unless they perceive it to be valuable to the recipient. Our war foundries require raw materials, which you happen to possess on hand. Such a hand will not let go of such material, until an offer is made. So how much are we talking, 10 million, 20 million. >>> The Geonosian observed the materials, using a small eye glass to examine them more closely. He wasn't born yesterday to think, that the N&Z Corporation would not take advantage of the fact that raw materials were needed for the Federation's forward foundries near the front lines of the Core War.

The Eriaduan showed a somewhat light and faint smirk, keeping his facial expressions light and without much heaviness in order to not open his hand of cards all too obviously. Tertius was not a gambler, he was someone who took reasonable risk after proper calculations and even a transaction of goods, a purchase and a contract were all treated the same way.

When it looked like his calculated risk of bringing some samples of the N&Z's most profitable and widely used material would bear fruit in the form of a generated interest in the material, the Marquis could not resist trying to work out a deal that once again would benefit the two parties. The Trade Federation's network was a useful thing, but it was extremely hard for outsiders to cut any sort of deal that would grant them entrance into said network, this was something not Tertius, but the old Credius had managed to face, and back then the Trade Federation itself was much less of a powerhouse as it was these days.

"Connections and contracts might be more valuable than a one time payment of hard coin and credit," The Marquis remarked, merely waving his hand in the air as if to accentuate the fact that he had little to no interest in merely sending a load of his material to the Trade Federation and be done with it. "The Ersteel is a perfect replacement for durasteel, delivering similar if not slightly superior performance in most cases...and that's only the 145 compound, the 1333 and the 12231 alloys provide even better capacity, but are much harder to make, ending up as a much more costly affair to procure."

Straightening his back and reaching to his full height, practically towering over the royal Geonosian, the Marquis twirled with the remaining marbles in the palm of his hand. "Generally these materials are closed off for others, but I think the Trade Federation can gain access to these materials and in truth many more of our materials if they are willing to take a gamble. My company needs access to your network and extensive list of contacts...You as a representative of the Trade Federation can see to such admission. The Federation needs raw materials of high quality and a variety of uses for the many contracts you have running and the many companies you oversee... perhaps a perpetual contract for access to the specified materials and shipments of these could be considered."

<<< Out of the Question >>> Brachtor promptly declined the idea that the Trade Federation would share their extensive lists of contacts and connections with anyone, including a mutual partner like the N&Z Corporation.

The Geonosian could potentially boost production within his own holdings by accepting the perpetual contract for the materials and shipments. The Nobleman took a few moments to reflect, carefully considering that granting access to crucial information would greatly disturb the Executive Board, a risk he was not willing to take.

<<< The Iron-Rockite has been placed in the warehouses for immediate shipping. Direct your freighters to the underground landing pads when they arrive within the system >>> A brief observation of the holographic table, informed the Archduke that the Iron-Rockite had been relocated from the mining shafts to the underground storage facilities.

The responsibility now fell upon the N&Z Corporation to direct their freighters upon arrival towards the underground landing pads in order to facilitate the prompt shipment of the mineral to Coruscant.

"We may revisit such an agreement when we have got to know eachother a bit better," The Marquis calmly replied in response to the flat out denial coming from the Geonosian Archduke to his proposal of allowing the N&Z access to the Trade Federation's network. Though he found it rather funny how this higher up from the Trade Federation was so helbent on keeping the Trade Federation's network out of Tertius' reach, knowing fully well that it would only be a matter of time before he'd have access anyway... wether it'd take days or years, something as good as gaining access to the Trade Federation's valuable network of connections, corporate spies and stockbrokers was always a thing to strive for.

"Ofcourse," Following Brachtor's example to simply move on to the business at hand, the Marquis tapped a few times on his datapad, sending through a clearance code and the trajectory as given by the Archduke, it took a few seconds for a reply to arrive and when he did get it, Tertius showed another faint smile. "Looks like we're in luck, my boys have been doing their work properly and have managed to have a smooth flight and are currently exiting from the Mara corridor...they should be within the Geonosis system in naught but a few minutes. "

Again, the Marquis held himself bussy with his datapad, showing another faint smile as he read some messages from the divisions within the company. "On a lighter note, it seems the repair and redesign of the old Alpha site on Eriadu has been completed and we'll be expecting the place to be up and running within a fortnight. If you are interested, I would not mind sending a few invitations for the Official opening of the new Research and development center to your offices. A gesture of goodwill towards you and your colleagues within the Trade Federation's board of directors."

The Archduke shot a disapproving glance at the man upon hearing the suggestion of revisiting the topic at a later time. He furrowed his brows in mild irritation, silently indicating his reluctance to entertain the idea. However, they were wise enough not to press the matter any further, opting instead to concentrate on their prior agreement regarding the delivery and transportation of the Geonosian Iron-Rockite to Coruscant for the Reconstruction Program.

The Archduke nodded in agreement, as the reports came in that the N&Z Freighters would soon to arrive within the system of Geonosis.

<<< Most satisfactory >>> a short response in a series of clicks and clacks, as an invitation was extended to the senior officials of the Trade Federation to participate in the inauguration of the Research and development center on Eraidu.

<<< I will pass along such an invitation to the Commanding Viceroy, >>> The Geonosian, known for his reclusive nature, preferred to avoid personal appearances and interactions.

Instead, he would delegate such responsibilities to others, such as passing along invitations to important figures like the Viceroy of the Trade Federation, Rulonom Laborr. This allowed him to focus on his work behind the scenes, orchestrating events and decisions from afar.

"The viceroy, hmm," The marquis smiled only faintly, his lips curling up only at the very edges, while his eyes seemed to darken a bit, harden as he had really hoped he could have the Geonosian join the inauguration with the very intent of showing the Archduke that the N&Z had made some serious strides in reinventing itself since he, Tertius took the reigns. "I will see to it that he will enjoy the inauguration wholeheartedly and that his report to you may be positive."

From this first interaction alone it seemed rather obvious that even if the Archduke didn't hold the position of Viceroy, he was the person you wanted to please and get along with... considering his entire demeanor just oozed with an authority only true leaders could display.

"Oh,"A beep coming from the Marquis' datapad indicated that the freighters were finally setting up to enter the geonosian aerospace proper, preparing their approach to the designated location as the archduke and the Marquis had their talk. "It seems we'll be handling the paperwork sooner than expected. We do need to write up the transport manifest and the corresponding cargo documents in case the Alliance starts being iffy again, which considering the situation would be expected, but better to be safe rather than sorry."

Brachtor observed the shift in the Marquis's demeanor as a sign that they were disappointed in the Archduke's rejection of the invitation, although they skillfully displayed a facade of cordiality towards welcoming the Commanding Viceroy in place of the Archduke at such a noticable event which was bound to attract numerous investors and corporate leaders from across the galaxy, eager to assess the potential of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation.

<<< I will await such a report keenly, Marquis >>> A basic hand signal indicated the Geonosian Nobleman's willingness to await the report, in order to assess whether the man's company still held the same level of influence in the galactic marketplace. The Archduke noticed the faint sound coming from the datapad held by the Marquis, intrigued to learn about any additional developments following the preparation of coordinates and underground landing pads for the freighters.

<<< A successful entrepreneur is constantly ready for such legal entanglements. I have already acquired the necessary paperwork from my contacts in the Committee on Finance and Commerce in the Galactic Alliance. You can access them from the central terminal located nearby. >> He had reached out to the Senate Committee a couple of hours prior to the Marquis' arrival, as a precaution in case such a situation arose during their discussion. All necessary paperwork had been arranged to ensure the seamless transportation of the materials.

"Hmm," The Marquis let out a sigh of relief as he looked at the datapad, noticing that the freighters were indeed starting their descent in order to start loading up the materials in the allocated docking bays. "Sometimes, I would give my life for things to run smoothly like this...well perhaps not my life, but I'd rather see meager profits than knowing you'd have your profits burned away by tonnes of bureaucracy and slowdowns.'"

Giving a nod to the Archduke to indicate that the feighters were indeed on schedule, the Marquis tapped on the datapad again in order to look at his checklist, reacting to several messages coming from his secretary at Eriadu through the holonet, again nodding in an appreciative manner when he heard the Geonosian reinsure him that all the paperwork had already been dealt with beforehand. "So all we have left to do is get those documents, thank you for making it that much easier for me, your excellency."

Pointing at the one of the exits, the Marquis inquired if the terminal would be in that direction...
