STANDARD FEATURES
  • A tractor beam generator for snagging smugglers, pirate vessels, or escape pods from space.
  • The bridge is actually in the stern of the ship, on the ventral side.
  • Lots of fire control sensors and fire control stations prevent loss of weapons in the event of damage.
  • Compartmentalized and ray-shielded ammunition bunkers linked by ammunition elevators and with blow-out channels to space to prevent catastrophic detonation.
  • There are six articulating sections amidships on both sides which pivot up and down to give complete fields of fire, allowing all eighteen medium proton cannon turrets to fire on a single target above or below to ship.
  • Strong electronic warfare suite to jam transmissions and interfere with locking scanners from enemy munitions.
  • Small hangar in the bow with a closing hangar door for protecting it. Along with the fighters inside the hangar can hold a single dropship or shuttle on a semi-permanent basis.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Mon Calamari-designed deflector shields, without the large number of power-hungry weapons systems of other ships and its Mon Calamari design it is very effective, but it isn't nearly as resilient as other CRAF ships.
  • Comprehensive and heavily redundant damage control systems with a high emphasis on redundancy and rapid response. All turrets are sectioned-off, along with their ammunition lockers. There are pre-positioned fire-fighting hoses, breathing apparatus lockers, fire-fighting suits for more than half the crew, and every hallway, room, and mechanical component is covered by fire-fighting foam dispensers. These damage control measures are controlled by several damage control centers scattered throughout the ship with overlapping fields of responsibility to increase redundancy, but the ship is still vulnerable to heavy damage which larger ships can shrug off.
  • Dedicated ammunition hoist system and resupply tracks able to run ammunition to and from the main magazines deep within the ship to the ready-use lockers nearer to the turrets. This system allows for an ammunition ship to supply a warship with thousands of rounds of ammunition in less than a day.
  • The ship is built around a single keel, and is built out of three sections, the bow, the amidships, and the stern. All of these sections can be easily removed from the keel by a dockyard, allowing rapid and comprehensive major repairs to be conducted, and this system allows for these warships to be constructed quickly in smaller shipyards and for entire sections of ships to be stocked at repair yards.
  • Fire-control sensors for the EM-2500's and J-28's allow these large number of weapons to engage incoming missiles, proton torpedoes, and fast-moving craft from long-range to short-range.
STRENGTHS
  • Dual-purpose cannons.
  • Powerful shields for a ship its size.
  • Excellent damage control systems.
  • Heavily redundant systems.
  • Excellent point-defense weapons.
  • Can operate efficiently in non-combat roles with minimal crew.
WEAKNESSES
  • Older design, lacks modern shielding against railgun-type weapons.
  • Outranged by railguns.
  • Fragile hull.
  • Small crew is vulnerable to well-supported boarding actions.
  • Crowded vessel, not much room for large cargos except for designed necessities.
  • Can run out of ammunition for its main weapons if not adequately supplied.
DESCRIPTION
Designed as a long-range patrol and escort frigate, with the capability to take on and hold off other frigates and a number of enemy corvettes from attacking support ships or convoys it is escorting. This ship is also fast, built to be a supporting vessel to fast support ships moving ammunition and fuel to and from potential fleet units in need of assistance. This ship is easily built in large numbers thanks to its modular construction and its sleek dimensions mean that this frigate can be easily repaired in some of the other shipyards. Like other CRAF ships Archer-Class Escort Frigates have a major emphasis on damage control and survivability with their damage control subsystems being nearly identical in use and ability when compared to much larger ships. Usually these ships operate in small cohesive squadrons of a half-dozen ships protecting convoys, trade routes, and enforcing the law against smugglers, and their captains will not hesitate to go after ships even their own size. However, this ship is not meant to be going toe-to-toe with cruisers, nor does it have a place in CRAF battle fleets in major engagements. Still, frigate captains and their squadron commanders do not back down, and tend to end up in full-scale battles regardless of their lack of heavy armaments and shielding. But this ship is capable of assisting larger ships in small-scale engagements against ships its own size, and is an excellent anti-fighter vessel. Despite this ship's advantages it is still not a front-line combat ship, and RPers are advised to understand this.

BIG Z1776 BIG Z1776 - Sorry about the delay, but your present rating scheme allows for an additional point to be spent wherever you'd like. If you want to keep the ratings as they are - that's okay, but the option's there for you if you want. Just lemme know which route you wanna take.
